  • the biggest difference between 80's Metallica and 80's Megadeth (WARNING you probably won't understand this reference if you're not into Dragonball Z) is that Metallica was a lot like Cell, powerful but very focused and sophisticated whereas Megadeth was a lot more like Kid Buu or Broly, very chaotic in nature and unrestrained and vicious in their onslaught. On another note KIMBABIG is by far my favorite Megadeth album

  • I like this guy's opinions, but his sunglasses fucking crack me up...Lmao...

  • It was a good start. They have much better albums, but this wasn't exactly bad.

Also, I like Mechanix much better than the Four Horsemen.

Don't throw fruit at me just yet, just my opinion.

  • @justforthelulzzz if not just yet then when can we start throwing fruit at you?

  • @TheME666TAL

When you grow the fuck up and realize there are people who don't think the way you do.

  • @justforthelulzzz Try growing a fucking sense of humor jackass. Do you always respond like a complete douche when people try to kid around with you?

  • why are you wearing sunglasses??? Are you trying to hide something, like you reading from a script ??? :)

  • I think KIMB is Megadeth's 3rd best album, after Rust in Peace and Countdown to Extinction.

  • I dig it... I dig it a lot!! lol

  • I was so fortunate to get the original mix of this album....the remaster was fucking horrible.

  • @1983Wrathchild I wouldn't say that. more clear yes. but not as raw as the original

  • @Metallicaguy91 Well yeah, exactly. I actually prefer the more rawer version of the album, as I do with every other Megadeth release (which, unfortunately, are all remastered and remixed to hell).

  • this is my favorite megadeth album...

  • The production was so raw because I heard they were given $8,000 in total for production. They spent about half that on dope, lol.

Still, the $4,000 that actually went into production is still more than the around $1,500 that was afforded to produce Kill Em' All.

  • I don't completely agree with the review. It isn't so raw that one would think it was recorded in a dusty, murky attic lol. In fact, it sounds pretty good for a demo debut album. There were a million other albums at that time with even rawer and more unpolished production. These guys must have had some good fuckin equipment. Besides, Mustaine, from his previous experience knew a lot about engineering and setting up rigs for bands. fucking love KIMB though....Rattle your god damn fuckin head!!!!!

  • @assasinator1980 bands like who sound rawer? (and technical too)

  • @yootesa1515 whats your point

  • @assasinator1980 naa who do youy think sounded more raw and agressive ?

  • @yootesa1515 Evildead, Nuclear Assault, Violence, Exodus, Possessed....I don't think you listen to Thrash Metal.

  • @assasinator1980 well i acctualy listened to all those bands accept evildead, and no they cound not match the intencity. the only band that had the energy i was hoping fo is annihilator

  • @yootesa1515 I was talking about the production....as in, sound quality and not the song material. You are unnecessarily, like an idiot comparing those great bands and getting into a debate. There is no point in doing that. Knock it off man. Did you even watch the fucking video? or were you just scrolling down to see the comments which one to pick to start an argument.

  • @assasinator1980 im not looking for anything man, i was just looking for someone to point me out to an album or artist that sounds the same or more raw. this is one of my all time favorite albums ever.

  • @yootesa1515 listen to megadeth's demo version of Mechanix, Now that is what I'd call raw production... which may have been recorded directly to a tape recorder or something like that. Now, if you still do not understand what kind of "raw" I'm referring to...you need some comprehension lessons. And please, for fucks sake watch the video before commenting.

  • @assasinator1980 dude i listend to those demos since forever. and i did watch the video lulz lets just not responde anymore

  • @yootesa1515 yeah, right..you did.... -_-

  • @assasinator1980 what the fuck man, old megadeth is my fucking relgion, poland gar david and dave /m\ i know everything there is to know about the early days and beyond

  • @yootesa1515 but you know nothing about hearing music.

  • @assasinator1980 what ? i thought this discussion is over, now i know you just a troll. i know nothing about hearing music ? how did you even get to that statment? dafuck troll

  • @yootesa1515 you were born deaf..admit it

  • @assasinator1980 not realy...

  • @yootesa1515 you don't get the fucking point and neither can you hear music....you deserve to die! lol

  • @assasinator1980 wow die? stfu please. oyu make no sence, you stoped making sence when you responded to me. your probably a sad case please stop asuming you are better then people without gaining the upper hand first. you are a proud case of a PoSer. you dont know about mt or my music... please stop you retard. you arent even a realy metalhead. or a music fan, you listin to underground music to seem cool dont you ? fuck face.

  • @yootesa1515 oh come on...stop acting like a woman, that was a joke.

  • Metallica is the Beatles, Megadeth is the Rolling Stones- of the thrash metal world anyway. Funny cos Lars Ulrich reminds me of Paul McCartney, something bout them both equates. KIMB was definitely the best debut from the Big 4 of thrash metal. Kill Em All seemed to juvenile and pedestrian, Fistful of Metal- not memorable enough and Show no Mercy had too much cheese but this album, not perfect- had more songcraft, riffs and better production. But had the worst cover outta the 4.

  • I like the album, but for different reasons than what you mentioned. You said it was fast and aggressive. But, I actually like the musicianship a lot, I mean, it sounds low quality and cheap, but tracks like The Skull Beneath The Skin and Rattlehead have some pretty awesome riffs and nice sounding tunes. My favorite has to be Looking Down the Cross, I find it has nice progressions and good solos and hell, even the lyrics are very well done, not something you'd expect from a rookie in a new band.

  • @iauFTW Yeah exactly. The musicianship! It's no coincidence some people compare them to a jazz band around that era. Truly unique stuff. And the production has never ever bothered me on this record. I don't know why; I guess it all fits with the anger pissed-off-ness of the whole thing. A freaking classic!

  • the band at the time spent most of their budget on drugs, food, and something else i cant remember lol

  • Dave can riff all he likes. Fuck me he tears it up on guitar but he clearly falls short on songwriting skills.

  • @tblaxxable Gotta strongly disagree he is a fantastic songwriter, has written some of the best songs.

  • Comment removed

  • @tblaxxable That's why he wrote songs like Good Mourning/Black Friday which showed more songwriting skills then any song Metallica ever did.

  • This IS my favorite Megadeth album. Love 'Rattlehead' !

  • @IamSnoogans Amen BRO!

  • Even if Metallica sounded more polished with Ride and Puppets, what counts are the tunes. And as good as Megadeth was you can't even compare them to Metallica at that time. Production value has zero to do with it. Puppets overshadows all Megadeth albums individually BUT that doesn't mean Dave sucks in any shape or form. He is brilliant - but not even close to Metallica at that time.

  • this is probably my favorite album by them. great review!

  • You should review the newest Devo cd

  • As someone who grew up in the generation of the big four, I tell you it wasn't always fun being a Megadeth fan. I lived in a small town surrounded by arrogant Metallica fans, who couldn't get past the fanboyism, to appreciate how gifted Mustaine truly is. I happen to like the raw production and is probably responsible for me enjoying bands like Darkthrone today.

  • @daveofsorrow i live in a town were megadeth is more respected than metalliica. lol

  • I love Mechanix, I think Horsemen is slightly better but Mechanix is good.

  • @patorr69 I like Mechanix better, its so much faster.

  • (Cont) The same way I consider Metallicas first four records, Slayer's first five (plus the Haunting the Chapel Ep), the first 3 Exodus albums, and Anthax's first 4 albums Thrash Classics. Thats why those are the most well known of the 80's Thrash acts I think. They put out classic after classic in the 80's and it didn't look like there was any end in sight..then of course came the 90's, the Black Album, and Grunge and the rest is history.

  • Killing is my Business is an excellent thrash debut for Megadeth and an excellent Thrash record in general. It's probably a classic, but IMO its not quite as good as Peace Sells or RIP. Probably a little bestter than So Far So Good. But if I were ranking Megadave's first four albums Killing is My Business would actually be at No.4 behind Peace Sells,RIP,and So far So Good.In fact I like So Far So Good a lot better than most.So I guess I'm saying MegaDeth's first four records are Thrash classics.

  • This album is a lot better than people give it credit for. Sure it's not as good as Peace Sells, but if you just write it off because of the production value you're missing out on a lot of classic songs

  • @Ichiboy900 I have friends who are so close minded they choose songs based on production value and generation it came from, also they "skim" through songs, which REALLY bugs me.

  • @Megadedly very well said. i have friends like that...kills me

  • @Megadedly skimming through songs bugs me too

  • @Megadedly I admittedly used to be like that. Glad that phase is over!

  • @Ichiboy900 i think killing is my business is a classic. every song is awesome. the only issue is its short length but like i always say, you can always hit the play button again on your stereo and relisten to it.

  • @chiaromontestephen Think of that as not short rather its that quick you don't know what just hit you :p

  • This was such an aggresive album cuz he was just kicked out and he needed to place that anger somewhere and then behold a great thrash album was made. I think Scott Ian said this was his favorite thrash album.

  • @silentbob890 Mustaine has such a unique riffing style and it was on full display on Killing is my Business. It was definitely unique amongst the thrash records that were around at the time mainly due to Mustaine's own riffing style and it is what in general makes MegaDeth such a great Thrash band. But I think The Four Horseman trumps Mechanix by a long shot.

  • "well, he's Dave Mustaine...an alcoholic, drug addicted, son of a bitch..." I lol'd so hard

  • love this album, thanks for reviewing this

  • yay
