Here is a trick that Wolf Mother does. Instead of going back and forth on the chorus's chords, just release the Major Noted fingers and make it a quick Light Minor note. Same on the higher part.
If you drop your low E string to D (drop it 2 frets so that it syncs with the 7th fret of the A string) you can play the chords as 12-12 instead of 10-12. It's a lot easier that way.
Dude this video was so well done, the tabs showin' as you play, the fact that you didn't make it sound overly complicated. I just needed help with the intro/chorus t'make sure I was doin' it right, so thanks!
i find it easier in drop D tuning. but that's just me. also at the end of the solo, after the last note, what does he do there? can't find that part anywhere
Just found a great live version (search for above) and they play it in standard tuning, but watch what he does for the quick power chaord changes. Very sneaky but dead good. Makes it much easier to play.
@ScullCandy56 Yeah, but who cares if the notes are the same. Plus, it's much less of a hassle when you learn to play songs in standard tuning. No monkeying around and tuning your guitar onstage annoying everybody or having to switch back and forth from a couple guitars tuned differently. Standard tuning is the king!
Hi mate, I seem to keep getting a high tune after playing a powerchord (10/12), just after releasing it a bit to stop the tune. Don't hear it after playing the same powerchord on 13/15 or 15/17. Did you had any trouble with that or not? Got any advice to keap that high tone out?
@jmack369: I think I figured it out after plucking a little bit w/ the strings... If you put your fingers just behind the frets instead of in the middle of the square, you shouldn't get that tone out...
hey for that riff just liff the 3rd finger up instead. alot easier plus it is the right way :P PLEASE LEARN NEW MOON RISING::: PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WANNA PLAY THAT SONG SOOO BADLY
and bend those 19s
Loky1940 3 weeks ago
and on the solo tab it'd be 17p19 not 19p17 u idiot
Loky1940 3 weeks ago
nice lesson, couple things wrong, 1. on the solo you start of at 5th fret on D.
2. the main riff is power chord on 12th fret and hamer on 10th fret instead of going to 8th and the power chords are on the E,A and D.

Yeah, what he said. Good lesson, but it's a lot more difficult hitting those power chords if it's not in drop D.
