...Wait, where did you find this for $25? I haven't found it for less than $30.
Anyway, I think the problem you were having with the cockpit was because the chest was pushed in, it looked like that was blocking the lower hinge.

Not really sure... I think it's the angle that you put it in that locks it... Either way, it's not easy to take out...
