Please reply to me!! Thanks!!! By the way your an amazing rider!! U should hav
I'm 11 and jumping 3 feet on my 12 hh pony. How old r u? Well you r probably really good now. Good video. Pretty horse. What breed is he? I have a welsh/ Shetland pony.
ur a good rider n ur actually kinda pritty so thts a bonus for u hahaha u did well for ur first show to come 6th(was it..?) so yahh haha i hvnt been in a show yet so id be really nervous i think.
ooooohhh wow that is sooo amazing that u can jump for only riding for a month and your 2 POINT WAS JUST PERRRFFEECCTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good job but i saw u holding him back when he tried cantering next time try to just let him go un less u never canterd befor
very nice job. I can't wait to see how you've inproved since then! My first show(s) I was doing x-rails and 2' and I had ALOT of trouble because I rode green horses all the time and I still do, but now I train 2-4yr old horses/ponys and show up to 3'6" Jumpers with my 7yr old mare. good job!!!

Great for your first show :) I thought you did amazing except that your heels and lower leg were kind of all over the place haha. Post from your legs not your heels, it really works and it takes the weight off your heels.
Wonderful job and very cute pony! Just a bit of concstructive criticism, when you post, it helps not to post as high. Softer landings and raising yourself slightly less high out of your seat may help improve your balance and position. You're doing a fantastic job for only a month of riding! Keep having fun!
i thought u did really good 4 ur 1st show. wen i did my 1st one i did not do sooo great but i kept practicing nd got a lot better i will b in 1 soon soo i make sure i post it. just wen u trot try not 2 post soo high just slow down a little. but other wise great job!!! :)
You guys did great I didnt know horses would jump things that small lol when ever I try to get my horse to he trots over them lmao but any ways you guys did great I wish my horse would do this he will only jump if there over a foot =/
u did amazing! expesially for ur first show. btw not too be rude but try not too kick/speeze tht much, just speeze then relise, cos eventually ur horse becomes prone too ur speezes. nd trust me its not the nicest thing. my horse doesnt listen too my leg anymore. xxx u did amazing! xxxx
your jump postition looks really good!! the only thing is when you are posting you are kind of thrusting your pelvis foreward and going too high... I understand this was your first show and all so not bad for your first time just on a jump course your post is supposed to be up then down ligtly... lol your pony is beautiful!!!!!!!
sorry i did not know u only been riding for a month but at the end you did relley good so i was going to go back and type how good you were but it did not let me becuz i had already posted it ........so sorry again
who are you to judge what i should of and shouldn't have done? my trainer felt that i was ready, and if you watch the video i never a) sat on his back over a jump, or b) caught his mouth
i did not fall off, did not loose control of my pony.. i think i was perfectly capable of jumping at a show. time is not a restriction on how fast you can progress. and they're freaking cross rails. anyone can do cross rails.
@EEWinterFresh um, there was no possibility of you falling off at a w/t over cross rails. most trainers dont let their students jump after a month..im sorry, but thats kinda dumb. it takes time to learn the proper way to jump..not saying you dont know how, just that it doesn't take a month to learn how to jump.
@haflingercrazy --- it is her and her trainers choice if she jumps in that show and you shouldn't judge ok. and you did very well at your show and a very pretty pony you have
wow, good job! I've been riding for years and haven't even went to a horse show yet, although I am training for my 1st one now! I can't even jump yet, but I'm learning : ), once again, good job!
this was so cool! I am 19 and haven't got to ride very much in my life (but buying my first horse eee!!) Can't wait to show! I hope to do this well! Wow you really are a natural!!
wow a month!!!!!! your good!!! i did my first show yesterday and i had been riding for like 9 years lol i just never really wanted to show but my friend has this awesome horse skippy and so they talked me in to doing it and now im TOTTALY absesed with showing now lol great job!!!!
WOw! Your first show that's amazing. I've been riding since I was 5 so I know how to do tons now but 1 months! Your a natural. At my first jumping show, everybody was like, 14 years old. I was only 6! They even made me do a course. But some how I got 1st place! Now the 4 foot fences scare me. This what I say to my coach, "I;m only ten! Give me a break!" But she doesn't listen anyway. This summer I'm going in about 10 horse shows!! Wish me luck!!
wow great job for your first show and riding for only a month!!! i didnt have my first show until i had been riding for over two years! but i do eventing so its a little more compkicated with cross country!! amazing job!!! when you post(i know you said this vid was old) you might get a better responce if you dont post quite so high but you did really greaT!!
just a lil advise a few trotting awy fro mthe jump stop posting and get off his back a lil bit not like a 2 point just a lil off his back if you wanna know what i mean watch some maclay finals riders just type i "maclay finals" in the search bar an watch what they do
OMG!!! LOL at the beggining of the vid the lady was making so much noise coming down from the bleechers!! what an idiot she disturbed the whole thing!!
Im srry but why were you trotting over them??? ur sapposed to canter them! Heres some advice!:) Dont pull back when he begins to canter you sit back in ur seat. and at u were goin way to slow and u were going to high in 2 point!! I am not trying to be mean but im just giving u advice. Good job!!:)
Why were you trotting the jumps at horse shows you always canter i would know i have been showing for ever and gone in tons of meddle classes and have a really nice horse and never have gotten any thing worse then a 6th
well, let's see... i was trotting the jumps because it was a WALK/TROT class. therefore, you were supposed to trot the jumps, the judges really didn't want you to canter the jumps.
and having a really nice horse doesn't mean anything about knowledge. btw, i think you mean medal. meddle actually means; to bother oneself in what is not one's concern. which is what you are doing...
just when your posting feel the horse unerneath you and if they are just doing a good working trot like in your video post slower and smaller it will help alot when you need to speed your horse up or slow them down but congrats! really for only riding a month! thats awesome:D
omg thats amazing for only riding for a month! congrats! You must have a wonderful riding future ahead! You were posting pretty hard and high, but i think for riding for only a month thats not a huge deal, im sure you have improved already =)
You did great for riding only for a month?! WOW! You did a great job! Not being rude- but when you post you go a little to fast, Try posting a little-bit softer. :) Hope this helps some. Cute horse =D
how about all ou pepole shut up, she did fine! i wish i could jump half as good as her.... if you go on you tube just to say rude things you need help.... or a LIFE!!!
You did really good for ur 1st show!!!!! My 1st show was a schooling show at my barn and it was walk and if u can trot i got 2 out of 4!!! because my horse was lazy and would not trot!!!! you did way better then i did you should be really proud of your self
You did a really good job in your first show :) what i can see from the movie is that you go a bit to far over the jump so just sit back a bit more. other then that you did an awesome job. Congrats
You did really well, when I did my first show I had been riding for a year and I was 7 haha, and I got third place.. it sucked lol you did amazing for your first try, don't let anyone tell you that you're bad
you did amazingly well, i can't believe you only had a monthes experience of riding. trotting in to jumps is actually a great way to start off and should always be used to warm up no matter what your experience. don't listen to the bad comments, there is no reason at all for them, your a fab rider in the making! x
you did well but try and post a little lower , i have that problem too except that happens when i let my nerves get to me because i get super nervous at horse shows
cool when i did my first jumping show i forgot the patern and just jumped over randome stuff lol i normaly did western or english ground but not jumping but ow well you did good lol i laughes so hard when i forgot my patern but i was 9 so lol
was it an open show??? and I was a nervous reck during my first show I was so scared but I got a 1st and a 3rd and was very proud of my 2o yr. old arab mare to keep luggin me around!! but it was a really small show
ur an awsome rider and u dont try to sounds like ur amazing like everyone else on youtube. great job at urfirst show! how is the horse scene in florida? i mght be moving there
id be moving to Jupiter (near west palm). we have family there and my dad is sick of cold (i live in rhode island lol) is there a lot of barrel racing/gymkana in FL? thats wut i do. and how does weather affect your riding
HEY Great job you look good the only thing is that your posting is...well it is hard on the eyes....lol...you are posting to high posting should be a calm little movement up and down stay closer to your saddle! you looked excellant!
wo! you have only been riding for a month and your already jumping and in hunter shows?! Thats crazy!! I have been riding for a year and havnt started jumping! Your pretty good for only have been riding for 1 month! Just a tip..To get the horse to accept the contact takes lots and lots of practice. You will get it soon.
try not to do too much of a half seat over the jumps tho. your overexaggurating it. and well i bet uve gotten better. u seem to pick things up quickly (:
when you post dont come that far out of the saddle. plus it hurts the horses back :(
and your not jump 5 foot yet!
haha when you go over itty bitty cross rails slightly stand up in your saddle and grab little bit of mane closer to the saddle
when you get in your 2-point you make the horse have more pressure on his front feet and that make him more off balance plus it make the horse go faster
you have to much spring in ur rising trot ur only ment to go up slightly and down holding urshelf gracfully down remeber english riding is ver gracfull and wiff movements
you get alot of thing to do at the barn ur at mine isnt evan a barn XD its more like a private proptys i can try and do pony club that way im able to go to shows and camp with the horse =]
That was great for you're first show! The only thing I noticed was your heels when you post (which was mentioned by someone else below). Also when you post you tend to post really hard and towards the back of your saddle, I have that problem too! Just try to post a little softer and more forward. You have great equitation for only riding for a month! You look like someone who has been riding for a while!
Good job! Be glad your at a barn that waited a little before tossing you into a show, my first place didn't. I think more flat work would really help you out. You where kinda cruising around the course, it's OK to make him look like an english horse! he was going about as fast as a western horse! and give him a kick before those jumps! Then he'll jump them not just trot over them.
Nice job! Good way to start with a schooling show and by having fun! Keep it up once your knee is back in the game!
you are great for having only been riding for a month! the only thing i notices was that you post a bit too high (you are trying a bit too hard). just try to let the horse lift you into the position. other than that, amazing job! you did great.
that awsome for only riding a month!the only thing ive noticed is that you kind or exagerate the post with your upper body, and puch out with your feet trying to get up for the poct...try using your calf a bit more and not your feet..but still lean into your heals..hope i helped!:]]but great job over all!
You did awesome for only riding 1 month! Only thing I have to say is don't post so high and keep your hands down. Also don't lean at the jump, wait for it to come to you. But your posture over the jumps in REALLLLLY good!!!!! I mean really!
I learned to ride on green horses and it has made me a MUCH better rider. My trainer wasn't exactly a person to be prepared for students but he couldn't afford finished horses. So I ended up riding a huge hanoverian as my second lesson horse. She was a very moody mare. Then I rode a quarab who had alot of spirit. Then a welsh pony who was very quick, and not exactly a lesson pony but I adored her. Then a crazy shetland and so on and so forth. Keep up the good work!
Oh your so lucky to start to be showing! I would be doing green hunter w/ my own horse and 2'9''-3' w/ another horse! But Jack(my horse) may have lyme disease. We are waiting for the results to come back. If it is then we will be showing very soon after he gets better.Jack loves to jump and it would be heartbreaking to know that maybe if it is something else then he may not be able to jump for the rest of his life =/
i think u look very good for your first show, and i think u could use some practice over trot jumps, although those are harder than cantering them, in my opinion!
i think you will be a FABULOUS rider when you have more practice, overall GREAT!
and yeah, I was so excited and like "omggomgmgmgggitsmyfirstshowwandi'mdoingthisclasatthelastminutea;ldkfj;adkfj;lkdfj!!!" That I really anticipated the jump, and like threw myself on there. especially in the first class. :]
girl you need to move up to a horse and start doing some bigger stuff!Your such a good rider you could do at least 2ft! Except for some minor errors(that we all have)you look so ready to move up a level or two.I think if you can do that well for your first show imagine how good you'll do at more to come.I'd practice cantering your course and posting a little smaller.Think about letting the horse just bounce you up instead of posting high and making it look hard.GREAT JOB!
yeah, I'm on a horse now, it's just that this would of been his first "outing" so we weren't sure if he'd be okay or not. and it ends up that he was, so I'll be on him from now on.
Yeah.. I swear my post is smaller now :D It's just that Cade was so far behind my leg, and like half a sleep, I had to kick him ever time I come down. but thanks for the advice! and starting my no-stirrup work, so cantering should come soon.
lol i understand what it's like to ride a horse that is behind your leg. But hey you'll have stronger legs! I'd rather ride something that's a bit of a challenge than something made. You'll be a much better rider in the long run if you learn to ride hard or not so easy horses from the start :)
my horse is an Appendix Paint, he was started late cuz of a growth spurt and then his previous owners trained him to jump incorrectly lol. But he's really learned the proper way now, and so he's doing well. We're gonna go to pebble beach at the end of july (it's a rated show, but we're doing schooling shows in it) and we'll be there for a week. He knows all the other horses going really, so its good experience for him.:)
you have a great 2point, but he's really mostly just stepping over those, so for crossrails that small, try to make a smaller release, and not be so close to his neck. Lol i've watched the beginning part a million times, over the second one it kinda looked like you threw your upper body at his neck, but it may have been the angle or something...
@horsesrule54 cant u read the title says my first horse show.
and btw she did very well and beautiful horse :)
HorsezRock1000 3 weeks ago
I think that you did very good for your first horse show! Even if it was just a schooling show!!! Congrats!!
Sallyismygoat 2 months ago
Very nice! But you don't need to ge ton the neck for such a small jump. Sit up and support yourself and get in normal 1/2 seat. Hope this helped!!((:

Considering this video was posted back in 2008, I'm sure this rider had improved greatly, and moreover she wasn't asking for critiques.
You did a great job, especially since you had only been riding for a month!!
hunterjumper28 1 year ago
ive got a couple of things ur kinda not that gud at
1. You lean way to forward when jumping over little jumps
and
2. You shouldnt pull on your ponys mouth, just let your pony canter, your pulling on the ponies mouth to much.
btw i dont mean to be mean or anything so hopes this helps in the future

Holly8177 2 years ago
WOW! You had only been riding about a month when this video was taken? Nice job! You must be a natural!

EEWinterFresh 2 years ago
Im srry but why were you trotting over them??? ur sapposed to canter them! Heres some advice!:) Dont pull back when he begins to canter you sit back in ur seat. and at u were goin way to slow and u were going to high in 2 point!! I am not trying to be mean but im just giving u advice. Good job!!:)
xhorsejumperx11 2 years ago
it was a walk trot class if you cantered points would of been taken off
ilovepreciousjim 2 years ago
Why were you trotting the jumps at horse shows you always canter i would know i have been showing for ever and gone in tons of meddle classes and have a really nice horse and never have gotten any thing worse then a 6th
ilovescottymyhorse 2 years ago
well, let's see... i was trotting the jumps because it was a WALK/TROT class. therefore, you were supposed to trot the jumps, the judges really didn't want you to canter the jumps.
and having a really nice horse doesn't mean anything about knowledge. btw, i think you mean medal. meddle actually means; to bother oneself in what is not one's concern. which is what you are doing...
:)

you have a nice two point
just when your posting feel the horse unerneath you and if they are just doing a good working trot like in your video post slower and smaller it will help alot when you need to speed your horse up or slow them down but congrats! really for only riding a month! thats awesome:D
handxinxmine 2 years ago
i agree! Just post a bit smaller but otherwise awsome job! I can't wait for my first show!
Toprider27 2 years ago

mogielue 2 years ago

You did a really good job in your first show :) what i can see from the movie is that you go a bit to far over the jump so just sit back a bit more. other then that you did an awesome job. Congrats

You did really well, when I did my first show I had been riding for a year and I was 7 haha, and I got third place.. it sucked lol you did amazing for your first try, don't let anyone tell you that you're bad

cut her some slack
Live4theponies 3 years ago
hmmm. let's see here.
A) I had only been riding for ONE MONTH at this time.
B) I had been jumping for maybe, one week at this time? and had switched into this class for at the last minute.
C) and I'm not cantering because its a WALK TROT class.
EEWinterFresh 3 years ago
you did amazingly well, i can't believe you only had a monthes experience of riding. trotting in to jumps is actually a great way to start off and should always be used to warm up no matter what your experience. don't listen to the bad comments, there is no reason at all for them, your a fab rider in the making! x

turnNburn84 3 years ago
thanks :)
the horse scene in FL is really really big. We have some big horse show areas, like Ocala.
Do you know where you might be moving to?
EEWinterFresh 3 years ago
id be moving to Jupiter (near west palm). we have family there and my dad is sick of cold (i live in rhode island lol) is there a lot of barrel racing/gymkana in FL? thats wut i do. and how does weather affect your riding
turnNburn84 3 years ago
hey!!!
Yeah, it was at Wickham, and I just went to the one that was this past weekend.
wait, were you there at that one? the hsitp one?
where do you ride at?
EEWinterFresh 3 years ago
HEY Great job you look good the only thing is that your posting is...well it is hard on the eyes....lol...you are posting to high posting should be a calm little movement up and down stay closer to your saddle! you looked excellant!
horselover2009 3 years ago
wo! you have only been riding for a month and your already jumping and in hunter shows?! Thats crazy!! I have been riding for a year and havnt started jumping! Your pretty good for only have been riding for 1 month! Just a tip..To get the horse to accept the contact takes lots and lots of practice. You will get it soon.
DressageDressage 3 years ago
You have really great potential to be an amzing rider. Just keep it at and you'll be there veryyy soon. Great job!
H0RSECRAZYx32 3 years ago
nice job
try not to do too much of a half seat over the jumps tho. your overexaggurating it. and well i bet uve gotten better. u seem to pick things up quickly (:
xxluvin0uxx 3 years ago
but got a sencond in jumping
(sry my other comment was to long)
horsejumper13 3 years ago
heels need to be down more...
when you post dont come that far out of the saddle. plus it hurts the horses back :(
and your not jump 5 foot yet!
haha when you go over itty bitty cross rails slightly stand up in your saddle and grab little bit of mane closer to the saddle
when you get in your 2-point you make the horse have more pressure on his front feet and that make him more off balance plus it make the horse go faster
but congrats on your first show
i got bucked off in mine first show
horsejumper13 3 years ago
thanks, but i know all of these things.
and i had only been riding for one month.
i'm a lot better now.
EEWinterFresh 3 years ago
you have to much spring in ur rising trot ur only ment to go up slightly and down holding urshelf gracfully down remeber english riding is ver gracfull and wiff movements
TamTamHorsey 3 years ago
yes thank you. I know what English riding is about and what it's supposed to look like.
& maybe if you took the time to read my info about it, you'd see that I had only been riding for a month.
and a lot has changed since this show, and I know what I did wrong here. I do have a trainer you know.
EEWinterFresh 3 years ago
oh im not saying u dont i did notice after i sent the reply but u didnt do that bad u were doing good =] not meaning to sound mean at all
TamTamHorsey 3 years ago
you get alot of thing to do at the barn ur at mine isnt evan a barn XD its more like a private proptys i can try and do pony club that way im able to go to shows and camp with the horse =]
TamTamHorsey 3 years ago
That was great for you're first show! The only thing I noticed was your heels when you post (which was mentioned by someone else below). Also when you post you tend to post really hard and towards the back of your saddle, I have that problem too! Just try to post a little softer and more forward. You have great equitation for only riding for a month! You look like someone who has been riding for a while!
KeeperOfTheStars201 3 years ago
EquiRider 3 years ago
you are great for having only been riding for a month! the only thing i notices was that you post a bit too high (you are trying a bit too hard). just try to let the horse lift you into the position. other than that, amazing job! you did great.
RubyQH123 3 years ago
that was a really nice job, just try to ease into the two point a little more. other than that, great and congrats on your placing!
BuckskinGirl411 3 years ago
that awsome for only riding a month!the only thing ive noticed is that you kind or exagerate the post with your upper body, and puch out with your feet trying to get up for the poct...try using your calf a bit more and not your feet..but still lean into your heals..hope i helped!:]]but great job over all!
ZOMGwisner 3 years ago
great job! wow youve only been riding a month... wow ur really good even tho i dont know anything about english haha:D

wow! ur a great rider for only 1 month!
u should have seen me a month after starting lol disaster :P good job! imagine how good you'll be in a year!!
riding4ever67 3 years ago
You did awesome for only riding 1 month! Only thing I have to say is don't post so high and keep your hands down. Also don't lean at the jump, wait for it to come to you. But your posture over the jumps in REALLLLLY good!!!!! I mean really!
ILOVEJAZZ93 3 years ago
And you are doing great! lol
Keep up the good work!
xojackloveee 3 years ago
Oh your so lucky to start to be showing! I would be doing green hunter w/ my own horse and 2'9''-3' w/ another horse! But Jack(my horse) may have lyme disease. We are waiting for the results to come back. If it is then we will be showing very soon after he gets better.Jack loves to jump and it would be heartbreaking to know that maybe if it is something else then he may not be able to jump for the rest of his life =/
xojackloveee 3 years ago
Your first show?? Hard to believe! Fantastic! More shows and ribbons to come I'm sure!
MrsSJW 3 years ago
i think u look very good for your first show, and i think u could use some practice over trot jumps, although those are harder than cantering them, in my opinion!
i think you will be a FABULOUS rider when you have more practice, overall GREAT!
ponygirl113 3 years ago
Very good although you don't have to be that far forard on his neck, i'd love to see you do much higher your great for a beginner! :D <333
Equinegurl96 3 years ago
Thanks!!
and yeah, I was so excited and like "omggomgmgmgggitsmyfirstshowwandi'mdoingthisclasatthelastminutea;ldkfj;adkfj;lkdfj!!!" That I really anticipated the jump, and like threw myself on there. especially in the first class. :]
EEWinterFresh 3 years ago
girl you need to move up to a horse and start doing some bigger stuff!Your such a good rider you could do at least 2ft! Except for some minor errors(that we all have)you look so ready to move up a level or two.I think if you can do that well for your first show imagine how good you'll do at more to come.I'd practice cantering your course and posting a little smaller.Think about letting the horse just bounce you up instead of posting high and making it look hard.GREAT JOB!
racehorse93 3 years ago
thank you so so much! :D
yeah, I'm on a horse now, it's just that this would of been his first "outing" so we weren't sure if he'd be okay or not. and it ends up that he was, so I'll be on him from now on.
Yeah.. I swear my post is smaller now :D It's just that Cade was so far behind my leg, and like half a sleep, I had to kick him ever time I come down. but thanks for the advice! and starting my no-stirrup work, so cantering should come soon.
EEWinterFresh 3 years ago
lol i understand what it's like to ride a horse that is behind your leg. But hey you'll have stronger legs! I'd rather ride something that's a bit of a challenge than something made. You'll be a much better rider in the long run if you learn to ride hard or not so easy horses from the start :)
racehorse93 3 years ago
oh yeah! I agree!
It's just that I haven't been riding long, so they didn't want to take any "chances".
I actually would of much preferd to ride Simon (the horse).. he has a gorgeous trot.
But he's also not a school horse, he's owned by someone, so it wasn't really my decision.
ps: i like your myspace!
EEWinterFresh 3 years ago
well you did great. And thank you! msg me on myspace sometime :)
racehorse93 3 years ago
Your a pretty rider, I like your posture too. : )
EquestrianKW 3 years ago
you're 2point was like perfect in your 2nd class btw...
HorseLovinGal101 3 years ago
wow, thank you so much for those comments. :]
that made my day.
what breed of horse is it that you're training?
EEWinterFresh 3 years ago
aw glad to hear it ^^
my horse is an Appendix Paint, he was started late cuz of a growth spurt and then his previous owners trained him to jump incorrectly lol. But he's really learned the proper way now, and so he's doing well. We're gonna go to pebble beach at the end of july (it's a rated show, but we're doing schooling shows in it) and we'll be there for a week. He knows all the other horses going really, so its good experience for him.:)
HorseLovinGal101 3 years ago
oh hey no wait nvm, over the second one your leg slipped back which is probably what caused your upper body to be so close to his neck.
HorseLovinGal101 3 years ago
you have a great 2point, but he's really mostly just stepping over those, so for crossrails that small, try to make a smaller release, and not be so close to his neck. Lol i've watched the beginning part a million times, over the second one it kinda looked like you threw your upper body at his neck, but it may have been the angle or something...
