I love this scene. What many people don't know, is that this scene wasn't written  like that. He later said in an interview that he kinda lost his character and realized 'I'm in a movie, and Kate Hudson is asking me to go to Morocco with her!' and he just had to hear it again, and they decided to keep it! I love that! He hadn't been in anything else before this, his drama teacher just told him he should try out and he got the part. So know wonder he reacted like that! LOVE HIM!!!

The "ask me again" wasn't in the original script. At this point of filming (and it probably lasted till the end) Patrick was a little bit in love with Kate. He just wanted her to say it to him again, so it seemed like it was Kate talking to Patrick and not Penny (Lady) talking to William.
