@Goldenrod636 you not the only one. I tried I lead off with pikachu, he sent out charizard: I used thunder but he switched and Tyranitar got hit, paralyzed and half his health taken by thunder. Somehow even though my pikachu was holding a lightball and he was paralyzed he still attacked first and that just screwed me over.
I kinda like Gold/Silver/Crystal Pokemon Stadium 2, because their words change almost everytime.. Unlike Pokemon Stadium all they said is "Enough, come back" (Or whatever how they say it) "Good, Come back." (Or whatever how they said it. In pokemon Stadiym 2 their phrases changes.
I can;t remember exactly what team i used the entire cup, but i did make it to this guys last pokemon with Dodrio, Machamp, and Electrode. The other pokemon i had were Umbreon, Kadabra, and then one last one which i can't remember.
A couple of weeks ago, I beat the Master Ball finals with...ooh, I forget. I know one of the Pokemon I used was a Hitmonlee to a Tyranitaur (which is Rock and Dark, making it doubly weak against a pure Fighting type).
How did you get past the fifth battler? I've tried (and failed; I got close during a lengthy battle involving her Lapras and my Clefable with an Ivysaur that knew Leech Seed, but close doesn't cut it).
Dodrio or Umbreon. Dodrio is fast and it usually attacks first. Tri attack is very strong depending on the pokemon its used against. And Umbreon has Faint attack negating all of the Evasion raising
So u used only these 6 pokemon to defeat the whole master ball? Do you know how much sweat swearing and tears i've used on master ball? You know battler # 5 (aka Molly. trust me i've tried to beat this so many times i remember their names...) well what 3 pokemon did you use to fight her, if you remember?
I always wonder why in games like stadium it looks like Nintendo is TRYING to make the rental pokemon's moves suckish. The only decent fighting move on that machamp that is not spent within five turns is submission. I really don't get it.
Inpatient people, frustrated children + Gamepack = transfer their own pokemons. Transfer their own pokemon = No sucky rentals. No sucky rentals = Happeh People :D
So it is very simple, a little small way for nintendo to her more money. In many cases you would get a gamepack with when you bought the game, but in many cases not. it may be other differents too though...
Before the 4th generation of games (which is Diamond/Pearl/Platinum) the Special and Physical classification are based on the move type, not if it actually is a punch or is a magic move.
ALL Electric Attacks are special in the first three generations of the games (including Pokemon Stadium 2). So Machamp would not do as much damage as say he would do in Diamond when using thunderpunch.
@RedkingDS ... how the hell do you figure? You were never pertinent to the subject, and if you want to interject, that's fine, but it is neither invited nor important.
@mygodnes Thunderpunch was considered special before the fourth generation. It maid contact with the opponent but as far as the game was concerned it was a special attack.
i guess Nintendo tried to push the players to use Pokemon from Gold, Silver, and Crystal rather than rely on Rentals. Basically, i think they were trying to sell more Gold, Silver, and Crystal games along with more transfer paks.

Let's do some math, shall we?
Sucky Rentals = Sucky gameplay/hard
Sucky Gameplay = inpatient people, frustrated children.
Inpatient people, frustrated children + Gamepack = transfer their own pokemons. Transfer their own pokemon = No sucky rentals. No sucky rentals = Happeh People :D

why didnt you use thunderpunch with machamp
diamondplatedmonster 3 years ago
Kingdra's also Dragon-type. Thunderpunch does neutral damage to it, not double. And Machamp's Special Attack stat is beyond help.

but thunderpunc is a physical attack? unless its special in this game... i dont kno.

oh ok. that makes sense. i dont have the earlier versions of the games.

@nfsfanAndrew For the first three generations all electric attack were special attacks. That of course changed with the fourth generation.

damn nice one. It's harder to do rental challenges in this compared to Stadium 1 cause of them sucking even worse here.
