WE THE WORKERS OF THE WORLD WALK OUT ON PROFIT. A proposal for nonviolent worldwide action to truly reclaim the one power we have left: our daily labor, the work that capitalism steals from our hands every day. "Profit" means "advantage" which creates the "disadvantaged"; and advantage will always outflank "reform" of an irrational equation (Take More Than You Give). Walk Out, and prove where real power is. at jackdempseywriter.wordpress dot c-o-m
I'm trying to think of a word. It is not dystopia, but something like it. The word means "a system that inherently collapses." I think it is a physics term. This word is what we the Earth are. There is no way to stop our implosion. We can slow the bleeding a little but we cannot stop the bleeding. Can someone help me with the word I am thinking of?
I'm sick to death of these ill educated Americans and conspiracy theorists who blame the decline of America on the federal reserve, which acts in an identical fashion to all of the other central banks, instead of bothering to understand the economic issues. It is just a scapegoat for those who do not understand economics.
Everything we need to change, at least in terms of a "future plan" begin on the basis of these words, that we understand them and proactively work towards them. Unfortunately, as Bob Marley said, "it seems like total destruction is the only solution"
When has this not been true? The entire history of man is made up of individual greed leading to the best and worst of humanity. Science has just made the best and worst of humanity easier to view.
@TomZarek23 that's true, it's never not been the case. I think that people being surprised is just a form of cognitive dissonance from the myth that we live in a world of peace and that imperialism and colonialism are restricted to Columbus's time.
all the developed nations of the world, especially the United States, loves this doomed system that we have. People don't want to give up their lifestyles of excess and love of materialism and pleasure and they will fight and kill to defend it. I've heard it from people's very mouths, even poor ones who are being butchered by the wicked system we have today.
@AlexBrasil123123 Yes, this is insane! Materialism leads to a rapacious attitude/mentality. We have become desensitized and calloused as a people. Despite material wealth, and the so-called trappings of success, statistics (such as Roper Quality of Life Surverys) indicate that we are more neurotic and less satisfied with our quality of life. So, materialism and consumerism are tantamount to some kind of addiction. That is, these isms are actually making us miserable yet we want more and more.
I'd really like to find this speech without the backing music too! I have the audio from this video, but a friend tells me you can't remove the music to leave the speech intact. I've been looking all over the internet to find another recording of this lecture. have you had any luck? I'll let you know if I find it!
Fret not! We do not yet know what the long-term effects of the Internet on society may be. It could actually make us better. The # of views this video has has exponentially increased in the time since you made that comment. If this trend continues, many more will have watched it in ten years.
As long as the Internet is a place where we can freely share ideas that might be anti-authority, humanity stands a chance.
Fortunately for us, it is a rule that perfection does not exist. It allowed for gravitation to create aggregates in an expanding space, thus galaxies and planets and stars; and it allowed for evolution on Earth.
Similarly, I think, our society isn't perfect as a system and there will be at least a few more Chomskys to tell us to look forward, that we may hit a wall and, with chance, imperfection will again strike, preventing the sequence to follow to its end.
look at views of true videos of great minds such as Noam Chomsky .. they tell everything about how interesting the masses are about the true issues of the human civilizations. Then look at the views of american model who dont know what is France and if Europe is a country . It is all clear . People are stupid
I think we all know that Chomsky is a living god, but I think we need to progress through our times. Chomsky is old, yet his message is never old. If we want a revolution, we need to start listening to others, such as Naomi Wolf, Vincent Bugliosi, Amy Goodman, etc.
These are the people of OUR times, that will help us proceed through OUR struggle, not Howard Zinn, not Chomsky, and not anybody who is approaching their death bed, unfortunately.
Wow I had no idea this would get such a bad response. What I meant is that Chomsky and Zinn have already struggled through their generation, and I think they deserve at least a break, so they can live out the rest of their lives with their family. I mean that we need to find people such as Chomsky and Zinn in our time to be representatives of our generation. We need a charismatic, intelligent non-leader to give us insight as Chomsky and others have done for their generation.
Chomsky is insightful, but somewhat pessimistic. He is a needed corrective to the biased reading of our history that too many Americans reflxively embrace. He' a good theorist for the future, but seems to believe that humans can delay the awesome changes approaching. There is now way so adapt.
I get so angry when I watch videos that claim hes some puppet for an international boogeyman illuminati. Generally the string of comments containing the follow ensue "Jew!!!!! CHomsky is a dirty NWo Illuminati Jew!121212!!@!@@!".
I agree with Greenfish...Chomsky, we need you. You need to be more vocal on matters that not only pillage our liberties, but matters that threaten our very lives--TALK ABOUT plans for a One World Government, the NAU, the National ID Card, and most importantly the role of RFID Chips in our future!
