  • @dewaynecullen bullshit mother fucker!

  • @19kking you jelly ?

  • <3 2:13 - 2:30

  • I heard this song on the Chrysler commercial and when I saw Jay Z listed as the artist I was like, no way. It has funk vibe that is not contemporary (yet it is) and it harkens back to the 60's-70's sound. Glad to see I was right! Thanks, Youtube.

  • @manipool Kanye sampled this for Jay-Z, but I still like this one better

  • Comment removed

  • The lincoln lawyers!

  • nice song

  • Kanye basically stole this beat SMH

  • @MrVIP1993 seems like Kanye West is the ONLY hip hop artist/producer you have ever heard of....theres more to hiphop than just what you 16 year olds hear in the charts.... listen to some old hip hop.... 'stealing' sounds from records started in the 70s.....

  • @ArtiztikAA ok 1. What does my statement have to do with kanye being supposedly the only producer I know?. 2. I'm not 16 i'm 18 actually going on 19 in march LOL (just thought you should know that) and yeah bro I know people sample stuff in hip hop I know all about that but when they sample its usually parts of songs, vocals or beats and add their own mix but this is basically a carbon copy. Kanye is also my fave artist so im not hating

  • @MrVIP1993 you SMH (shook my head) at the fact that your fav artist 'stole' this beat.It didnt seem like you were shining sun up his......Dig a little deeper into hiphop and you'll find it happens more often than not and you wouldnt appear surprised that even your fav artist 'steals' beats or samples... its hiphop.

  • @ArtiztikAA Yeah i've never actually heard something that sounds exactly the same like this before but yeah I will look more into it thanks

  • @MrVIP1993 Its called sampling, a large part of hip hop, Thats like saying Rock bands stole the Idea of using drums from the Jazz era

  • @mrpuffypantsV I know what sampling is and all that of course but isn't sampling usually like taking only parts of songs, vocals or a small part of an instrumental and then add your own mix to make your own beat with that? Im just saying because this sounds exactly the same as the jay z version nothing different the whole beat was used not just a part of it thats why i said that and I like kanye BTW

  • Fuck jay-z. Fuck every rapper that ruins amazing old songs, oh wait, every rapper does that.

  • @likasomeboodee1 and probably YOU wouldnt even know about 'old' songs if it weren't for 'every rapper' 'ruining' amazing songs...learn what hip hop is about then you'll understand.....

  • @ArtiztikAA I was about to tell him the same thing b

  • @likasomeboodee1 Knowledge about hiphop would come in handy while making statements like these. Hiphop-artists pay tribute to the music they love and grew up with by sampling this. Stick to commenting on Skrillex if you don't know shit.

  • Comment removed

  • @SmokefaceBeats what you just said is the most profound thing ever. If it weren't for many of the renditions and tributes by today's artists many of the new generation wouldn't be able to hear what truly paved the way

  • Oh snap! What you just said is so profound @SmokefaceBeats

  • I hear a Native American theme in this song, especially in the instrumental section (that is featured in the Chrysler commercial) Can someone explain to me why I make this association? Is there something to it or am I just losing my mind?

  • @cuvtixo similar bassline to cherokee nation

  • @cuvtixo It's the Kanye West version in the commercial.

  • they should play this song in an episode of the walking dead! :o

  • @SmokefaceBeats Was that Chrysler commercial a Jay-z version? Because on the commercial the overcompression on those snares are terrible. I was thinking the commercial was a remastered version of Bobby made for the loudness war. If Kanye made the beat he needs to get back in the lab with Preemo and PR and learn how to mix instead of stealing Pete Rock drums.

  • LOVE this song!!!

  • Where can I jump on the hate bandwagon?

  • @SmokefaceBeats very true... I love sampling when it is done correctly and in good taste. Sampling has allowed me to find new favorites by samples replayed in newer songs!!! I am always looking up origionals for songs with samples for that reason.

  • Anal loove

  • the one in the commercial is the jay-z one and i like it because it is a little sped up

  • @SmokefaceBeats Couldnt have worded that any better. Good post, thank you.

  • anal love in the heart of the city

  • DJ HERO brought me here!

  • One of the all-time greatest songs! Still after all these years I get shivers listening to it. What a voice that man had..

  • Anal love

  • @bennythefuckingbull lol awsome!

  • @bennythefuckingbull ... Lmao, that changes the entire song...

  • @bennythefuckingbull LMFAOOOOOOOOO dude you almost killed me AHAHAHAH

  • @bennythefuckingbull anal love.. sure is a pity 1:17

  • @bennythefuckingbull ahahahhahaa

  • @SmokefaceBeats Very true and second of all I don't think people who are hating on Jay are actually listing to what he say... cause he's talking about them obviously.

  • Here's to Bill Brasky !!!

  • thumbs up if you recognize this from "The Lincoln Lawyer"

  • Thumbs up if you realize the song in the commercial is sped up and is a jayz sample..original is dope

  • @SmokefaceBeats couldn't have said it any better

  • i wasn't too happy bout the commercial but i still love the track. Nothing destroys authenticity like a commercial but then again nothing can destroy this track.

  • Sampling is not designed to bring new listeners to old music... Sampling is a method of making lousy music worth listening to. It's referred to as "beat jacking" and it's foul. Any loser can take a song that was #1 a few decades ago (when music was real, original, and good), and bring it back with some crappy lyrics. Everyone's bumping it and then the OGs on the block are shaking their heads like, "you wouldn't know real music if it bit you in the a**." That's why.

  • @actofwar77 precisely. and to get money the easy way, by stealing other artist's good music/beats

  • im 25 but grew up on this....thanks grandma....beautiful music...

  • Thumbs up if you knew this song before the car commercial in Dj hero

  • anal love

  • gangsta

  • thas how the shoud music sound ... beatifull ..lov this song

  • Chrysler commercial and Lil Phat

  • is it me or is this song just a little Bland?! . . Bobby Bland, slap a lil' stank on it !!

  • LUV DIS. i listened to jay z, i wasnt satisfied. then i heard this, and BOOM my ears loved it

  • 22 years old here <_< Heard this version as part of growing up. I'm with others. "sampling" didn't bring me to it lol.

  • great song and fuck jay-z,this is real deal

  • Jay Z's hip hop remake was pretty good, but i gotta say that this was the best one. Loves it and reminds me about the big Apple (New York).

  • i want to live in this song

  • lincoln lawyer yeah

  • CHRYSLER COMMERCIAL BIATCH!!!!!!!

  • linoln lawyer :)

  • @SmokefaceBeats lol i didnt even know that jay-z covered this song. i heard it from the chrysler 300 commercial.

  • @SmokefaceBeats my only complaint is that jay z's overrated and fake ass lyrics ruined the beat kanye made out of the sample.

  • Imported from Detroit

  • VEVO didnt ruin this yet....am i right?

  • I def ain't heard Jays version first, or seen Lincoln Warrior. I'm here for good music.

  • Gangster...Those whiteboys will never do this song no justice....Whitesnake and Eminem....Chuurch.

  • @silky1700 the men who wrote this song are white dumbass

  • @daabdomin Who cares if whitemen wrote this song nobody sings it better than a blackman and you know that. Go listnen to brittany Spears faggot. Why you even over here listnening to our music if you gonna bring up two faggots also.

  • @silky1700 because you said whitemen cant do this song justice. So i was just stating the fact that white men wrote this song.. And what do you mean by "our" music?? are you in some elite group thats only allowed to listen to this? or are you racist and think only black people are allowed to listen to it? you dont know anything about music...go fuck yourself "faggot"

  • @daabdomin Cracker u know it sounds better when a blackman sing it faggot. That's all whitepeople do is hate u see it all over youtube so they just getting aliitle hate back bitch...Fuck you and your herpes ass horse u rode in on u pussy. Hate brings on hate so get ready for it. Only the strong survive and we are survivors.

  • @silky1700 I'd love to see you face to face, and kick the shit out of your ignorant ass.

  • @TheNattak Looking at you page i'm pretty sure u don't want to see me u pussy. The whiteman can hate but we can't huh faggot...If u want to see me bring ur ass to Miami and we can get it on faggot.

  • @SmokefaceBeats i would venture most people's first expierence with this song was with the movie, linoln lawyer.

  • @SmokefaceBeats So true man!

  • @SmokefaceBeats Exactly, I couldn't have said it better myself. By Kanye sampling this song, if anything it's a tip of the hat to Bobby Bland. It shows Kanye appreciated his work enough to use it in his own. Sampling is showing respect for those who made great music in their time and bringing it to the newer generation. Whether or not you're a fan of hip-hop or not is irrelevant, you should still respect the art behind sampling.

  • Who cares for a freaking thumbs up?! We're just hear to enjoy some tunes!

  • Thumbs up if the chrysler 300 commercial brought you here!

  • Comment removed

  • @USONOFAV whitesnake brought me here :)

  • @USONOFAV naw my mom played bobby b often wen i was young so I had to school some people who thought Jay and Kanye came up with it on their own.

  • @USONOFAV nah man... dj hero brought me hero.

  • @USONOFAV What a shame it took a commercial to bring you to this song

  • @wageslave333 so you're saying I should feel shame that I liked a song that I heard on a commercial? There is no denying that it would be great if I had heard the song before I saw the commercial. However, I don't think it is a shame that a commercial introduced me to the song. I think its great really. I may never have been exposed to it otherwise.

  • the writer of this song was one helluva blues singer and musician - fucker could stay up 25 hours a day and mount 15 women where as each one would have 10 orgasms each - the fucker's name . . . Bill Brasky !

  • @dewaynecullen mike price and Dan Walsh wrote this tune

  • @SmokefaceBeats Sampling is for talentless losers who want to cash in on somebody else achievements from 30-40yrs ago! and people are tired of it. Nothing more than a new audience to cash in on. Why can't they come up with their ideas?.. because they cant. So they resort to ripping off the greats of the past, no one respects that.

  • @Napco205 Stupidest comment I've read on Youtube. If they were trying to 'cash in on a new audience' (this is why you're stupid by the way,) then Bobby Bland fans would all be listening to Jay and Kanye. Another reason you're an idiot is the fact that all of the music that rappers spit over is sampled from something. I'd rather hear the evolution of blues in black American culture as juxtaposition in the chorus of a rap song, than have people forget about classics like these slowly.

  • @dudesgothair If that's the stupidest comment you've read on youtube, you must be new here.

  • @Napco205 The only crews I can think of off the top of my head that don't sample music are The Roots and Justice System. I don't know anybody that's really into rap that's tired of sampling songs. Unless you want everything boxed by Dougie Fresh. Like in The Virgo. That would be beast.

  • @dudesgothair I don't know who Dougie Fresh is, this is coming from someone who despises anything rap/hip pop, I don't acknowledge any of it. But I know sampling is a huge thing for rap. Anything hip pop/rap is looked down upon and purely sucks, so yes people are sick of it and want it gone forever!

  • thumbs up if you came here because of The Lincoln Lawyer

  • Great song and great singing too.

  • I just came here beacuse of the lincoln Lawyer Movie

  • REAL MUSIC

  • This is sampled in that new Chrysler commercial.

  • i've been looking for a certain version of this song for quite a while... does anybody know a hip hop version of this song which has the same melody but a lot faster and there are about 3 or 4 rappers rappin....i just can't find that damn version...thx in advance

  • @penisimschnee its the Jay-z remix I'm guessing

  • Comment removed

  • @54B13L I'm sure the version i'm talking about is not from jay-z...
