The whole team should be fired using your logic, because they lost as a team. They were not watching each others back at that moment, that is why they lost.

Actually, it had nothing really to do with the rest of the team not watching each others' backs. The bottom line is the special teams coach is responisble to call the proper plays to defend against field goals. Part of that job is being able to count how many men you are ordering onto the field.

I understand that, but there are safe guards in case someone missed the assignment, and in this case, under the circumstances the entire team neglected their safeguards that would have prevented their error. The assignment to count the players on the field is designated to a person to do, and that was a missed assignment.
