People who are seriously interested in tools care. Recognizing a knock-off and comparing it with the original may suggest that the lower price may come at the cost of lower quality or a reduced number of features. It focuses the mind on details that might otherwise be missed.
The various big box stores are large enough and powerful enough that they can get tool manufacturers to produce models specifically for them with the exact features and cost they require. Know the difference.
@scalabration I've looked and operated them both, and i see no lack in quality in either one, so the term "knock -off" doesnt really fit. so those of US "who are seriously interested in tools" can determin for ourselves. If anyhing, I for some reason prefered the ridgid, even as slighty as I did. Thanks for telling me nothing that isn't already known by most 10 year olds in this nation.
From Merriam-Webster - Definition of Knockoff: a copy that sells for less than the original; broadly : a copy or imitation of someone or something popular
