  • @italiandude321 The CETME style or HK, is the roller delayed blowback system and also like you, my favorite system. There is just something about it I love, the only other gun that really grabs me like that is an SVD. Thanks bro... : )

  • FAL is french in the southern part of belgium they speak french in the north they speak flemish ( dutch dialect).

  • @Pacmanf100 Ya, I am not the best with stuff like that but I am trying. Thanks. : )

  • Why is there an Obama add on the side of a gun video? disgrace!

  • @iLikeGuns88 I agree with you but unfortunately I have no control over what Google runs on my pages. I agree its a disgrace and it sickens me when I see it. Thanks and I am on your side. : )

  • @ChromeFreak123 Ha! Well nice to know. Great video by the way. It was very detailed and informative. I'll hopefully be getting my own STG-58 soon.

  • @iLikeGuns88 I hope you do and make a video when you get it, to share it with us all. Thanks. : )

  • The gas plug on the STG 58 is Austrian Styer. Most of the metric style have an in line cut for normal firing and a smooth side for grenade launching. The metal hand guards were used by the Neatherlands,Germany, and Austria according to Small Arms of the World 1977 edition. They also had a dust cover that could be feed with a stripper clip which Belgium briefly,Luxembourg, and Canada had on their rifles.By the way great video!Im shooting mines tommorow.

  • @reddevilparatrooper Thanks for some great info. : ) Please, when you upload your video, send me a link, I would love to see it. Thanks again. : )

  • @ChromeFreak123 What about Enterprise receivers? Aren't those, for the most part, a no no?

  • awesome video I want to make my own

  • @cesilio I wish you would. I love watching others videos and welcome all to hop on the video bandwagon. I will watch it, if you make it. Please, let me know if you decide to do it. Thanks. : )

  • Looks more like a DSA. Not an FN.

  • Thanks for the feedback. I was not trying to be critical at all. Your buddy really seems to know his stuff overall and I was half thinking that he already knew what I said below but just got tounge tied. The russians basically did the same thing with the AK and SKS. Their full power rifle round is a 7.62 x 54 rimmed cartridge and the AK round is a 7.62 x 39. Again it is basically the large round cut in half as a comprimise between a sub machine gun round and full power round.

  • @Seanhickey100 Thank you so much, I will let John know so He can comment back but we have been working very long hours so very little yt time. lol. Thanks again and I will have John answer you back. : )

  • Good overall video. Very early in the video, reference was made to the German Kurtz round for the Stg 44 as a 7.33 mm. The round was actually a 7.92 mm x 33 mm round which was roughly the the German full power 7.92 x 57 cut in half. I am quite familiar with the FAL but this video is excellant for those just starting to learn.

  • @Seanhickey100 Thank you so much and I am sure John would love to chime in and comment back to you, I will let him know and thanks buddy. : )

  • this gun is a very good gun it was a widely used in the Nicaraguan civil war my family loved it in that war it was very reliable they said

  • @SouthSideNicoya That is sad that you had war but its great to hear about your family. This rifle is a thing of beauty. The reliability is one of its great points. Thank you. : )

  • Ah, the FAL. You say the camera doesn't do it justice, but whether or not that's the case, the beauty of this specimen is breathtaking. Simply wonderful. As I have said elsewhere, visiting a military base in Brazil, I was able to see one up close in the hands of a (none too happy) guard. It had a Type C bayonet, IIRC. One would assume it was the Brazilian version.

I'll catch the response video to see about its relation with the M14!

  • @DemonHide Thanks for watching brother. I am happy to see you commenting. : )

  • i live in lake worth and i had to sell my ar 15, i have 340 rounds in box of .223 55grain FMJBT... the brand is PMC if amyone wants to buy message me im only asking for 50 bucks... i am willing to drive and meet somwhere if you would like

  • @MrBharrington I will take it off your hands. PM me and I will give you my # and then we can meet up, probably on Friday. Thanks bro...

  • at no point was your camera in focus, i'm really hoping you aren't stupid enough to buy a new camera when you don't know how to operate the one that you have.

  • @richardninertwo Thanks for your constructive criticism. : )

  • Comment removed

  • @THEKOOL4iDMAN697 That rifle is on the review and disassembly list. Thanks. : )

  • Love your vids man, Just picked up a SA58. Definitely a great battle rifle.

  • @downriverfirepower Sounds like you are very happy to get one. I hope to be able to feel the same way very soon. I am on the hunt for a good one. lol. I would love to see a vid on yours, that would be great . I appreciate you adding to the comments, I love the comment section. : )

  • @ChromeFreak123 It's good to talk to other gun nuts. I'll be putting up my DSA SA58 video shortly. Thanks for the info.

  • @downriverfirepower looking forward to that video. Thanks. : )

  • Love the FAL,have several myself. If there

is one improvement needed in the original

design would be a forward assist option

    like the izzy version!

    Jman

  • @Kabul81 Well I wish I had a couple myself. lol. Those were Johns rifles but I am wanting one badly. There are so many different parts kits I wish I would have bought back in the day. Oh well, could have , should have but I didn't. : ( The parts kit are not what they use to be. Thanks for your contribution to the comment board. It is much appreciated. : )

  • @RPK74s I want it also, it is my friend Johns rifle and it is a thing of beauty. lol. Thanks for all bro... and hope you are having a great 4th. : )

  • Great, great video gentlemen!!! Awesome firepower! Talk to you soon Mikey!

  • @kwgunworks Thanks brother, tomorrow will be a great day. : )

  • @ChromeFreak123 Yes it will be :) bye bye ballistol...

  • This is my dream of a rifle. Really great piece of history - the FAL. I'd prefer this over any battle rifle. Though it is funny, when they denied Germany the license production, FN created their biggest compeditor, the cheaper and easier to produce G3.

  • @RhodiesNeverDie Great to hear from you my friend. Things work out the way they do for a reason and it is funny because, I love the roller delayed blowback G3 over the FAL and you love the FAL more. lol. I love the comments and thank you my friend. : )

  • @ChromeFreak123 I never had the occasion to shoot a FAL. We only had the G3 in the army. So maybe its just the desire for something, I don't have. Still I like both the G3 and the FAL. But the FAL looks so sexy.

    Thanks again for the video.

  • @RhodiesNeverDie That it does my friend. It is a beautiful piece. Thanks as always and please stay in touch. : )

  • Beautiful boom stick you got there!

  • @ike1371 Thank you Sir. : )

  • Nice video!

  • @ArtisanTony Thanks Tony, I know you are happy to have your little man home. : )

  • @ChromeFreak123 haha, yes! and thanks!

  • you ever used a cetme? i was thinking of getting one as my first rifle, because they are inexpensive and like a ghetto FAL

  • @psychoclown420 If you look in my play list, I have several CETME videos from the review to complete disassembly and also spacing the the bolt and carrier, it is very interesting, you should check them out. The roller delayed system of the CETME, G3 and H&K is my favorite operating system but nothing at all like the FAL that is based more along the line of a piston drivin AK. I prefer the CETME to the FAL only because I love that system but the FAL is easier to work on. Thanks. : )

  • They speak flemish, french and german in belgium. FN is located in the french part, flemish is almost the same as dutch. The capitalization FAL is french

  • @keesurt Cool. Thanks. : )

  • Great FAL review.

  • @Everett07630 Thank you Sir. : )

  • it is a beauty, but you know i like my walnut stocks!

  • not to troll or be a hater, but why get a FAL when you can get an M-14/M1A?

  • @Alexn1067 I lovce the M14 but if you are a collector of military firearms, you will want the m14 and also a FN FAL. Its that simple and to be completely honest, the FAL is a better battle rifle. IMHO. I don't want any hate either, I love all of them and my American firearms are my babies but I have to be honest. Thanks. : )

  • @ChromeFreak123 for collecting absolutely. Preference varies, ( I happen to favor the M-14), but from a design standpoint, M-14 is simpler. Its basically an improved variant of a classical and iconic battle rifle. I am not speaking from experience in regards to the FAL (unlike the M-14, I've never messed with them), but I've heard from other guys that they suck in comparison, like I said, not from my own experience. I guess I am curious as to your impressions on it.

  • @Alexn1067 You're comparing apples to oranges. The FAL isn't a precision battle rifle, it was an infantry rifle designed to compete against the AK47. While the FAL isn't as actuate as the M14, the military FAL could deliver controllable full auto fire - a feat the M14 design failed at. The M14 was better used as a DMR - the role it's used today within the U.S. military. When you say the FAL "sucks" based on the experience of "other guys" that doesn't carry much objective weight - no offense.

  • @Everett07630 no offense taken. I openly admitted that my knowledge of the FAL is limited. All I know is that I've seen it field stripped and to me its seems like a jig saw puzzle lol and for that reason alone, it hasn't sparked much interest with me.

  • @Alexn1067 I have owned 4 M1 Garands and 2 M1a( M14). The design of the FAL is way simpler than either one of our great battle rifles. I am huge fan of the M14 and the M1Garand. The M14 is an upgraded M1 Garand with a removable box magazine. The FAL is based on a completely diffrerent operating system and is much easier to take down IMHO. If you were to ever hold an FAL and have someone disassemble itin front of you, you would be shocked. In fact, watch the full video, we do just that in it.

  • @Everett07630 I believe it is just as accurate if not more than the M14. I agree with you completely on taking others words on something. I will say they are all great rifles. All should be in every military collectors arsenal and of course, everyone has their favorites. I love the commenting. Thank you guys. : )

  • @ChromeFreak123 The FAL averages about 3MOA. The USGI M14 averaged 1MOA. Do a bench test, you'll see. Not picking favs here, as I like both rifles.

  • @Everett07630 There is no doubt that the M1A/M14 is more accurate in the hands of a marksmen but an average shooter like myself will not know the difference in a 1moa rifle and a 2or3 moa rifle. I love both rifles also and I have never owned an FN FAL, have shot before though. All I am saying is it easier to take down completely and if you are shooting irons at 100, I would not be able to see a difference but that's me. : )

  • @ChromeFreak123 The FAL is certainly a proven infantry rifle. It filled the role that it was designed for and was ahead the design curve for its time. The closest we'll get to a real FAL today is a DS Arms build. Don't know much about the DS Arms FAL builds, other than they're better quality than a Century Arms frankenstein gun.

  • @Alexn1067 The commercial Springfield & Fulton M1A rifles are built using investment cast receivers / parts. These are firearms aren't built to mil spec and therefore use weaker material prone to cracking / KBs. A mil spec M14 uses a hammer forged heat-treated receiver / parts. If you want a true mil spec M14 type rifle (semi-auto of course), buy a FORGED custom-built Long Island Arms or Smith Enterprise rifle. Be prepared to pay $2K-$4K though, but they're much better quality.

  • @Alexn1067 I do not know how in the world you think the M14 is a simpler design, it's just not. I have owned 2 of them and can tell you from taking them down completely, they are more complex than the FAL. I am very impressed with the FAL's simple take down and also its attention to the operator and it being very ergonomic to him. I love the back and forth of the comments. : )

  • @ChromeFreak123 I'll watch your take down vid, I don't shun knowledge even if it proves me wrong. What it is with me, is I went to a Military school where they issued us the M-14, mine was a TRW made in 1961 and I could get that thing taken apart and put back together in less then 45 seconds blindfolded. So I'm a little partial to it.

  • @ChromeFreak123 Nice specimen sir.

  • @ChromeFreak123 I did watch a field strip of the FAL video and I can see how some would favor the ergonomics on the FAL. You have better access to individual parts, whereas the M-14 you almost have to completely break it down to get at the bolt. Overall though, it seems like in a complete strip, the FAL would have more components to deal with.

  • Now I have a rifle that has moved to the top of my must buy list. What a gorgeous rifle.Outstanding information.I feel a lot more confident about things to look for when shopping. Thanks to you and John.Great video bud.

  • @unomas58 Brother, I am with you. John is the man, every word came from his head and no cheat sheets were used in any video He does with me, He is an unbelievable resource on military firearms and a very good friend. : )

  • Fantastic in depth video, great information!

    Thanks guys!

  • @ristin59 Thanks Gary, John makes it look easy but He is a walking brainiac. lol. : )

  • Is it reliable of an ak or close to it?

  • @nelson0110 In that I would say no. I would think in normal weather conditions and with proper cleaning and upkeep, the FAL would have no problem keeping up with the very tough and reliable AK. However, in extreme and in dirty conditions, because of the loose tolerances of the AK, I would think it would be more reliable but in all cases I would say without reservation that the FAL would kill the AK in accuracy. I love all these battle rifles, both foreign and domestic. Thanks. : )

  • Belgium speaks French. Browning taught himself the language.

  • @VinnyS914 I think they speak a couple of languages but I am know linguistics expert. Browning was am amazing man. Thank you Sir. : )

  • Great video I got 2 original FN FALs since 2003 BUT FN no longer manufactures FAL

anymore too bad My country formerly used that gun they either threw to the ocean or sold to lucky collectors, the originals are extremely hard to find now in my country but I heard imbel built FAL rifles are top quality.

  • @Playvoodoo I would love to hear more about the rifles and hwo the laws are in your country. I really appreciate you watching and would love to talk more with you. Thanks my friend. : )

  • It owes alot more to the BAR than the STG44.

  • @locknloadvideo ? Thanks. Oh, I see what you are saying, I will stick with John on this one. Unless, you are jusyt thinking in overall terms of history and how Brownings design affected the way others designed theirs then in that case, yes I am with you. : )

  • @locknloadvideo You know that guy was Brownings aprentice? I found that out a few months ago

  • @BigZeb5 there so nice... i think like the best rifle...a little heavy but light rocoil for .308 and dissambles quickly.

  • i feel spoiled...i got 1 for my 15th b-day

  • @rustlerbadass Lucky you, one for being young, I am an old fart and 2 for getting sucha beautiful battle rifle. Thanks for watching, it means a lot to me. : )

  • @ChromeFreak123 haha yea it was that or $100...no brainer

  • @BigZeb5 It is a pleasure believe me you won't for get your first FN FAL. lol. : )

  • Yes he does know what he is saying as I have heard the same thing not to argue but they have worked out the problems they had before and have a life time warranty now and since they are close to me I went with them cuz dsa over here is like 1400 dollars and above and they are out of state so it was easier for me. And i didnt want to go with a century cuz well its century. You know? Not to be an asshole

  • @adearth531 I hear you brother, no problems here. It is hard to argue with a lifetime warranty, I hope you don't need to use it. I am sure not every firearm made by some of the companies John mentioned are bad but as a scope of what to look for, He will narrow down the good from the bad. it is not to say you have a bad gun. Its all good brother. Thanks. : )

  • hey guys, Excellent vid! Just a couple of points: first, the caliber is actually 7.92x33 kurz (stg42-45 series) the 7x33 sako was a finn round that was mainly a bolt gun cartridge. Two, it is not well known but austria exported the Fn to america in the 70,s the company was I believe Mandall arms out of ariz. I really enjoy these vids and plan on meeting all of you someday.

  • @Red9Man763 Thanks bro..., I will let John answer you back and He has had other guys in other vidoe say something and when He either miss speaks or is wrong, He will admit it. I will tell him to read your comment and we welcome all of them. I would love to meet every one also, If you live in the South Florida area, we will be at the WPB Fairgrounds next weekend for the gun show, come on down and meet us. Thanks.

  • @TheQ3XXX I appreciate you watching and commenting. it means a lot to me, I know John is going to want to read these comments and may message back. Thanks.

  • i love the FN FAL's more than AK's. this from some one who has an AK tattoo.

  • @Mr683465 They are well oiled machines man. I am so wanting one now. lol. When you hold something that is built so nice and you pull the slide back and it feels like ice, you know you have a nice piece in your hands. Thanks bro... : )

  • My entreprise arms fal is amazing what's great is they are located like 20 mins from my house in irvine so I got mine for 699. It was supposed to be a blemished model but there is not one defect in the finish on it. Really my favorite rifle just having trouble finding mags.

  • @adearth531 I will ask John for a good source for mags. WHat He says is golden to me, He is an amazing collector and knows what He is talking about. I appreciate you watching and thank you. : )

  • will you ever do this kind of video for the H&K G3 or the Sig Sauer 550 (551,552) ?

  • @Dragon12203 I have done it for the CETME which is the same firearm as the G3 and the H&K is very sweet as well and I just might end up with one, we will see. I do think the CETME does cover both of those rifles though. The Sig is a possibility, we will see. Thanks for your input and I will do my best. : )

  • What about Century arms lowers? Thanks to this vid I now think I got ripped off! great job Thanks!

  • @Iwillbedurnd I am sorry to hear that but I can tell you that what John says is pretty much right on. If your firearm works, then just enjoy it for what it is but if things are falling apart with it, them maybe other people will not get ripped like you say you did. I am sorry but I at least hope you get enjoyment out of shooting it for as long as you can. Thanks.

  • I didn't request this video... 'cuz i didn't know it was an option! Had i known you could get your hands on one i would have requested it too! Awsome condition! A PERFECT, MINT condition FN FAL is a beautyful thing to behold..... Thanks for shareing:-)

  • @ZeaMoore4 You are welcome and sure is beautiful in every way. : )

  • Looks like the older brother of my SA58. =^)

  • @TacticalCitySlicker Beautiful rifles, that is for sure. Thanks. : )

  • Clean looking weapon. Great design :)

  • @MyHollowpoint Its a beauty, thank you Sir. : )
