  • Would love to visit Siberia

  • They drive sencable..

  • it looks like a fun place to live, with so much fog, hide and seek games, would be fun)

  • how does the road not get slippery?

  • @tubestick00 They use sand.

  • I would like to go there

  • helsinki is "a bit" milder than yakutsk etc. but the temperatures can still vary from -25C to 30C.. I think this year will prove a lot of variance, as the winter was freezing and long and the summer's gonna be hot. it's 12C now (it's evening though, 10pm), I could be out there very well with no shirt at all.

  • i live in a place that the weather is 15 to 32 C

  • @jalexcout64 lucky u i live in a place where it's 28 to 35

  • wow that beautiful weather I like to freeze up

  • 0:11 Ikarus?:O :D

  • Since when Ikarus are made with petrol engines?

  • People here in California complain when it gets 40 F/ 5 C how cold it is here.LOL!

I tell them why don't you go to Fairbanks Alaska or Duluth Minnesota or Yakutsk Russia.

  • ya pomnu v krasondare tak bil -40C

  • I'm surprised the cars are starting....

  • @karibellflame

    Моя раньше в -40 заводилась...Сейчас уже недели 2 морозы -30-35, уже не заводится :(

А вообще да, теплая одежда и все, можно ходить по улице прикрывая лицо рукой))

  • @Var1113 I'm so sorry, I do not speak russian....maybe you can translate? Anyone?

  • @karibellflame

Use Google translator and you will have happiness :)

  • @Var1113 thank you kindly for that suggestion. I guess I could have thought of it myself.lol

  • I wonder why anyone would want to be a police officer there. I would not want to get out of my car to give anyone a ticket

  • We are now -40 in Krasnoyarsk ... more than 20 minutes on the street is better not to stand ...

  • @Var1113 I LIVE IN THE NORTH OF ITALY AND NOW THE TEMPERATURE IS ABOUT -5/6...AND FOR ME (US) IT IS ALREADY TOO MUCH !!! IT IS AMAZING TO LIVE WITH A TEMPERATURE OF -40...HOW CAN YOU RESIST AND LIVE OVER THERE ? IS IT POSSIBLE TO DRIVE, TO WALK...OR TO WORK ? HOW CAN YOU ARRANGE AND ADAPT ANYTHING IN THOSE CONDITIONS ? CONGRATULATIONS FOR THE STRONG RESISTANCE...REALLY !!!

  • @PINOPONNESO just wear on heavier clothes.

  • @cipihevent YES...OK, CLEAR ! BUT -40 IS -40 !!! I THINK THAT YOU HAVE SOME DIFFICULTIES OR PROBLMES DURING THE EVERYDAY LIFE...

  • @PINOPONNESO maybe that's because Italy have no or very short winter. I went to Verona several years ago, in late January, temperature was about +6 C..........people were wearing gloves WTF !! ?? ?!?!?

  • @japtca IN VERONA, LIKE IN THE REST OF THE NORTH OF ITALY, WINTERS ARE QUITE "WET"...I MEAN A LOT OF UMIDITY AND FOG, SO IT IS NOT REALLY A "NICE" FEELING FOR THE SKIN AND THE BONES, THIS IS WHY PEOPLE OVER THERE, I IMAGINE ESPECIALLY FEMALES, WERE WEARING WOOL OR LEATHER GLOVES. ALSO DO NOT FORGET THAT THE 99% OF THE ITALIANS "ARE IN LOVE" WITH THE SUN...OR BETTER WE ARE "SONS OF THE SUN"...THOSE ARE THE TWO MAIN EXPLANATIONS !!!

  • @PINOPONNESO yes ok, in my country winter temperature can get as low as -35C so in my eyes it look a little weird to wear gloves, thick close when outside is +7C.

click on me if you want to see how winter is in my hometown.

  • @japtca YES MATE...UNDERSTANDABLE ! I HAVE JUST SEEN YOUR VIDEO...MY GOD ! VERY INTERESTING

PROOF OF A REAL COLD WINTER ! YOU ARE ROMANIAN...AREN' T YOU ? WHERE DO YOU LIVE EXCACTLY ? NOAPTE BUNA

  • @PINOPONNESO my hometown is Ramnicu Valcea, but for several years i live in Bucharest.

btw, we could use some "heat" from Italy wright now, we have -22C these days. :(

  • @japtca MAMMA MIA !!! I HAVE JUST REALIZED THAT I' M NOT IN THE POSITION TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR ACTUAL LOCAL TEMPERATURE...GOOD LUCK MATE !!!

  • @PINOPONNESO, when it comes to driving, they use petrol only. Imagine buses and trucks on petrol, not on oil. They can't have diesel engines there because of the weather. Fortunately, they have quite a lot petrol there so it's quite cheap.

  • @PINOPONNESO

Firstly the Locals are born there, they have some sort of body familiarity with the environment,

Secondly, they don't wear normal clothing made of everyday fabric, not at-least wholly,

THEY MUST AND THEY DO WEAR Clothes made out of "Animal Fur" Bears and so on. Cap is a Must.

Thirdly, they also take great care. for example to have a good meal & shots of Vodka before they go out, that would help you fight the intense cold.

Their diet is extremely rich in FATS and entirely of MEAT.

  • @omerkhan678 Vodka? It is not a must! It is not good to drink Vodka, better tea. And 5 times a day a hot meal. You go to shops, museums, there it is 25-27 plus, so you have a contrast of 60-70 degree everytime.

    Great respect to yakutian people!

  • @PINOPONNESO well thats why in the biggest republic of russia (yakutia is reaaaaaaaaly big) lives less than a million people :)

  • @Jtiger987 I already knew this info about the cold and obviously "almost inhabitated cold" regions of Russia...anyway spazibo (if you are russian of course) !

  • That looks like a fantasy land. Reminds me of Hogsmeade from harry potter.

  • as soon as the "thaw' came..i'd drown myself..uugghhh!

  • How do people function!?

  • Здание мегафона)

  • that is so harsh

  • Damn that's crazy that people live there...

  • yes sure no problem, il go visit

  • pozhaluista

  • Hello ! i want to know which tyres do you use with that cold weather : regular winter tyres only ? winter tires with nails ? Have they got additionaly chains, or chains with nails ?

  • @AnyColourTheyLike ordinary winter tyres! :) ones with nails can be offered by wealthy dudes. pretty expensive on this part of Siberia. what prices for nailed tyres? no idea... never interested :)

  • you can tell it's cold when everything starts to go that blue deepfreeze haze. you can see lots of vapor from the car exhausts too.

  • Good that Finland is not that cold...

  • @Jormaattori112 Hey, but you might have -35C in Lapland. That's what Santa Clause said once :)

  • its easier for u to endure it cuz air is not so wet in continental climate ,-30 in Latvia feels probably the same i guess and a -30 wind is not very pleasant :D

  • @rot105and yeah, praise god, we don't have strong winds! but come to our place and try it yourself. it should be an unforgettabel experience though! :)

  • Went snowmobiling this winter in northern Ontario. Every morning the thermometer read -45C. Didn't get to -20 until about 12pm. When I got home to southern Ontario, the -15 felt like summer.

  • @mhzx10khzfmam2 greetings to Ontario! hope you are doing well!

  • mobil1 best oil

  • @miksulder never checked :) but thanks for recommendation!

  • Nice video. Btw, I like the 20-30ºC here in Brazil all the year. At least in the place where I live the whole year is like a summer.

  • @erickchba2 you are lucky. You know, Siberians love hot weather, but can't stand even a month. We just accustomed to cold weather :)

  • you must mine here, or we make you not happy. have nice day yes.

  • we have a house in Barrow,AK and we usually spend 2 weeks there for winter, ive experienced like - 55 to - 49 something like that, you can barely feel you skin...

  • @GrandMasterRy saying hello to Alaska! :) Well, I think I can feel my skin at any temperature. At such extremely low temps I feel niddles in my skin :)

  • The coldest ive ever experienced is -10 and that was cold!

  • @tombr325 lucky you are :) why not come to Yakutia and try the cold?

  • i love cold weather and dont like hot summer, im from california and its hot , i want to go to russia, atleast you can do something about the cold, just wear more jackets

  • @DarkSkysify yeah, come to Russia! I mean, come to Siberia! if any, you can contact me via AskYakutia . com

  • man and i was thinking -20 is crazy.

  • @dodoslovensko you're right, man. -20 is like holidays here :)

  • in the summer Yakutsk is warmer then britain.. :(

  • @SonicGeneration indeed. quite hot in summer i hear. here. summer is brutally hot.

  • @SonicGeneration that's true! :)

  • I wish to live in a place like this one day... I´m psychologist and I don´t I will have trouble to find people to talk and so. Home psychological treatment will be availiable.

  • @anameisnotimportant why spending time on wishes. just come! i think, it would be a good subject to research.

  • lol @ Wutang...... I was born in the Caribbean so hurahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh to the Caribbean lol.

  • @Agent007202 Caribbean? sounds like paradise for Siberians! :)

  • fuk that, im glad we dont get that here :)

  • @WutangNYC Hey, NYC. My photographs are features at the photo exhibit in Brooklyn, NYC currently. You might want to check our website OnTheRoadOfBones . com :)

  • А в США -3 уже ЧП

  • Your nose can snap off man. ;)

  • @conmazacote :)

  • Ma il cielo da che parte sta? :-)

  • @Thrillseeka08 ыыыы.... didn't get it :)

  • I was there - but in July, temperature was above 30 degrees Celsius :) And in summer they have "white nights" - no sunset before midnight and a "dark" which lasts only 2-3 hours... Most people from Yakits say thay couldnot live anywhere else - they simply like sharp winters they have...

  • @ivicazdravkovic because it's goot to have crystal winter :)

  • And I complain about -10c. Holy shit.

  • @patrickmanning94 Don't complain. The life is perfect! Enjoy your place!

  • Looks cool! :-P

  • @BigAndTall666 Thanks, man! :)

  • im there rite now and its-40 its soooo cold

  • @zumbc put on warm clothes and everything will be cool!

  • Life must be miserable in a place like that.

  • @SuzaneVonRichthofen Hey not that miserable. There's always a new crop of babies next year ... depending on just how cold the winter was!

  • @oilpatchgirl haha! :)

  • beautiful!

  • @thesteveoman brutally beautiful! :)) that's true!

  • anti-perfect place in world

  • Oh!!! So beautiful.... I am in Hot summers of Australia during Winters!! I wish I could go to Yakutsk one day!! Love you Russia..

  • @CarlosTrevor hello to Brasil!

  • ыччуу...

  • Merry Xmas :D

  • @DikkeAmerikaan Спасибо! Merry X-mas to you too! Hey, two months ahead! :)

  • Wow. Think I'll stay in Richmond Virginia. We close the schools here if there's 2" of snow.

  • @WJJ1968 Schools are closed in Yakutsk, when we have -50C. In the village of Oymyakon it's closed only, when they've got -55C. crazy.

  • @bolotbootur - I'll stick to Richmond VA. Our average high temperature in January is 50F.

  • @WJJ1968 That must be very pleasant !

  • i plan on moving to Yakutsk before the shit REALLY hits the fan in the USA. politics ruined this country : (

  • why Yakutsk? why not south africa? or australia or south america?

  • i dont like australia too boring and i have no desire to move to south africa. i could hide in russia.

  • too boring?! ) i can say exactly the same thing about russia lol. anyway

    peace

  • @ActiveStorage Russia is not boring. Something happens daily here.

  • @bolotbootur i know. everything is relative

  • @DRA60NF1R3 hey, but you can travel a lot from your place. not bad, indeed. we are pretty limited in that term.

  • a w polsce przy -20 zamarza paliwo hahah

  • Pieprze was ruski i kitajce

  • And I thought Ukraine was cold! This makes Ukraine in winter like summer in Arizona!!!

  • yakutsk is siberia, siberia is russia not ukraine

  • Yes, I know Yakutsk is not in Ukraine; I meant I had visited Ukraine last winter, and thought it was very cold there. But from this video, it makes Ukraine look warm by comparison.

  • @Proxy123RU а тут кстати очень много украинцев. так что не наем, не наем :)

  • @jaicban your winter is like autumn here :)

  • even st. petersburg gets to -40 on occasion. yakutia earns its stars when it gets to -50 and -60!

  • @movitmovit spasibo for stars! :)

  • It's good that roads are clean

  • @Patriot87 yeah, roads in winter look awesome. white and clean :)

  • but you must have strong winds. we don't. that's why we can endure cold weathers.

  • that is true, somehow it doesn't 'feel' that cold in Siberia - beautiful clear sky, very little or no wind, even sunny. It's true though that I've only been in the Tomsk area :)

  • @holloch my fillings in my mouth would hurt like hell, i would have to wear scarf man.

  • @bolotbootur i have only been 2 below f in here. 35 below in cooler at work. it is impressively cold .

  • @12valvepower1 well, if you don't have the working heating system, any subzero temp could be unpleasent.

  • Yakutsk is one of the coldest cities on Earth, with January temperatures averaging −40.9 °C (−42 °F).

  • Yeah, you are right! :))

  • @lucasntas thanks for such a perfect promotion statement :) thanks, friend.

  • I live in England and the average winter temperature is between 0C and 7C. Snow doesn't usually last longer than a few days. I'd love to live somewhere with a cooler climate. And learn to ski! :-)

  • Conway79, why not to come to Yakutsk in winter and experience extreme cold. Will have some excitement and memory for the rest of life.

  • I didnt think the camera would work in those temperatures.

  • That's why I shot through the window of a room. I wouldn't stand even 15 seconds without gloves, if I were outside.

  • Oh hehe. I tought you were standing outside :)

  • Very cool video!

I am very fascinated by cold temperatures where people live, and i have heard about Yakutsk before and would love to go there one time! I am from Norway and we are used to cold temperatures, but I have never experienced more than -25 centigrades. The 2008 winter we had -20 celsius where I live.

  • MrOlav321, you are always welcome. People here are very hospital.

  • Thank you. I will go to Russia one day.

  • @bolotbootur i have heard of legendary russian rural hospitality.

  • I've experienced -62 in my life. You don't feel your skin anymore at these temps, you feel cold with your muscles and flesh... Trust me, after -62, -40 seems pretty warm (assuming there is no wind)

  • That's also true. Eager to visit the Pole of Cold and experience -60C at least. Btw, where did you try such temps?

  • I'd hate to live in such a climate...Where I live the coldest it gets is -5...that was the coldest winter we had in 19 years and it was horrible,I can't even imagine -40...omg

  • what? Only -5 ?, where do you live?

I live in germany and we have every winter -15 or -20 degrees....it's nice and I love our climate here...

we can have winter 6 months long....

    sorry for my bad english....

  • I live in Ireland, and don't worry about your english,I can understand you, perfectly. Average winter in Ireland is -1 to 4 and it lasts around 3 months

  • in texas it gets like 20 farenheit. SOOO COLD!! nah just kidding :D

  • here in san diego its gotten down to 46 farenheit. California ftw! but i'd love to see wat -40 is like.

  • how did you record/make this video in extreme temperature such as below 44ºC? what did u use? I have never been in Jakoetsk, but i would like to go there to enrich my travelling experience.

  • I used an ordinary Sony Cybershot Digit Camera with video function :) Ye, just come to Yakutia in winter. Experience to remember for the rest of your life :)

  • i can has cheeseburger

  • How do the cars even function?

  • They do not shutdown engines in the winter if they are keeping car outside and not in a warm garage.

  • :))

  • wowow i wanna go there.. bye bye 22ºC of Portugal in February..hello -44ºC Yakutsk lol

  • they have a trolleybus system in Yakutsk or tram system?

  • no, only buses and taxi :)

  • Брр, такой густой туман! Вы там зимой гуляете, на санках и лыжах катаетесь?

  • Скорее короткими перебежками. От здания к зданию или до транспорта. В такие морозы лучше находиться недолго. Последствия чреваты.

  • Fantastic!...2 inches of snow or a bit of frost in this shit hole (England) and everything grinds to a halt.

    FORZA YAKUTSK!!!!!

  • But you've got harsh winds. We don't. That's why it is possible to live in such extreme cold.

  • Lights still vorking...interesting :-)

  • aha. Soviet lights :)

  • I too am fascinated by Yakutsk!!

  • i am fascinated by these places ! thx
