  • You Remind me of RickShucks

  • how am i to achieve a pompadour as fantastic as yours with a half-shaved head? :(

  • "quit crying about it!" i just got my first pomp yesterday, i love it, great hair style. and this helped me a lot in how to maintain it. you sir, have swag.

  • You sir are a legend! I've never come across ANY pompadour hairstyling videos when someone does a parted AND forward-tilting pomp! It's just the nicest and coolest way to do the pomp and that's how I rock it too! =) I don't like that so many people comb their front back, it is as you say weird-looking! Thumbs up! =)

  • hey man i enjoy watching your vids and reading your blong, it has helped ALOT, but i was wondering, are you sponsored or endourced by all these pomades you use??

  • How short does the sides have to be?

  • What if my hair is thinner on top. I am not bald or balding. Its just thinner there. Ive used Murray's before and i thought it worked ok, but looking for other suggestions that wont break my wallet. Also, what if i don't want a pomp all the time like a few days a week?

  • lol 1:47

  • You should make a video where you pomp your hair using only your hands, that way it would be easier to get the basics.

And your videos are great btw, keep it up!

  • What do you ask your barber for when you want to do this. I have my hair short on the sides. Medium on top. How long would it take to grow my hair out. Any idea.

  • sorry damped hair or dry

  • either way man wet or dry

  • When making a pompadour do you put the pommade in when your hair is wet or dry?

  • I'm a girl and I LOVED reading your pomade reviews. I am going to introduce my man to this channel!!

Cheers from Canada! (I wonder if there are any unique Canadian pomades?...I must do some research)

  • So, I've done some research since watching this video I've narrowed my choices down to these pomades

    Mr. Ducktail

    Schmiere K-hart

    Schmiere Hart

    Murray's Black Beeswax

Right now I use this grayish hair clay to style my hair and it's working alright right now, but all I do is spread it everywhere and comb the front upward.

What I'm looking for is the least shiny pomade for my black hair, sticks the most so I won't have to mess with it, and not too expensive.

I'm wondering what you think is best?

  • man that was a real grease lightning grease can

  • What number do you get on the side and on top too man?cause I tried getting a pomp, but the barber didnt even know how to do it

  • Finally!!! I have found another human that doesn't take 126091600425 years 2 do his hair...

  • Hi, do you use pomade every day? And is it alright to do that?

  • @dannee543 Yup, nothing wrong with it. Unless you don't wash it out every so often, I say about a week to two weeks, depending on the sensitivity of your scalp. Otherwise, you shouldn't have a problem.

  • Hey man I'm thinking about getting a pomp and I'm growing out my hair atm. Should I do a trim before I try to get a pomp or should I just do it when my hair is the right length?

And I like taking showers every morning, can I still do that? I've read that people keep grease in for a while when having this hair style.

Also: I have this hair wax, can I use that instead of pomade?

  • @TKMVillar You'll be more satisfied with a proper cut. I take showers in the morning too and sometimes pomp my hair right after, while my hair is still wet.

You can use whatever hair product you want, it just depends on how much "credibility" you want.

  • ur hair looks great bro. have you ever dont another persons pomp for them? you shouild make a video doing anothers hair so we can get the fine details more clearly. Im going bald in front and i find that pomades with fiber seems to make my pomp thicker. I use robs chop shop grease. 50 wt. will hold your hair in a hurricane super stuff.anyways man, thanks for the video, i enjoyed your work of perfection. dan

  • @mrpinhead I've done a couple of buddies hair. But it won't give the viewer a first person perspective, as if they were looking in the mirror, to properly emulate what I do and how I do it.

  • how gay is this?

  • @knightofgold The gayest of gay. Gay enough to peak your interest, you took the time to look up a video, saw the thumbnail, click, watch and comment on it... Did it make your tip jump up in your pants? Is that why it's "gay?"

  • how long do ur hair got to be ?

  • What do you do when you have thick curly hair close to afro? I know its possible looking at little richard and chuck berry, but how!!

  • @gokolink Sorry, I wouldn't know as I don't have that hair type. A buddy of mine who has really curly/kinky hair, recently got his hair to pomp. So it's not impossible.

  • A real rocker has got a pink comb!!! \m/ rock on! :P

  • when you go get a haircut wat do you tell them so you can get the "pomp"haircut?

  • Where do you get the big can??? I'd love to get one of those!

  • i heard kid say : DADDY !!

  • Do you recommend putting the pomade with dry or wet hair?

  • @ThePitkings It depends on you. I prefer to apply it to slightly damp hair, some apply it in the shower. That method never worked for me, but it might for you.

  • Comment removed

  • i comb mine EXACTLY how you do yours. not to tall, not too boxy, i go with my natural hairstyle, ie; wavy. rock on, brother.

what pomade would you recommend? currently i just use a hairglue + hairspray from got2be to do mine, since it washes out. what kind of pom would wash out? ;)

  • Big bangs I want his hair

  • Hello, i'm a Greaser. The name is Johnny. I just have a question. I was wondering how long i should have my hair to do a pomp. I've been trying to do a pomp for at least 6 months. My hair just doesn't get into a pomp. I have it to my brows right now, how long should i have it? Thanks!

  • @laa4jonathon There's no specific length you HAVE to have, in order to do a pompadour. Obviously, with hair under 3 inches, you won't have a big full pomp, but it doesn't mean you can't style a pompadour. I usually have the longest parts of my hair, longer than 4 inches, shorter than 7-8 inches.

  • fantastic

  • love the video. so good.

  • I have really thick thick dark hair and I have tired pomping my hair with layright Murray's and voodoo goo and I haven't found a pomade that works for my type of hair yet any tips on what to buy ???

  • @LucasJTopping

My hairs super straight to.Fiber grease works good. Its a japanese hair product. This is an excellent video.

  • my hair is straight as fuck, it doesnt stay back!

  • DO U HAVE TO BE A GREASER TO DO THIS HAIRSTYLE CUZ IM NOT I JUST LIKE IT.. OH YEAH AND ALSO MY BARBER TOLD ME THT UR HAIR FALLS OFF USING GREASE IS THT TRUE????

  • @gamer13PRO A lot of people say "yeah," but fuck what they say. If you dig the hairstyle, rock it. Your hair will only fall out, if your genetics call for it. It depends on how your scalp reacts to certain ingredients in the pomade, and how often you do/don't wash out your hair. Unless someone put Nair in your pomade tin, I think you have nothing to worry about!

  • @gamer13PRO pomade my man pomade

  • @gamer13PRO It also depends on what pomade you use also... Layrite is good because it washes out... I've never used Mr. Ducktail... but I get my hair cut by at Hawleywoods (Donnie Hawley owns Hawleywoods Barbershop and Layrite pomade). Try a bunch out, a heads up... don't use Murray's unless you need too, because your hair might just fall out lol.

  • Your vids are awesome bro. I can rock a pomp but my only problem is my hair line recedes a little bit. The problem i have is once i get the front up and curled over, i try to straighten the top of my hair and comb it backwards, it pulls the pomp down. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • @jstinnett75 Thanks for the kind words.

Use the heel of your palm, to sort of push the pomp forward, so it doesn't get dragged back with the rest of the hair. It also helps round out the back of the pomp, so it has more of a fluid look and feel to it.

    Hope this helps man.

  • @THEERebelRouser thanks alot. also, what pomade do you recommend that's got a medium hold to it? i use murray's when i do my pomp, but sometimes i just like the slick back look and want something to where my hair is still flexible. i've used the royal crown hair dressing and didn't care for it that much, hell, i might as well of used vaseline. anyways, thanks for the tutorials and the response. like someone else said already, keep it greezy brother!!!

  • hey what do yu ask for when yu get it cut? cuz i have the pomp down and the ducktail but i cnt figuere out how the whole thing conects and i always have trouble and always changing hairstyles, can yu help me out by giving me sum meausurments or anything to tell my barber?

  • @shart96 To be completely honest, I just let my barber do his thing. I just tell him that I want the top to be longer/uncut, and he does the rest. He's an older cat who was raised out of his dad's barbershop, so he knows these classic cuts. Sorry I couldn't give you actual measurements.

  • @THEERebelRouser its cool thanks anyways

  • @THEERebelRouser also id like to know how i could get one of those big tins? haha

  • Finally!

Someone who knows what he's talking about but doesn't bore the shit out of me!

Very clear and simple and overall great pompadour!

  • Do you mind if I ask what kind of length is your hair at the back? When I've tried doing my hair in this kind of style, my hair at the front is okay, but my hair at the back cannot sustain a duck's tail, the just becomes a greasy mess. I would try cutting having the sides and back cut, but I want to have something specific to say, lest the barber just does whatever he wants.

  • @hole1991 I think at the time of this vid, the back of my hair was at about an inch or so. I don't know the exact dimensions, I just let my barber do his thing.

I will say, the longer, the easier it is to ducktail. I'm not saying you can't do it with shorter hair, but it's much easier with longer hair, and looks better too.

  • @THEERebelRouser

    Thank you very much.

  • Haha, got a dislike.

  • @THEERebelRouser

Um, I'm sorry, but do you think that dislike was me? Because it wasn't.

Anyway, thank you very much for answering my question,

  • Dude you keep it real with the pomp! I love this tutorial, best tutorial in my opinion.

  • 2:37 face hahaha funny ass fuck! your hilarious man!

  • So glad u brought that up, the number one thing I hate is seeing a pomp in the back of the head

  • I have really thick hair and I've been using layrite for the past few months but it just seems to absorb into my hair after a while, until it doesn't even have a sheen anymore.

Do you know of other strong pomades that don't do this but are easier to get out then Murray's (which I have used and it was a PITA for me at least)? Or a water-soluable top-coat?

    Thanks and Keep Rockin'

  • I know Jan its about creating a masterpiece...lol bro

  • I know Jan its about creating a masterpiece......lol

  • Finally someone that agrees with me that pomps in the middle of the head are ridiculous.

  • yeah my hair doesn't wave. it curls. making pomping that much more difficult

im gonna make a series of vids for curly haired greasers like myself

  • Thanks I come from germany and my pom looks now even better then before :) thanks alot (sorry for my bad English)

  • Thumbs up for the pink comb!!

  • Just got the last two tubs of that monkey brains pomade. Gonna try it out tomorrow. I love how its so cheap

  • @GrotesqueHyydra Thanks man, glad you dig it!

  • finally....a TUTORIAL! thanks man

  • @ZebraheadY2J Thanks man! I plan on having a few more tips and tricks videos, so stay tuned!

  • Now that is a clean pomp...how does that mr.ducktail pomade hold?cause i have super thick wavy hair.

  • @XalessandroX323 Thanks man. The hold for Mr. Ducktail's pomade is a little stronger than Black & White Pomade, if you've tried it. I have thick and wavy hair as well, and this stuff works pretty well for me!

I dig the pomade and a lot of people I've showed it to this past weekend, dig it too! Definitely worth looking into! Plus, the promo-code is up until July 4th, so you've got plenty of time to make up your mind.

  • Man, going bald sucks. I wish I could do this.
