In the area under PA control in the West Bank, there's 2.4 million Arabs, and in Gaza, 1.4 million more. So like 5,300,000 total Arabs live now between the Med Sea and the Jordanian river, up 4.1 million from 1949. So by your calculating, does that mean 4.1 Arab immigrants in the past 63 years? I don't deny that many Arabs in this country have roots going back centuries, but others don't. Some Arab families came as recently as the 1920s, there's many too decsended from Bosniaks who the Otoman brought in from the Balkans in the 1800s, from Sudanese Africans, etc. Also, many Jewish familys (like mine) never left and pretty much ALL Jews everywhere trace roots here.

The UN in 1947 voted for 2 states--a Jewish state and an Arab state. Second you imply that just because we lived here among the Arabs, that everything was a paradise and relations was always peaceful. If you think Israel needs the West Bank and (presumably) Gaza so badly, why not give the Palestinians a vote in the Knesset and end the use of military court in those territories? They were living there long before Israel came into existence after all (see Ottoman censuses).

My grandparents and great grandparents became "Palestinian" overnight after the British threw the Turks out of the country in 1917 and they gave all the residents of the country so-called "Palestinian" citizenship in 1925. The Arabs tried to expel all Jews from the country and they did so to Jews in Jerusalem in '48.

As someone fom a family that has constantly live here almost the entire Ottoman era--the Ottoman forest came to rule our country in 1517, my earliest recorded ancestor in the country has been here since 1550--I can tell you that "Palestine" simply was not the word used by locals when speaking their own languages to refer to the country. My grandparents were Ottoman citizens, they only became "Palestinian" Mandate citizens when the British invented that category in 1925.

In the area under PA control in the West Bank, there's 2.4 million Arabs, and in Gaza, 1.4 million more. I don't deny that many Arabs in this country have roots going back centuries, but others don't. Some Arab families came as recently as the 1920s, there's many too decsended from Bosniaks who the Otoman brought in from the Balkans in the 1800s, from Sudanese Africans, etc. Also, many Jewish familys (like mine) never left and pretty much ALL Jews everywhere trace roots here.
