  • "opens the door to the galaxy" Yes,pls......:)

  • The premise of this show alone destroys most movie plots of today.

  • I remember this show having a better plot then most other series could it be?

  • 0:47 FTW!!!

  • No guts no glory!

  • Back in the day I always wished they made a show that looked as good as its intro.

  • That's some one hell of a fine animation! Love TMS and every Japanese and Korean animation studios!

  • Spaceships, Electric Guitar Solos, and Explosions...what a combo lol

  • 9 people were born too late

  • Eldric is deserving of thanks. This is SWEET!

  • Eldric sent me too :P

  • ELDRIC IS SO RIGHT

  • @kochvision Did you spell adventure wrong or is this how it is spelled in the show?

  • @DarkHUNTERjim ME TOO

  • DarkHunterJIM@ me too

  • eldric sent me

  • @DarkHunterJim Same!

  • The first time I watched the video I did not realize that the two peaceful aliens were aliens. I though they were an old man and a rabbit. The four protagonists look like they could be in their 30s or even 40s.

  • ummm are they all standing on pentagrams?

  • i missed ds one ;(

  • So glad I growed up in the 80's and 90's and got to watch show likes this!

  • 80s Music had sooo much more sole...

  • DAMN I loved that show!

but there HAVE to be some more dislikes....please!

  • GALAXY RANGERS

  • I used to beg my mom for a space horse. She wouldn't even get me a regular one. The cunt.

  • Certainly one of the best cartoons ever. New children just watch crap in tv these days.

  • Goosebumps!

  • 90's RRRROOOOOCCCCKKK !!!!!!!!!

  • I reckon new cartoons aren't so bad. Sure, most of them are crap, but you still have a couple of great shows nowadays. People just dwell on the shit and forget about the awful shows from their childhoods.

That said, Galaxy Rangers kicks arse.

  • One of the great shows that offerd a great theme. While the show itself was rather flat (not much action OR plot), it gave a good inspiration to later media. Most of the better descendants were animes like Bebop, Outlaw Star or Trigun, but that theme also gave us Serenity.

The "final frontier"-space-western theme is just great, beginning with Saber Rider, it produced only great shows.

  • @FunkyFips the 80s cartoons that people nostalgia over just had a lot of care put into their intros and that's about it, stuff like this hardly holds a candle to the few recent shows with genuine care put into them let alone amazing older stuff like Tom & Jerry or Looney Tunes shorts.

  • Those aliens violated the Prime Directive. They should have waited until WE invented a HyperDrive!

  • @Matt10670 hahahah looking back on this i thought the samething. "WTF?!?! you polluted our culture!"

  • What's Lionel Ritchie doing in that cartoon?

  • This was such a great show! But hy would two peaceful aliens come to Earth, of all planets, to look for help is beyond me...

  • Just got both DVD volumes in the mail from Amazon. An excellent addition to my 80s cartoon collection.

  • @FunkyFips i agree with you, but there are some good shows out now, especially "avengers earths mighties heroes" the art work doesnt agree with all, but the sotry and animation is very good, and it has a kick ass soundtrack.it is one of the best super hero cartoons i have seen... and i am a child of the eighties.iron man armoured adventures, wolverine &the xmen,,young justice are also worth a look.,

  • @ILLRICARDO Do not hold a candle to what was Galaxy Ranges. It's amazing how this cartoon was dark, and adult, "One Million Emotions" is one of more episodes of Cartoon freeks have ever seen. "Phoneix" is remarkable. Sorry but I don´t think it´s true man, today we have only crap (few years ago we had good stuff such as Samurai Champloo, but today... No way... only crap...)

  • @leocmen samurai champloo, is an anime, not american made... the eighties cartoon were the best, but for the first time in over 12 years, there are good cartoons hows being made, the new thundercats is awesome.. iron man armoured adventures is good too... but i am most impressved with the avengers cartoon, the storylines are amazing, even the character development, one of the best shows in over 10 years!!! give it a chance., just watch the first 2 episodes!!! you will be hooked

  • @ILLRICARDO New Thundercats is pure Anime (and the worse you can have, even remembers Pokemon when you see those squared faces and squared eyes), Galaxy Rangers was fully based on Anime style, even produced by Japanese, such as original Thundercats and SilverHawks. In most of the cases, Cartoon is crap in terms of animation. And Iron Man Armored... Honestly, It´s for children...

  • @leocmen just watch it , armoured adventures, its not all bad, especially when other marvel cameos appear in it, but not matter what you say, avengers earths mightiest heroes, is the best cartoon to come in ages, watch it,the story line is amazing, and will probabally be better than the live action movie comming out!!!

  • @ILLRICARDO Dear, I see you as an enthusiastic fan of the Marvel characters. Personally, I do not like these silly outfits, accompanied by preposterous stories (with the exception of Iron Man that does not insult my intelligence (at least not much, until Mandarin). I can not understand how we still have something like Captain America, a concept totally over. I'm looking for something cutting edge, something new and compatible with the second decade of the 21st century, and I do not find it.

  • If you look at chronologically, considering Star Blazers (I'know, I'know, it's an anime ...), Galaxy Rangers, Spawn, and comparing with these series totally child we see today, we see a full line of regression, involution, in which art is replaced by low cost cheaper massive production, and without content. We are lost, and walking back, going to the hole....

  • @ILLRICARDO im a child of the 80s but i'll check out those shows you mentioned. yes i agree the new thundercats is awesome!

  • @dtadeo2006 other than the 2004 he-man.... thundercats is the best reboot of an eighties cartoon show... i highly recomend, avengers earths mightiest heroes....it feels like an eighties cartoon show... when the kickass theme song plays, it just transports me back to the eighties... iron man armoured adventures too is very good, much better than the 1980 animated one!!!

  • @ILLRICARDO FINALLY someone else see how lovely the 2004 heman series was. They managed to take the most ridiculous cartoon and turn it into a fantasy story that flowed very well.

  • Only 75 years till we get that hyperdrive.

  • Imagine having to choose between this and Sabre Rider and the Star Sherifs. That would be my definition of agony.

  • @svenswart its a tough choice..... but saber rider has a giant cow boy robot, with optimus primes voice.... hard to beat!!!

  • @FunkyFips Cartoons have declined because they aren't done anymore by Japanese studios, that's why those 80's cartoons have that visual quality. Cartoons like: Thundercats, Silverhawks, Galaxy Rangers, Tigersharks, Dinosaucers, TMNT and many more were that appealing (visually) for the reason I just gave you.

But yeah, they've declined since then.

    Peace.

  • Four horsemen of the apocalyspe.... xD

  • fuck spongebob bring back these great cartoons from the 90's

  • Message to kids from me: Kids under 15, or even teens, you have no idea what you have missed from the 80. I recommend all of you to look up cartoons from the 80's and 90's, they are some of the best. Among them are: The Centurions, Galaxy rangers, captain planet, double dragons and others. Really, don't stick to what's on TV, that is just third grade work made by amateurs. The good ol days were the best. But fear not, because I have hope that they will come again...

  • @danhair i guarantee your parents can name 10 really good cartoons form their time and swear they were the best. things change dude. let todays kids enjoy what is out there today for them.

  • @highway955 What do kids these days really know? They watch TV and think that that's how it's been forever. They remain convinced that there isn't anything better, and just take what they see into their heads. As the older and wiser generation, we have to tell them that there 'the sky is not the limit', there are other things to see, that things used to be different. If the kids are interested or not, it's their choice, I am only satisfied that I try to open a new door for them...

  • @danhair well yea that was the age of golden cartoons pretty much.

  • @danhair I was born in the late 80s,,Mostly everything from the 80s and 90 were simply put,,perfect,,thats a big statement,,but i mean cartoons then were simply perfect,,nothing bad.

  • @danhair

The centurions even captain planet, they are weak, Galaxy Rangers, Captain Future these are the shows you should go for :D

  • @danhair you should watch young justice now that is an 80's worthy cartoon

  • @BarbarianBadAss I am. That's why I said there are some exceptions and that the good old days are coming back. I was referring to these new series...

  • @danhair You say this because you didn't see Young Justice.

  • @danhair oooh yes I strongly agree , moreover they taught kids to be good citizens

  • @danhair We have no idea what we missed from the 60's :P ( Well i do i watch 60's stuff)

  • Ah.....back in the days...

  • Alot of the best kids animation were very early in the morning. The really good ones on Saturday early mornings. The crappy stuff they ran Saturdays late morning and afternoon. Thats how you missed it.

  • 6 people are not taking a stand!

  • For the now generation who don't know about Galaxy Rangers. You serioulsy missed out! Epic opening!

  • Ok how the hell did I miss this as a kid?

HOW DID I MISS THIS AS A KID?!

  • i still remember when they cancelled this. Someone got shot in the head and parents complained and that was it gone.

  • lol and to think people call fosters home for imaginary friends a good show, poor kids, dont know what they missed.

  • I have my entire GR recorded in digital format and is all episodes. I would like to upload to youtube, but before doing so, is there copyright protection?

  • @FunkyFips

ok this came out in the 80s yes? cartoons peaked in the 90s with batman the antimated series and died away around 200-05

  • need hyper drive - pls give plans!

  • K, Am I the only one who gets a chill when the keyboard kicks in after the introduction? It's like "Here we go!"

  • Space Cowboys? That just happened.

  • interesting that they are not only four horsemen but stand on an inverted pentagram... fuck i really need to stop visiting Vigilant Citizen -.-'

  • @Murilo15 Man, i never would have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out. They are standing on a pentagram. Crazy!

I really wish i were more aware as a kid...

  • @Stigmatainmypants man i really wish i never had visited the Vigilant Citizen website, and now would have the awareness of a kid, and be happy

  • @Murilo15 Who cares if they're standing on a pentagram? Retards and people who visit Vigilant Citizen, apparently. OH WAIT THAT'S REDUNDANT.

  • @jacobkosh just so u know it, i dont care but now i notice this kind of stuff more easily so i decided to comment on that... and just a note, i didnt mean to hurt anyone's feeling by commenting on that so dont come offending just because u felt hurt that ppl points things up that u dont like... i mean i didnt even say it was a shitty cartoon or anything like that for u to be so offended

  • Gooseman!

  • This is a childrens show , why the h is there a beer commercial before it?!

  • Wow! This brings back memories!

  • This show was appointment television for me! Even though I didn't buy into the whole "space western" theme, I loved its "space opera" side, great animation and its grittier, more mature storylines. I forgot how awesome the theme song was. Like "Firefly", this show had great potential.

  • @FunkyFips i agree... but recently they started to get better. there are 4 shows that have really good... wolverine and the x men, the spectacular spider man, iron man armored adventures and avengers earths mighties heroes are the best cartoon since the eighties....after spiral zone the last of the late and great eighties cartoon. every thing sucked for a good 15 years before ,things started to get better...inbetween the 2002 heman was preety good though..but eighties will live forever

  • When the Iron Curtain came down, so did the quality of cartoons & music.

While the Soviets were too busy building barriers for their own citizens, we were looking towards the freedom called outer space.

With all of the technology we have today, we can still have music sounding like this & cartoons of the same ilk.

  • me li ricordo... erano sempre inc..zati

  • @FunkyFips me too, todays cartoon sucks, i bought the whole galaxy rangers on dvd and my kids love them so much so i have to look on ebay for old toys from this series^^

  • Great cartoon!!!

  • @FunkyFips Adventure time, flapjack, the regular show.

those cartoons are more awesome then this boring lump of shit :I

althought the older powerangers are still better then the new ones. (but powerangers is not a cartoon.)

  • its wery sad that this video is not selling anymore

  • Only 75 more yrs before we are visited by 2 peaceful aliens seeking our help....lol

  • Goose & his Invincible Badge He was the Man No question? :)

  • Watching this is bringing tears to my eyes and making my pores raise!!! I miss this cartoon!!! The people that don't like this, excuse them, they're young they don't know anything about it. It was before their time. :)

  • This cartoon was among the best of the 80s. It had many sci/fi elements that were well above the level of most cartoons now and then.

  • Goddamn ads. Cut it out, Youtube

  • When did this air? I don't remember it at all- same with 'Bravestarr', 'Saber Rider,', etc. I know we had cable in the 1980s

  • @richintalent 1986-1987, and it's not surprising you didn't get to see it. It was on in syndication, meaning time slots and stations were erratic. It also wasn't designed to sell action figures. Worse, the show attracted an audience of high school and college students, not toy-buying kids. As a result, it was on and off the air faster than Firefly in the US. It did better in Brazil and the UK, and inexplicably did really well in Germany.

  • @Allronix There were Galaxy Ranger Action figures.

  • @MAULERK I know there were action figures and such in the UK and Germany, but not the States.

  • In 2086, Two Peaceful Aliens journey to Earth, Seeking our Help. In Return, They Gave us the Plans for our First "Hyperdrive", Allowing Mankind to Open the Doors to the Stars. We have Assembled a Team of Unique Individuals to Protect Earth and our Allies. Courageous Pioneers Committed to the Highest Ideals of Justice, and Dedicated to Preserving Law and Order Across the New Frontier. These are the Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers.

  • @AaronBruceLadner We called that a Mass Effect

  • @MegaAsh

What the hell are you talking about?

  • @MegaAsh *snicker* Considering it would not be hard to convert Mass Effect's engine into a GR game? Niko's a straight-up Biotic, but can't decide on the class. Shane you could probably fudge into a Vanguard. Doc's an Engineer and Zach's likely Soldier.

  • Most people don't remember Galaxy Rangers. This was an incredible cartoon.

  • @trappedwarrior best scifi cartoon. this is way underrated because it doesn't have any giant robots^^

  • 80's best decade ever!

  • Comment removed

  • best cartoons intro ever...

  • its like the fantastic four, only that in the future...in space and its also a western

    holy shit it was awesome

  • @bazzjedimaster: Infinitely better than Bravestar.

  • No guts, no glory...

These are words to live by.

  • oh man... i'm 10 again ;_;

  • 0.37 - 1.00... so short, but cartoon intro perfection.

Second only to Thundercats intro, in my opinion.

  • At Last! The good quality i was looking for. This is one of the best series in the 80's Thanks bro!

  • God this opening is still so BOSS

  • I want to defeat some bad-guy's

  • What ever happened to cool intros like these?

  • JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAAJAJAJA

  • WHAT AN EPIC QUALITY !!!!!

    FUCKIN YES BABY !!!!

  • Only aired for a few months in 1986.

  • One of my all-time favorites. Much love. :)

  • Saber Rider was better!!

  • @Exverlobter Saber Rider had a tighter mytharc and storyline, and also had the fascinating Jesse Blue. However, I preferred GR because the universe and characters were better developed. Example: We only learned ONE of the Riders' full names and backstory (April Eagle). GR developed backstories for three of the leads (series was canned before they explored Doc's history). They also didn't have the formulaic restrictions SR did, so could do a wider variety of stories.

  • @Allronix

Yes the character development could have been better. Otherwise we know that Saber Rider was just the byproduct of the original Japanese "Bismarck" series. However, some executives thought that the Bismarck arc and also itÄs character development would habe been to complicated and unethical for little children. So they simplified the whole series. Although i love SB i am curious how the Bismarck series worked out. THe problem is that they never translated the original version.

  • wait. Dis saberrider steal this or did galaxy rangers steal it from them? o.O

  • @DasHinchen It's more like three Space Westerns hit at the same time. Saber Rider was developed in Japan in 1982, but didn't get to America until 1987. Bravestarr debuted in 1987. GR was written, voiced, and storyboarded in America in 1985, airing in 1986.

  • best theme ever!!!

  • can't wait till 2086!

  • The character of Goose was a combo of Clint Eastwood and wolverine.

  • @filter021 NICE!

  • @feargrim that's what me and my friend(avid comic fans) thought, if you remember Goose's nemesis he acted a lot like sabertooth.

  • @filter021 I thought he was a combo of Clint Eastwood (the real one not Michael J. Fox), Wolverine and Morph.

  • Damn! I loved this show as a young man (and still and a 35-year old one too). The intro music for 80's and some early 90's cartoons were fantastic. Masculine, cool and tough without any hint of being gay...now you can't be a man without being labelled 'repressed'. WTF is up with that!?

  • Man I miss this show! full of awsome it was.

Shame cartoons now adays lack the sheer awsomeness of the 80s cartoons.

  • looks like the guy at the end could handle this job solo.

  • flashback music

  • so cowboys in space

    retarded

  • @JamOneSeven Yet now we have firefly and serenity!

  • cool cartoon! cartoons nowadays suck ass

  • She could also go invisible

  • I think she has psychic powers, quite obvious.

  • Nice, except for the part where they stand on the glowing pentagrams to transform. IN ritual use, there would even be five candles placed at the locations of where the dots are, at each point. Just where do these guys get that power anyways?

  • @ukulelemike I think they used science, guy. LOL

  • @ukulelemike Dude...the five pointed star is meant to emulate a sheriff's badge. The crew's abilities are mostly inborn (Niko's psionics, Shane's biodefenses, Doc's already genius-level hacking ability), aside from Zach who had to be fitted with bionics due to injuries sustained in "Phoenix." They have an implant in their heads charged by the platforms, & activated by their badge. Mandell was clueless about the pentagram symbolism until a Wiccan fan pointed it out a decade later.

  • Wow u know galaxy rangers inside out ... great explination of each of their special abilities ...

  • @DJACOBHD I should hope so - I used to run a very large fansite and fanfic archive for the series. It's still my fallback fandom, and I'll put nods to it in other fandoms I work with. For example, my default player character in Mass Effect is an Earthborn Engineer class with the name of "Walter" and my default player character in KOTOR is named "Niko."

  • 6 people have no guts and no glory

  • Cartoons back them had such great theme songs...

Check out the Bionic Six theme song... quite possibly one of the best.

  • isnt she psychic

  • NOSTALGIAAAAA

  • Fascinating. I can't believe I never heard of this until I saw the clips in an 80s cartoon tribute. Now I might just have to look this up.

  • This, imho was the baddest cartoon of the 80's, then was thundercats, and transformers.

  • @Krazyboy124 It could get moody, dark, downright scary. The heroes could get hurt, and there wasn't some idiot with a magic sword to whip out and solve everything in the last five minutes. Sometimes, the Rangers even LOST. Airbender and Clone Wars are worthy successors to this one.

  • that black ranger is my nigga!

  • Thumbs up if the voice over guy is Alan Kalter

  • i want dat arm! 0.45! standard!

  • i want dat arm!

  • 20 years later and that song still pumps me up!! God i was so in-love with that woman galaxy ranger :)

  • God this damn cartoon was the shit. I miss these cartoons because nowadays, cartoons are just full of shit. Adult Swim and it's junk. Except Family Guy and Boondocks, the rest are shit

  • Was it just me or at least some of you guys had also a crush for Niko?

  • @javiercaselli Probably about EVERY straight male watching. Female viewers like yours truly had a three-way split of Estrogen Brigade Bait

  • I met the creator of this show when I was like 14 or 15. He was teaching classes on how to draw comics for marvel and dc. I saw he rough drafts. Awesome stuff. I miss shows like this and the stuff that is coming out now is just garabage.

  • This intro ROCKS

  • the woman had psychic powers

  • Man if the todays kids have the opportunity to watch THESE CARTOONS... i mean.. this is entertainment..

  • that voice is stan lee

  • great animations for a 90th series

  • four horsemen on stars of david...

  • @101101101777 Dude, that's a pentagram not the star of david!

  • @dtwardy oops, lol....um, same thing?
