I watched this years ago with my brother when we were little after our mom checked this out at the library. Except I always wondered if they should've made it into a book, but they didn't.
@MovieMan1065 True. But when I heard it, I was thinking of James Franco or Chris Evans, but I'm not exactally sure who the name of the man who voiced him was. Do you?
@lardman101 Well, the only thing that's missing on Pontoffel is the James Dean outfit from "Rebel without a Cause"... which Fry wore. Other than that, it could be a coincidence...
6:58 Personally, there are a few technical flaws with this scene. First, Pontoffel has to find the C key. Secondly, once he's found the C key, he's most likely to miss the D sharp at that point. But it's nothing to scream about...
9:41 Why do I think Ted wanted a goat there instead of a cow? I mean, "Goat's milk is higher than ever..." but not many people have heard of milking goats...
Hard to say. The Oncler's place was originally clean and bright, but got run down afterward. Pontoffel sings about the "house that my parents had left me"; the Oncler's relatives are shown but I don't recall that he had children himself.
Too, he seems to have green fur, and we never see his face, while Pontoffel is fully seen and fully human. Maybe the Pocks moved into Oncler's house to help clean up the mess he made..
Although I never realized what a jack-ass Pock truly is, "Just pull on the pull-em, and push on the push-em, and the pickles go into the jar!" How did he manage to screw that one up?
Another Seuss special I loved as a kid! And imagine, as long as you remember that you pull on the Pullum and push on the Pushum, that pickle job would probably be one of the easiest in the world. XD
@HazyChase20 Well, you can get what I got: "Seuss Celebration." From Universal, this is an excellent collection of classic 1970's Dr. Seuss cartoons that you grew up with: 3 hours worth, actually. See all of my uploads: that's where it came from: this one DVD.
This is my all time favorite Dr. Seuss animated special due to messed up it is xD

Pontoffel's voice reminds me of Silver the Hedgehog for some reason.
Plus, Groogen looks so AMAZING.

That's an unfortunate design flaw. A lever breaks and the plant floods.

Anyone else see the parallels between Pontoffel and Fry from Futurama?
-Orange hair
-Loser
-Idiot
-Finds a fantastic escape to a radically different place
-Meets a girl in this new place that he fawns over

Haha, oh I'm fairly certain it IS a coincidence, it's just a fun observation.

Who's to say Pontoffel's not a relative of Fry? It could be from his mother's side, after all.
