  • what score on the barb test is required for the AAC

  • @starzscream614 55 or above.

  • @MidgardMessiah its 48 for soldier je. and se.

  • great vid of the best corps of the army

  • What you do in the AAC mate? Hopefully becoming a groundcrew specialist in a few months time!

  • Comment removed

  • I want to join! I'm 17 though and currently in South Africa. One day i'll be there.

  • Good Vid. Great to see the the corps in action. I'm ex 1 Reg, 661 (Hildesheim), 660 (HK & Brunei) and 654 (NI) Sqn. 1984-1990

  • Great vid man :) - I wanna join the Army Air Corps when i'm older. Stay safe!

  • @ICanHazPenguin cool m8 same here try to get a least 2 Scottish standard grades aids a lot when you joining im joining in 3/4 yrs

  • what is that chopper at 0:55?

  • Word: Awesome

  • usa british = terrorists

  • graet motivational vid, coz i´m in the first phases of applying to join the AAC myself...

  • @daveslow84

SAME! i doing my aircrew aptitude test‎ in 2 months, then hoping to go to sandhurst next year, i honestly cant wait to start flying again. tutors get very boreing after 7 years. i think a helecopter will make a nice change, not forgetting the experiance you will have.

  • @123456789r2

    good luck to you!!!

have you had your test yet? i myself am invited for my first interview in about three weeks :)

  • Great video mate.

Hoping to join the AAC in the near future.

  • to join the air corp's, you have to serve about 5 year's, then apply, yeah this may sound stupid, you need to know what ground unit's are doing.:) good luck.

  • are you sure? it says on the web page for enrolling that an officer "may" be asked to complete an attachment with the royal armoured corps or infantry unit. Personally it seems a bit unfair, if you need 3 A levels to be an officer pilot and have A level maths and a science to be told you will join the cannon fodder (that what an ex soldier in the infantry unit told me) seems really unfair and for 5 years.

  • @tobyaddams No it's true, math & physics a- levels are good, any previous flying exsperiance or served time in the forces, will do you the world of good.

Like i said before you need to know what the ground units are doing, my information is from family, ie military personal, or from the commercial aviation background. Have fun :)

  • @oiamryaan you dont need to serve 5 years. i had my interview today, i doing aircrew aptitude test‎ then a 48 week officer training course at sandhurst then i apply to the AAC but because i will have doen my test already im pretty much garunteed a place, but of course defence cuts and that. but basically, talk to your nearest carreers officer,

  • @123456789r2 Yeah im a commercial Pilot for Ba, that was the info i was gave.

  • @oiamryaan like 123456789r2 said u dnt need to serve 5 years b4 u can apply. ive got through to my selection in a couple of weeks, and if i get through tht ill go straight in, obviously after basic training. and like im doing, goin in at groundcrew level its 4 years till u can apply for aircrew after a promotion

  • Army Air Corps... They are just a bunch of ... W... Great Guys

As an Ex Corps member.. one of the first direct entries.. (late 70's)..

You could be a direct entrant from civi st as an Air Trooper.. then go on to be a SGT Pilot within 24 months!

I am sure this has all changed now thou?

    657 SQN A A C Terry Akers

  • Looks like they got the ultimate helicopter force out there!!!!

  • Nice video by the way, thanks for posting

    5*

  • What's the entry req's for the AAC? Do you have to have worked on the ground to sign up?

  • You need to join the air corps as ground crew first, but when you reach the rank of corpral you can apply for air crew (Pilot, gunner etc.) The good thing about the army compared to the RN or RAF is that you don't need any qualifications to apply for pilot training.

  • Are you sure? The only pilot job I saw available on their website was "Army Air Corps Pilot (Officer)". I also saw on the DVD that the army is the only armed forces where you don't have to be an officer to pilot, but I've heard from other places this isn't true.

  • Cheers, you too :).

  • @TheDrOctopus but of course there are the strict health requirements are there not :(?

  • @tarkinfish Yea that's true, but if your fit and healthy then you should get in fine, i passed it all =]

  • @TheDrOctopus Yeah I'm fit and healthy but that doesn't take into account sight :/. I'm short-sighted in my right eye unfortunately... Still not sure of the exact figures i.e. lense accuity etc... Gratz for passing it though lol, sounds hard for a lot of people!

BTW once you're in, how do you get allocated to your aircraft? I hear that you get to choose? Or do they offer a place? Or do they just shove you into an aircraft of their choosing?

  • @tarkinfish If you pass all the tests for pilot, i'm not actually sure what aircraft they're likely to put ya on, i'd imagine it would take the best pilots to fly aircraft like the Apache, but i expect other pilots get a choice of what aircraft they can fly... But that's only a guess, i need to look that up myself lol

  • @TheDrOctopus wouldnt they rank you up as a pilot though? like witihn your first few years fly a lynx or something then after a couple years of experiance and stuff, move you up to an apache

  • @TheCaeronRoberts I'm not sure, i'd imagine that if you was flying Lynx's for a few years and you wanted to fly Apache's instead, that you would be able to do that instead, but i'm not sure..

  • @TheDrOctopus Hmm, im pretty sure you rank uo through the air craft though...

  • @TheCaeronRoberts wether you fly the apache or the lynx depends on your test results, if you capeable of flying one or the other well there you go, but its also slightly supply and demand.

  • Army is the only part of the armed forces where ya don't need to be an officer to apply for pilot training, most people don't believe it because the RAF and RN require officers only. But yea, in the army about 2/3 of pilots are NCO's :)

  • Ah that's great! Thanks a lot mate :).

  • No worries dude, i'm applying for the army air corp myself :)

  • Nice one :), if all goes well I should be in a year or so :D.

  • Ah best of luck mate :)

  • Imalready in an Aplication for the Royal Marines, which is my number one goal...but i woudl also like to be a Pilot but so i went into army careers and i asked because i seen on a vid that the army is the onyl one out of the 3 that youdotn need to eb a commisioned officerto fly one but he said thsi aitn true...and said i coudl eb a avionics technician with ym grade...is this true?

  • i'm really interested in becoming a pilot for the army air corps, if i go through sandhurst after uni, how much training would there be to fly a gazelle or a lynx?? and, what's life really like in the corps?? thanks, and brilliant vid

  • If you want to join the Army air corps do you have to work on the ground first?

  • No you can join with no previous millitary experience.

  • Do you need to be in the Aircrew to get on the helicopters mgs :D?

  • yeah, i lived in middle wallop, my dad worked there. awsome vid.

  • for queen and country long live the queen

  • Im 21 at the moment and i want to join the air corp i just lack the grades to fly

will i be able to be trained to fly if i do the ground crews for 3 years?

i wouldnt want to join if they wouldn't.

  • i am 21 also and i want to join for minimum of 4years. Yes you can train as a piolet if you have so many years experience and have the skills that are looking for. i dont know hoew long it takes though

  • go to your armed forces career advicer.

  • @killkidnumber2

well i had a talk with them a couple of days ago, need to be a corporal and have 4 years service I think

  • @creamycurdy

so you need 4 years service as a regular combat soldier? im 26 now and wanna join up as im finished uni. does that mean ill have to wait till im 30?

  • @kenno83

after checking the site there was an age limit for pilots dunno bout ground crew

  • is the parachute regiment part of army air corps

  • as you said it your Self its Regiment of its own =p

  • sorry no i thinks its a Part of the army Air Assault Brigade

  • Ive Applied for the Royal Marine Commando's got medically withdrawn from my first prmc now i got 3 months to retake it...after watching this vid i would consider being a aircrewman i love helicopters

  • i wana join as a pilot.

  • isnt the rear crewmans and doorgunner course all arms?

  • im joining the AAC atm, i start basic in march. im going to do ground crew then move on to doorgunner after a while. is there any advise anyone ?

  • haha im joing in march aswell

  • can u be a doorgunner if you wear glasses?

    cheers

  • iv just left RAF regiment cos i fort it was shit and im gona join army air corps. hopin to eventually be a door gunner!

  • i start my training for ground crewman at pirbright at start on january :) cnt w8!!

  • looks like fun

i start basic for air corps next may

  • LOL everyones joining as bloody groundcrew. I tried for Air tech as REME is really what I wanna do. But BARB on monday 12th pissed on that one as the armys "full" lol. So im posting med forms off for groundcrew lol I fancy sitting in a chopper waking the locals up (H) lol

  • funny when he touches his ass..all fun to them haha cant wait to hoin the ACC..good luck to all in the Service or joining....awesome song by the way

  • I got offered a job in the AAC on Friday! So so excited to start basics etc!

Good luck to anyone else joining the Army & especially the AAC. :)

  • Where did that Hind and Mi-17 come from?

  • i just done my B.A.R.B test too, but AAC is my first choice, cant wait!!!!!

  • im hoping to join the Royal Marines soon.

But i done my b.a.r.b test for the army and i was thinking about doing AAC (starting off as groundcrew). Royal Marines is my first choice though. ( i know theyre the best and hardest force to get into (fitness, state of mind) but im not gonna give up.)

  • great vid.

how long does it take to be a door gunner? can you go into the AAC as one, or do you have to push up the ranks?

    Thanks, B.

  • you have to join as ground crew, it'll take 18months - 4yrs to become a lance corporal at which point you can become airecrew (doorgunner), if you want to fly its better to become a technician in REME and then apply for pilots training

  • So basically, the best thing to do is to join the army as a technician, then apply for the training as a door gunner, then later on apply to be a pilot? because i wanna join the army, but i wanna be fighting as well as repairing aircraft... possibly even flying should i pass the training... just wondering what the best first steps are. Thanks. :)

  • i'm in the process of applying now, if you want to fly a heli then join REME as a technician then once your a corporal you can apply to be a pilot straight from there skipping the doorgunner bit, if your keen on "front line" stuff remember even as a technician the army will see you as a soldier before anything else

  • Ah that's a good point, i'm ginna get down to the recruitment office and talk to em bout it, see what they say. Thanks for the advice, and good luck.

  • Love the way you Buzzzzed the sand man... :).. great video!

  • love the lynx

  • i love this Video

  • Great Video. Beautiful Copters.

  • song name please?

    The AH rules!

cant wait for the new super lynx in 2012

  • Do you mean Future Lynx? Lol

  • I'm sure it's limp bizkit, my way, could be wrong lol :D

  • Great vid! We are in afganistan for a good reason. God save the queen.

  • @209sburley

    in afghanistan yes...

    but this vid says IRAQ!!!

les good reasons i believe... ;)

  • please tell me why you guys decide to flip the bird sideways when you come to power lines? it makes me so sick. especally going fram basarah to umm qasr lots of power lines.

  • how is it u become a non-comissioned pilot in air corps, is it just after u get promoted to Lcpl or is it more time and expeience first? and do u have to join AAC to be abble to apply for pilot training?

and is it true u cant fly the apache if ur a soldier?

  • Think at the moment you need to have served at least two years in the Army before youre illegible for AAC aircrew, as far as I know everyone who is in the AAC as pilots are illegible to test-outs on the WAH-64s but only 1% will succeed in the course. The British Apache course is the toughest helicopter course on the planet.

  • great job lads......... thanks..

  • Nice vid!

    I love the Lynx Heli

Im joining the AAC in a few years!!!

  • Can you join the AAC if you don't like heights & powder blue berets?

  • this is a fantastic video! i like real hip hop yet the song is perfect for the vid. brilliant stuff

ive been rejected by the raf for pilot because of a history of asthma. anyone know the AAC policy on history of asthma?

  • Yes i know i served with them for 7 years and sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you have no chance.

  • were you in the british AAC?

  • Yes I was, You can get in if you are four years clear but you will not be able to go Aircrew.

  • dont worry about being the bearer of bad news. i always knew i may not make it after thr RAF told me at the last minute. the AAC keep telling me that i can join as a pilot if im 4 years clear??? FAA have same approach as RAF.

  • Yes they told me the same, No one has ever made pilot in 4 years. I had severe hayfever which on occasion set off asthma. I was 4 years clear and they still refused.

  • so why do they bother saying that u can be pilot 4 years clear of asthma when realisticaly you wont make it? they give people false hope.

  • Does the army air corps involve parachuting out of aircraft?

  • The american one does.

  • Can you be in air corps with a nut allergy, you cant get in infantry with it :(

  • can you be in the british army air corps as a pilot if you're colour blind? thanks

  • No, i'm afraid not.

  • To be a pilot your health and fitness levels have to be top notch.

Your breathing, heart, muscles, eyesight and hearing have to be near perfect, if not absolutely perfect.

  • in canada they hire 2 pilots per year...

in conclusion becoming a army pilot is almost impossible ( in canada.......maybe same for elsewhere)

  • NO THINK ABOUT IT

  • Comment removed

  • looks like somin id like to do:)

  • great vid, to be a pilot you need 2 A lvls and 3 GCSE's

  • NO YOU DONT

  • fucking great video lads, proud of what ya doin! keep up the good work

  • Great video.Makes you wish you,d chosen a different career years ago.Good luck to you,s all .Take it easy.

  • Guys awesome vid i at 5 reg and am going on the 9th o march how bad is it out there not to scared

  • I want to join the Army then the AAC, the army website says you have to be an officer. Is it helpful to have gone to Uni, i'm only 15, and want to know whether I should go to Uni or not and my parents want me to so can anyone join to train as an officer from any age?

  • Hey mate, you have got to go to sandhurst to do officer training to become a pilot, or you can join the army in another job, and if you reach a high enough rank, then you can train to be a pilot, but the quickest way is through sandhurst! I'm in the same position as ou with my mum and dad, but i'm leaving after sixth form. Have you got facebook, would be good to chat bout it! Me name is Alex Archey Henry if you wana talk wud be gr8 2

  • Btw, that was 2 Sheepjumpfish

  • ok my initials are DB so you'll know if it was me or some random bloke adding you

  • YOU CAN BECOME AIRCREW VIA GROUNDCREW

  • you have to be 18 and have good A levels to enter as an officer, you then attend sandhurst then you go on a 44 week course with the AAC. you can join the AAC as any rank but i think you can only fly helicopters as an officer but dont hold me to that.

  • How good because,i'm not being disrespectful in any way but, people in the army are never really seen as that intelligent, maybe it's different for officers.

I should be getting at least 3 Bs at A-level and i'm set for pretty much straight As at GCSE which is obviously good but A-levels are different.

  • this is to 'thejollyro' bloody youtube puts in wrong place

  • Are you from America? The British army is full of intelligent young guys. That is why they joined.

  • I've lived in Bedfordshire all my life

  • i think A levels are abit like GCSEs i wouldnt know though as im doing mine at the moment, But i think C or above is good enough, good luck with your A levels ill need it with mine :P

  • I plan on joining the RAF after i have gone to uni i am currently doing my a levels and i have been in contact with the RAF.

Right what i wanted to say is that (subject dependant) A levels are generally much much harder than GCSE, i don't mean to put you off. I do the three sciences and the work load is substantially more, its also much more challanging. A C at A level is very good.

  • you only have to be an officer if you want to be a pilot straight away. you can go in as a normal air trooper

  • Yo bro! xxx

  • Thanks mate. I think I should give it some serious thought. Life's too short and then you say "if only I'd one that"! Cheers!

  • im not sure if your too old, and don't take that to offence lol i think you have to fit the Army's general max age and i think that's 29! if your really interested, write the AAC a letter or contact Middle Wallop. Any help?

  • Just out of interest, would a lapsed private helicopter licence be an advantage towards a job as a pilot in the AAC? My instructor was ex-AAC, but I'm pushing 40 now!

    Still fit though!

  • I'm not totaly sure but as the website says you have to have done officer training and be under 27, it doesn't say if things are different for people already with licences

  • the army like to have commisioned their pilots at age 27, age 29 is pushing it let alone 40.

  • TOO OLD

  • Im in the AAC...Just to let everyone know that you cant just join as a door gunner ...it takes time , you need at least a class 1... as you get to your reg you will start as a class 3...and depending on you !! how well you wpsk and much you want it then its anything is possible ...The future is the Apache...so got hands on with tha Apachie first...get your class 1..then try for it .... Good luck....to us all !!

  • Nice clips. Take care fellas, remember you ARE the best!

Wish I could have a go in a Lynx! I got my PPL (H) 19 yrs ago but couldn't afford to keep it up,bloody marriage, house, etc., blah blah.......

  • what qaulifications do you need to become a door gunner any one know?

  • FCUK YEH!!!!!!!!! Rookie Great vid mate, my bro is out their in afghan, AAC!!! Much respect to ya mate!

  • nice video, whats the name of the song?

  • FUCK YES i fucking love AAC joining as soon as i get the chance, anyone whos been in the AAC could you tell me how it was and how long you served for?

  • Ready to die fer yer waspleader G-bush legacy wower, poodles?

  • ready to suck your dads dick like a homo?

  • all very positive comments, nice to see you young people are inspired, however a good command of the engilsh language is needed to jion any arm of h.m. forces,

so good luck to you all

  • could you tell me more about the AAC please?

  • 1:20 what was being shot at? respect to u

  • nothing lol

  • Areet, im only 14 atm but dunno weather 2 join air corps or royal egineers. Anyone know wich is better?

  • hey pick air corps i iz wanting to join dem

  • army air corps (door gunner) if you want some fun. but, royal engineers if you want to get a half good civvy job afterwards... then again, in the aac you could be a driver, signaller, or pilot... possibly, but yeah zzz!

  • yh kl vid, im only 13 but i go army cadets near hounslow - in the army air corps regement. im nearly promoted to lance!

  • Great i like this 1, ya done a good job with it.

  • awesome, aac is my first choice woowoo.

  • Thank you for your service! Great VID!

  • Hi its a great video you have made i am looking at joining the AAC what job do you do in the AAC

  • now the times r 9:18 to 14 mins my best so far is like 10:50 but ive got along time to wait i can tell, so i shud eventually get between 9 and 10 mins at the ADSC.

  • y wont it be hard to get in?...wots the 1.5mile time needed for selection?

  • At wallop there streaming now i think, so just hope you do better in sigs than any other. If you pass the first 2 weeks i think they give you an option to carry on for another 3 weeks. I left there a while ago but as i was leaving there was talk about this.

  • im goin for my first interview on 4th november, im joining the signals as an electrician hopefully...my second choice is aac groundcrew

  • i think that aircorps dont get enough gratitude for what they do i think yous are amazing keep up the good work

  • legend im joinin the army air corps in bout year and half

  • i well wanna join the air corps hoping to go to selection sometime soon :D

  • just left the artillry....i want back in lol

  • IS THE army air corps worth joining anyone?? and whats it like on tour? as ground crew

  • Is the AAC worth joining? Hell yeah! There are crap times but you'll face those in any walk of life, I have a chip or two on my shoulder but the good times far outweigh the bad times. Are you looking to be a pilot? f so, the quickest route could be to join another corps with a faster promotion route and then apply, the APC is an all arms course.

I've no regrets at all about becoming a blue tac head! :o)

  • What was You in the AAC? Ground crew..?

  • i'm currently at rma sandhurst hopefully will get my commitioning soon then off to do training with infantry then my 14 month flying, its gonna take more than waiting

  • USA IS THE BESt..... at killing civillians
