I lover the Carpetners version but I am crazy about Al Wilson version. It is the way he sings this song that just moods me. I remember this song when I was 15 years old in high school.
I heard this song and recorded it when I was 13 or so in 1973 or 74. I loved it but I lost the tape and never heard it again until about age 26. One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. He died not too long ago. Great song, great song!
