  • she's good but not as good as natalia osipova

  • why is the variation only half way?? X(

    i wanna see more!!

  • amazing, I love how she plays with the tempo of her dancing

  • What a great costume (°_°)

  • She really puts character into this dance. I really enjoyed it; I wish I could see more!

  • This girl is magnificent! She combines technical perfection with a seductiveness that is neither vulgar nor cute. The choreography makes it impossible for her to finish on the music after she does her pirouettes, but she tries to make the best of it.

  • PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!LOVE HER

  • Osipova Natalia No. 1.

  • I totally agree! Natalia Osipova beats every other version of this I've seen!

  • There's something in her I really like, not only in this variation. Her style is different that onther ballerinas.

  • she is really good, but i prefer osipova, she really catches the accents and gives this dance life.

  • Actually she is the only one who can catch the music and the rythm off all other versions on youtube. Wish I could see the whole dance, not just a part of it. She is very successful.

  • try Natalie Krakirian, she is pretty good and she can catch the rythm well.

  • Her dance is perfect!!!!!!

  • Beautiful dress :)

  • I'm doing a variation from bolshoi to this variation does anyone know what this music is called exactly?

  • sick. she's awesome.

  • strength, suppleness, control and beauty!!! thats what a ballerina needs! and she nailed it=)

  • I LOVE her tutu =)

  • she adds so much style and passion to the dance as well as technique.

  • She sticks that fourth before the pirouttes... no one ever seems to do that anymore! Nice :)

  • but she moves her supporting heel in before she turns!!

    Natalia sei GRANDE!!!

  • ballet has changed....now expression is a key to being a gd ballerina as well as tecnique....shes lacking some of that but w.e.

    she okay

  • anbeta è um mito...ma qsta!!????

  • xD her turns need a bit of work... but other than that, it was pretty good.

  • it does not look like she is that passionate

I like Osipova better (my opinion)

  • yeah i love osipova.

  • but she's got style

  • Linda interpretacao dessa jovem bailarina.

  • for me the best esmeralda in the world:)

    After her osipova

  • i don't like her arms

  • Because her arms are very expressive?

People are born with what they are born with.

    Somethings you can't change.

  • WOOOOOOOOW! BRAVO!

  • amazing presentation... shipulina takes the play of esmeralda excellently...

  • I thought Osipova's interpretation was the best...it was because I still haven't found Shipulina. She's very special...dances with heart, and it's very clear :-)

  • same. i totally just changed my mind :P

  • I thought Osipova's interpretation was the best...it was because I still haven't found Shipulina. She's very special...dances with heart, and it's very clear :-)

  • but they are both sooooo good i wish i cld be like them!

  • Oh yes I have seen Osipova's interpretation but Shipulina is far more elegant and gracious..

  • Yes. But Osipova's is better in the technical sense.

  • helonitsa: obviously you havent seen natalia osipova's dance of esmeralda. she is amazing

  • I think this is the most clean variation!

  • not enough pirouette. I love this dance and I think it should be 3 .

    Am I wrong?

  • She isnt over her arch enough!

  • I agree. I hate seeing flat feet on pointe!

  • She's good! She has very nice extention and a flexible back.

  • The most gracious and elegant Esmeralda on YouTube...

  • have you seen natalia osipova's interpretation

  • Yes, she's also great but I still prefer Shipulina :)

  • a significant portion of the choreography is missing (my fave part!!!) but she's technically stunning :)

  • I think she is very beautiful and she has great extensions

    she's amazing!!

  • omg she is so amazing!! look at her extensions look at her turns look at her style she brings to the dance! she is amazing and half of you dont know what your talking about/and or know what a good dancer is.

  • I don't think this solo suits her...you should see her in other things like one of the princesses in Swan Lake...she has such fluid, expressive arms..like running water...

  • It depens on how old she is, if she's only about 13 than that's great, I reckon that that's really good- even for a 16 year old!!!!!!!!!!

  • Not good indeed

  • i cant believe how u guys dont see shes not good. look at her fucking pirouettes. do you see any control or ba;ance in them??? wtf makes you think her attitude makes her a good dancer???

  • shes in the Bolshoi, obviously shes a good dancer

  • so what if she can't turn? The average consecutive turning rate is two. She has emotion and spirit and great technique and yes the first clue would be she's in the Bolshoi!

  • oh god, shut up! not all ballet dancers are fucking anorexic.

  • awesome. just please eat a little.

  • shut up asshole! she is an incredible dancer! exercise make you thin and dancers do nothing but that because its their career!

  • 1) she really isnt all that great, 2) she does need to put on some weight because being stick thin and stalky is just not pretty and 3)exercise does make you skinny, but it isnt healthy to be that skinny. you have to eat too.

  • i'm sorry, but just because someone is thin doesn't mean she's anorexic. i'm a ballerina and compared to some of the other girls and women i've seen perform, this dancer is not and thinner than all the others. you stop assuming that thin = eating disorder.

  • uhhh im not assuming that thin= an eating disorder. i have a very thin girl at my dance studio and she isnt anorexic. but that doesnt mean she cant put on a little weight. it also isnt pretty when your that thin, so i dont know why people decide to stay very bone-showing thin

  • i understand what you're saying, and i apologize for sounding mean. it's just that i'm very thin, but it's very diffcult for me to 'put on weight' because of how active i am and it's insutling when you say very thin is unatractive.

  • im sorry. i didnt mean to be insulting. please forgive me. :(

  • wooow!! she is soooo good! =D

I love her legs and her atittude!.. she is so thin =O

  • Peccato che sia incompleto :-(

  • ...I watched it again, and changed my mind XD She's not good, she's very good! Very expressive, elegant, she got lotta style. She should just improve her pirouettes ;P

  • ..she's not so good in pirouettes.. I know, it's really hard, but I've seen better *_* I'd like to see the missing part, which is the most difficult (full of tournaments!).. Good, no doubt, but not the best Esmeralda :)

  • ok, so she is thin and flexible....

  • exactly. she isnt that great of a dancer, just thin and flexible.

  • Awesomme technique beautiful artistry luvvvvvvvvv it.

  • Goregous-ness.

  • WOW!!! That is beautiful!

  • she is simply stunning holy crap how is she that good?

anyone have advice on how to improve extensions??????

  • Beutiful!! Perfect!! =D

  • thanks troubadour8 !

but anybody can give me an advice to improve my turnout ???

  • the best esmeralda ive seen

my turn out its also very bad

    any advice?

    sorry for my english!

  • ole ballet 9 good luck to you thanks for your kind comment ~~ Keep working

Look out for Shipulina in Spartacus DON.Q & La Bayadere She is a very versatile talented Bolshoi star ballerina

  • very well suited for the roll

  • ole hi odille Shipulina is always fun to take for dinner after performances and for shopping on her day off hope you enjoy your viewing dear

  • Absolutely loved her timing on the music... one of the best, ever. And she's amazing...

Btw, guess that dancex0love is herself a Bolshoi ballerina to preach this way on Osipova, right? Get a grip, girl, go to the bar, shut up and LEARN!

  • Shipulina is one of the best of the best Bolshoi Ballet stars~~ sad this poor video is not up to the same high standard ~~ invest in a better Kamera PLEASE

  • she's absolutely gorgeous! except of her hands !

  • Dancex0love can I assume you have bad extension. Dont be so jealous. I am not as good as her but still love it!Dont rain on her pirade!

  • Lots of dancers have a problem with turning out. I know I do, but I make it work with what I do have. Her expression from what I can tell is nice. Ship. is a wonderful dancer no matter what technical difficulties she has! A good dancer comes from the heart...Not the turn out. But in the dance industry high legs are what they want. So today's society is harder to dance in.

  • try turning out, dance is an art not to show off how high your leg can go...god!

  • uhmm excuse you she is very turned out and the point of a high leg is to show the evelopee (sp?) on the way back and she pulled that off...very well in fact. it comes with experience which i'm sure you lack in.

  • both Ekaterina & her mother are delightful friendly characters to meet

always ready to meet fans sign programmes & discuss the performances they are great Russian ballet ambassadors

  • Excellent! She used her flexibility well. the turns were amazing too!

  • wow she was really good.

  • GORGEOUS tutu...if the bottom were gold, not white. The white is a bit bright! Her dancing is lovely. Beautiful to watch--and she has that gypsy flair!

  • bad feet.

  • very well done! the choreography is nice and also difficult to manage with the music i reckon. but she manages very well. i love it.

  • beautiful costume i love the colorr!

  • man that was brilliant.

She was soo good! i wanted to see the whole thing! :( lol.

Who the hell said it was raymonda?!?! this is esmeralda!!

  • Who wrote the music?! Drigo or Glazunov?!

The dancer is awesome!!! She's got great feet!

  • Now she's amazing! The music seems tricky to dance to, but she nails it.

  • Simply Beautiful!!!

  • BRAVO!!!!!!

  • Mmmmm, I love this music :) I love her great legs, and extension!

  • There is a brilliant Estonian artist who is touring a show that presents something similar (but he has arranged the music himself, and has injected postmodernist elements as well as parts from traditional Estonian goorchkas and fertility dances).

View it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sdbsqzU0Fg . Please do leave your thoughts and comments, as well as which country you are from, as Kaljy is a Brechtian and is constantly revising his performance to more fully envelop the audience.

  • Gorgeous! What ballet is this, Notre Dame de Paris? I really like the music too and would like to know who it's by.

  • Raymonda by Petipa, composer of the music is Alexander Glazunov.

  • It's not Raymonda

It's "La Esmeralda" (Variation II of the Grande Pas de Deux)

Music: Riccardo Drigo, Choreography: Petipa, Vaganova

  • oh, yes, sorry!

  • BEAUTIFUL! i love the coreography!
