it helps alot to do that to get the sound out XD and theres alot of tuners that you can just plug the bass into it and tune to perfection there. and yes you probably should but its your choice!:D

I normally don't post, but this is too good to pass up. Expert Village people truly suck. Ha! I just said Village people. Anyway, the "knobs" and "pegs" he's referring to are called "Machine heads". Teach harmonic tuning, and Carvin basses are a huuuuge piece of crap. The singing rocks, though.
