His voice has definitely gotten older and a little wobbly, though not yet to the point where he can't sing opera anymore (thank God). If you compare this with the old 1980s version, you'll see a difference. He had to transpose it down for a reason. The passion is still there (perhaps more so than the aforementioned version). That cannot change. Very good for a man approaching 70. He deserved that applause.
