I get a early 20's player hitting 300 with 25 hr and never stay in the majors, it's ludicrously silly, and the short stints in the majors are always better numbers (average, hr per ab's) than the AAA/AA numbers. Like it or not, this game has improved by leaps and bounds over 2K8. They share development teams with NBA 2K9, so there isn't anywhere else to go but up with the MLB series. I'm really impressed by what I've seen.
i couldn't stand 08 the show. they had a bunch of game modes and all of them were really in-depth, but pitching, hitting, and fielding was just not as much fun as 2K. I just can't understand why people continue to enjoy hitting X to swing, X to pitch, and a button to field.
2K8 made some good strides in advanced controls, and i think maybe they were too advanced for some people, so they made them really mind-numbingly simple. 2K really needs to work on their game modes too.

Was toying with buying this. As much as I want 2k to succeed. This is crap! Especially after little competition from EA after buying MLB rights to only use them. If EA can only use NFL rights... Tell me how Sony can produce and sell a game in the US with the MLB logos and player names if 2k owns them? A lot of 2k programmers got hired by EA and layed off. I think it's going to be a really good game, every website has said that they have made phenomenal improvements to everything. Also, it has the player update feature of NBA 2k9, that alone makes me want to buy the game.

Ah I played the game. It have MLB 2k8 pitching but it kinda improved it have Swing Stick 3.0 nothing special. The Graphic is much better than mlb 2k8. The Modes in game is Franchise Mode,Home-Run Derby,Single Player,Rivalry Mode that about it.

Was toying with buying this. As much as I want 2k to succeed. This is crap! Especially after little competition from EA after buying MLB rights to only use them. If EA can only use NFL rights... Tell me how Sony can produce and sell a game in the US with the MLB logos and player names if 2k owns them? A lot of 2k programmers got hired by EA and layed off. Why can't the NBA2K guys work on baseball?!!! Also the NHL EA programmers work on Madden? Actually let's not tamper with the right people.

is it just me or did they make it look like an arcade game? They actually dumbed the look down, looks like they did not improve it.
Gameplay doesnt look that good, hope its better then it looks(will not know till game comes out as there will be no demo, this isnt 09 after all.) they know people wont buy if they play demo(09's demo came out about 2 weeks ago)
does franchise include waivers and all that? if not why not? what they do then?

Get the MLB 09 the show. MLB 2k9 will same as MLB 2k8 but will better graphic.s same modes and stuffs.

wow.. last year I bought both 08 and 2k8..
this year I am only buying 09. and after looking at gameplay and checking what features they are going to have, Im glad I decided to only get 09..
I though 2k8 was ok but after playing 08 more, now im addicted and will be playing till 09 comes out. I might rent it(I rent for free so wont be wasting money on this game).. and if it is good might get it off $10 rack next year.
Till then 09 the show it is.

I had 360 in 2005 a year b4 it came out but, this is embarrassing! Is this Ps2? Thank god I bought PS3 last month. MLB 08 the Show is amazing!!!!!!!! I love 2K but, this is a horror show. The Show 09 is even better. (Demo so far) Not even close. Stick to NBA and EA stealing a great football game 2K. NHL is EAs game and Sony has by far the #1 Baseball game. Not close! Get a PS3 for Blu-ray, internet and some games. I used to hate the PS3 and now impressed me.

Please 2k sports, don't fuck me over again by making me spend $60 for a piece of shit game like 2k8 last year. This one looks awesome but I've been fooled before. M.V.P 05 was the best i ever played. This game has the look just like MVP did, that's why I'm excited. Can some one tell me if this game has glitches and bugs like 2k8 did last year?

I think it's going to be a really good game, every website has said that they have made phenomenal improvements to everything. Also, it has the player update feature of NBA 2k9, that alone makes me want to buy the game.

I can't believe how good the commentating is, actually better than the show. The only thing that really sucks are the graphics. 2K7 had the best graphics, these almost remind me of 2K3 lol. I can just imagine how bad the gameplay is gonna be. I'm not gonna throw my money away on good commentating. MLB The Show is the game to get.

Ah I played the game. It have MLB 2k8 pitching but it kinda improved it have Swing Stick 3.0 nothing special. The Graphic is much better than mlb 2k8. The Modes in game is Franchise Mode,Home-Run Derby,Single Player,Rivalry Mode that about it.
