have you ever tried to glue your cakes with 3m Super 77 spray on cement that glue is pretty strong i am not a pyro person due to my state does not allow anything fun in the state but i use this glue for my other hobby's and it takes 3 minutes to dry hard and it takes a lot for you to undo the bond

in america can you set fireworks off on just any day or does it have to be a special occation

In america we have states, and every state is different of fireworks laws. some states you can only have fountains and some states you can have aerial fireworks. it all depends on the state...so technically you can shoot fireoworks anytime but you might get in trouble with the law

Great idea on using glue to secure the cakes, nothing worse than having a cake tip over and fire into the crowd, i know, it happened to me once and it was a class " c" cake called Niagara falls, it was basically a mean 16 shot ( if i remember correctly ) mine type cake, it was poorly made, not enough clay in the bottom for its power! it tipped over after the 3rd shot firing the remaining shots into the grills of cars and into the crowd! ouch! no one got hurt and no vehicles caught fire thank God

Talking on a mobile phone isn't even illegal yet in Pennsylvania :) Some cities here have instituted hands-free only calling laws here, but nothing state wide yet.

You ordered from pyro supply or pyrodirect? There are a few guys selling these wireless firing systems I am curious which one you have. If you go to the BATF web site they have an application process for your permit. I would recommend you get the one for $100 and it is good for three years. The $25 one is yearly but it is a yearly application process. Talk with your local 1.3 fireworks distributor they should work with you.

Do you still have to go through your local municipality and all to set off a display if you have a BATF permit?

Yes you still need local permission to set them off. Even the largest fireworks companies in the United States have to do it. The BATF certificate gives you permission to purchase the bigger fireworks. Prior to Sept 11 all you needed was the local permit, then you would take the local permit to the fireworks distributor and buy what you needed. Unfortunately those days are gone.

The solution is it may be time for you to move into electrical firing. With a small wireless firing system you can have amazing control over your display for a small amount of money. There are many of these systems out there for sale. You should consider one. And now they have a form of electric match that no special license is needed to buy the whole set up.

I'm suprised by the price, that's not half bad for that much fireworks! Down here you get like 1 maybe 2 16-shot cakes for that kind of money! Let alone that quick-match is VERY hard to come by as a consumer.

Once you really get into fireworks so to speak. You sort of network and figure out how to get better prices on items. The best prices are when you buy items by the case. I am contemplating making a future video on how to use a substitute quick match and electric match so the average consumer can enhance their displays. I know quick match can be hard to obtain.The wireless firing systems can be purchased by anyone. I may be working with someone now on how to solve this problem of quick match.

sticky match is also another good alternative to quickmatch also, you can just stick it on the powder core or actually slide the visco in it also.

Being from United States I always wonder how other countries handle fireworks. Can you tell me how Africa sells consumer and display fireworks. I used quickmatch for my finale as well but unfortunatly only half the cakes went off because I made the quickmatch the same day and it wasn't dry enough :(

Luckely my show in general was pretty awesome.

Hey "Z" I have to admire that you are making your own quickmatch.Setting off fireworks does not always go the way we want. I had and continue to have failures.
