I have seen them during that tour in West Germany, and I am so glad I did. It was in Hannover and I believe it was like October. They were both great, and I was enjoying it very much. It was actually packed (very full, probably sold out). I guess I kind of knew it was my first and last chance to see them LIVE.
All i have to say is ther any other couple that make you feel that they are singing to you in each and every song they sing....everyone can relate...good god they were special...thanks for the memories and thanks for the music!!!

I remember when I heard Cash/Carter were performing this and I wondered if the young hipster British crowd would understand who they are, and the huge impact they had on music history (after all, our country music ain't exactly well known over there), or if they'd just wonder who these over the hill hick grandparents were. I've seen a lot of live music, but this gig was definitely one of my highlights. It was so emotional and I was interested to learn that Johnny felt emotional about it too. In the wings is the Bishop of Bath and Wells who did a speech beforehand. Johnny dragged him onstage at the end to take a bow!

I agree; she appeared to age well. The truth, according to John Carter Cash's book, is that after years of fighting Johnny's addictions (he was about 2 years clean in this clip), June herself became addicted to narcotics around this time.
The irony is that most people lose weight on drugs...June, who had always been very thin, gained pounds. JCC states that she weighed nearly 200 lbs. at her death.
JCC says that family tried to intervene, but June was in denial to the very end.

June died on May 15, 2003 from complications from heart valve surgery. She was 73 Johnny died September 12, 2003 due to diabetes. He was 71.

I agree; she appeared to age well. The truth, according to John Carter Cash's book, is that after years of fighting Johnny's addictions (he was about 2 years clean in this clip), June herself became addicted to narcotics around this time.
The irony is that most people lose weight on drugs...June, who had always been very thin, gained pounds. JCC states that she weighed nearly 200 lbs. at her death.
JCC says that family tried to intervene, but June was in denial to the very end.
Sad.

mitzi, you should read both Marshall Grant's and John Carter Cash's books. The latter is poorly written (grammer, etc.) but quite informative, and both are a little shocking.

@2pieter360 Yes they are not skin tight like people wear them now. That was back in a time when people focused on talents not looks only. I think you missed the point. I am not concerned with rather she was overweight. I was pointing out how small minded and vain people are now days. Here is two talented people and certain people seem to only be concerned with looks. Who cares if someone is not perfect looking. The people that is worshiped because of their looks by the media and public, 99.9%

@hcurrie7 their looks is all they have going for them. THey have no talent, personality and are selfish attention whores with narcississtic personality disorder. Examples: Megan Fox, Anglina Jolie, ICarly slut, Tila Tequila just to name a few. I would take someone with a little flaw over all these put together.

I dont remember this being an issue when I was a kid and when they were big stars. i was just in awe of their TALENT!! remember when talent was king & it did not matter if u were crack whore thin or "hot" u were a good actor/actress, singer, guitarist, etc.Now no matter how talented u r Hollyweird will harass the hell out of u if u r not their standards. Wonder who is at fault for all ppl's self image problems
