  • yeah this sucks because of the current price of gas. We are donating a car that has almost a full tank...oh well, buy buy gas

  • how long on a hose would u need if u do siphon gas? please awnser

  • @1997buddyboy You can't on new cars.

  • @briansmobile1 im talking about the older ones

  • Very informative.

  • It's also hard because you can blow up in a firey inferno if you're doing it wrong.

Had to strip a gas tank off a car once, stripped it, got it out to a clear area where no fumes could accumulate and only then I took the leftover gas into a canister. Just poured that shit out through a funnel. I found the flap on the filler tube, but it had no plastic ball.

  • @GM572 Ya not all of them have it.

  • Comment removed

  • @squidgysailor It's designed to prevent spill out if the car rolls over and prevent syphoning. As far as I know the gas station cut out is all in the pump end.

  • About that metal flap, does that make it impossible to get the hose out? How would that make it difficult if possible?

  • @coyote7272 The ball is the barier. The metal flap isn't anti-theft, it just prevents unwanted tank/environment exchange. Not pulling the line out easily is just a coincidental hassle to siphoning.

  • Is there still a way for people to bypass that green ball???

  • @ericebbaker A drill to the side of the tank or pulling the hose off.

  • @briansmobile1 Oh I see... Would they be able to slide a thinner hose passt the green ball tho. Or is it pretty thin of a gap. I see these people in these syphoning gas videos and they all have monster hoses. Wouldn't you be able to get passed the green ball with somthing smaller???

  • @ericebbaker It MAY be possible, but it would take FOREVER. Even with a big hose the flow rate is pretty slow on a siphon.

  • I really like your videos, dude. Kinda reminds me of Davidsfarm. I subbed a while ago and I haven't regretted it. Keep the awesome videos coming :D

  • @NissanDriver15 Thanks- I also sub to Davidsfarm- the guy rocks!

  • When you roll a vehicle do you have to pull all the plugs to evacuate oil from each cylinder? I remember when my dad rolled his Ford truck. He told me that the mechanic turned it over and the engine blew. What is on your checklist before turning over a rolled vehicle?

  • @spelunkerd That same Cherokee I rolled I winched back over and drove 30 miles home with no windshield. The thing to do is give it at least as much time upright as it had upside down- check the oil level and unplug the ignition coil. If it doesn't rotate but makes a nasty starter grind noise you'll have to pull the plugs. If it rotates smoothly you can run it.

  • @briansmobile1

    Thanks, Brian.

  • @spelunkerd You bet. Any time.

  • so the lock cap i placed on my truck is unnecessary huh? good to know.

about 5 years ago in hawaii when the gas prices shot up to almost $4 a gallon, siphoning was rampant. the news reported some drunk had burned his face & died while stealing gas from a car. apparently he lit a cig while he waiting for his can to fill up.

  • Good post man, thanks for taking the time to show that! I know you must have been tired and ready to get the job over with, but thank you for remembering us gear heads out here that appreciate these little findings and information! Keep up the good work!

  • @TheTexasCoder Thanks for the feedback- that helps.

  • Cool, I never knew that existed. Always thought it was a straight shot pas that initial flapper. I guess the only legitimate way to steal gas now is driving off after filling from the gas station. kidding

    thanks for posting vid

  • @pberglin I've had customers who had their gas tank drilled from below! Crazy eigh?

  • Is that why the ball is in there or is there another reason?

  • @watcbd from my understanding the ball is there just in case the car rolls over gas will not come out from where the gas cap is and possibly cause a fire

  • @deanbhill If the car is upside down the ball will float in the gas toward the three fingers and gas will free flow in the same way it lets gas by when filling the tank. The gas cap actually does the job when a car is upside down. I've rolled a couple one was upside down for half hour in the mountains (Jeep Cherokee) and the particular car had no ball in it and it still held it's fuel. Oil.. not so much it went all over in the air filter from the PCV hose.

  • @watcbd It does help trigger the fuel gun to shut off before splashing out too.
