What are the steps to convert the OS 160 to gas? I guess you'd need a Walbro carb and an EI. Do you also have to drill a hole into the crankcase and install a nipple for a pulse line? How much did the conversion cost? ( I own an OS 1.60 and would love to try this myself!)
Nope, original piston,cylinder and conrod.. its been over 2 years. the engine is still going strong on 5% mineral oil (castrol). (20:1 mix)
I just took the engine apart to see the internals and they are still like new.. no visible wear. the cross-hatch marks are still there. total consumption is near 100 liters of gasoline.
The only thing I replaced was the ignition cap. silicon cap gave away 2 months ago.
What model Walbro did you use? Where is your pressure tap coming from (crankcase or intake)? Have you had any oil clog the carb's pump yet? What's your fuel mix? Head temperature?

@ripfree
pump pressure is coming from crankcase. no oil clog. 20:1 mineral oil. (castrol 2T)
head temp is hovering around 150*C for 2 years.

@85485801 What do you mean with pump pressure from crankcase? is that pressure line like normal glow engine?

i like your chicken stick / starter / blade caddy

On a Welbro carb you will never get a decent repeatable idle if you use the throttle to control the setting.
There is an idle setting screw on the carb... use it.
My MVVS 1.6 idles at 1300 rpm very reliably.

actually its even better and faster now as I fully dialed in the needles on the carb.
