very impressive pole climb. i am going to avoid the easy, would b a better video if he fell off the pole, comment. i could never have made it up the pole, let alone got the poster down.
however, stealing that display wasn't very nice. u guys r a little old 4 that.
sadly, cbs, lamar or any other billboard company would let u have old signs. y not just ask to have them when they get taken down. oh yeah, you r the radical interior decorators.
Who knows where those posters would've ended up. He might have saved them from becoming another piece of trash in a landfill. Besides, it's just a couple of posters, no one was hurt.
I don't know if this was staged...if it wasn't...regardless if the show was almost over, or if he was saving them from ending up in a landfill, it wasn't his property. Just because it's out in public doesn't mean it's not stealing. "no one was hurt"...so if I came into your house and stole a couple pieces of jewelery or what have you, would you say the same thing? I think not! They had a value and someone spent the money to make them...not you, not your property. I know it's only youtube though.
The difference between taking that poster and stealing jewelery is that not a single person cared about that poster. Noone was hurt, physically or emotionally.

First of all, it's only youtube. So, these comments don't do much of anything.
Someone did care about that poster. Someone thought up the idea, someone payed to have it made, someone payed to stick it up there on that pole. You can't be the judge and say, "oh, you don't care about that poster"...how do you know what the person that payed for it thinks? Are you a mind reader? You just don't take something that isn't yours. Even children know this.
Be realistic please. There are hundreds of identical posters placed all around the city. No one actually cares about that one poster. How can I be the judge? Its just common sense, if they had stolen anything of real value i wouldn't have said anything.
The question here, originalkemosabe, is not one of property, but of art. You're right, somebody did think of the idea, and somebody did pay to have it made. But that person was a graphic designer--an artist--whose work was plastered all over the city, ready to be taken down and thrown away as soon as it became obsolete. But now it's going to hang indefinitely in the home of someone who appreciates it. If I were the artist, I would be flattered to see this video.
I can do that!

Well, it was fun for a little bit to comment on this video. The last thing I want to say is don't be so apathetic to premeditated crime.

You advocate greener living and at the same time practice vandalism? How is anyone supposed to take you seriously?

He said the show was nearly over, but your point is very valid.

Of course it's about property. There's the right way to make art and the wrong way. The end does not justify the means.

There is a right way and a wrong way to make art, but the only one who knows that is the artist.
