tinny i dont think that that filter (witch i own) filters out viruses. jason class has a video about this where he combines that with iodide tablets. that filter is just activated carbon. If im wrong please tell me because it would be useful to me if thats all i need.
@pineapplenewton1 No, it definitely doesn't filter out viruses. Viruses are really small, and they'll go right through the filter. I don't really think it's *that* important to make sure your water is virus-free, though - most backwoods water sources don't have any viruses that'll cause problems. You really only have to worry about viruses in water sources that may have some fecal contamination e.g. near a town.
Great pictures! My Tuxedo cat looks just like yours. I'm still studying about water filtration/purification. There is a lot to consider. You said that your filter is good at removing Giardia and Cryptospirosis and other biological pathogens but how well does it handle chemical pollutants, i.e. heavy metals/pesticides? I very much enjoy all your videos, thanks for sharing.
saw this one on one of jasons videos . he used on his trip to Mt.Whitney. smart setup and virtualy weightless. and you can filter extra water to plan for future uses.
I use the Sweetwater Guardian. They were bought by MSR & because of that are no longer being made. MSR has it's own filter. My filter may be a bit big compared to yours Tinny but it works well for me. That said, I am interested in your filter. Seems quite nifty. Like the lightweight & adaptable design.

A best water filter has a filter that is smaller than 0.2micron (0.0002mm) of filter. that filters olsow chemicals.

Check out sawyer filter, 500 gallons a day. made to use with 50 gallon bucket, but... I see no reason you could not adapt it to what you are doing.
