  • That medium tunning, is freaking amazing. Every Sonor snare is worth every penny. I have the Danny Carey signature and I love it

  • does anyone know if this is the snare that Meshuggah drummer Thomas Haake use?

  • @PoVerslaWe Yes it is!

    Tony

  • @DrumCenterNH ok thank you. is there anyway you could lower the price on it? beacuse this is the nicest snare ever and there is no way i can afford it :p

  • @PoVerslaWe Unfortunately, Sonor had a price increase. It is a great snare though!

    Tony

  • @DrumCenterNH could you recomend any other snare for metal music and one that is not as expensive

  • @PoVerslaWe I would check out the Mapex Sledgehammer. We have a video up as well.

    Tony

  • @DrumCenterNH thank you very much for the help!

  • god damn no matter how expensive it is, this is definitely the single greatest snare drum to ever be made, ever

  • Those highs are incredible!

  • Das Snare.

  • I wish we could have heard the low tuning with the snares just a bit tighter. They rattled a little too much for my taste.

  • Sonor charges WAY too much for their high end snares. I can seriously get a high end kit for the same price.

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX Well do pay for what you get.... Though they are expensive!

    Tony

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX But sonor is the best. I'd rather sell my kit and buy one of these and just play it than have say, a mapex orion.

  • @axedstoninst Well, I understand to an extent, but IMO, you have to look at it realistically. This one snare drum literally costs more than the entire kit setup that I want, and when I say kit setup, I mean DREAM setup. A Pearl Masters MCX. Beautiful. I understand that this is an A+ snare drum, but it's simply got a price tag that exceeds my liking for a single drum.

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX Well I see your point there man, Either way, when I have the funding, I plan on getting a sonor sq2, which costs about 5 times as much as this snare.

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX check out tama's praetorian, which is virtually identical to this one, and then tell me...

  • @tolisdrums I agree that the Praetorian is ridiculous too. I think that every brand has one of those overpriced drums in their line. If you can afford it, they're great pieces to have, but honestly, I'd take a 14 X 6.5 maple shell in a lacquer finish over something like this any day.

  • the first two tunings sounded great. but that last one sounded like shit, in my opinion.

  • @DrumCenterNH Do you think this snare would have discount ??? =[

  • @TheSaneMe That price was the discounted price. Any new ones that get ordered will be higher.

    Tony

  • @TheSaneMe Fun fact: This Snare costs 1799 US$ = about 1380.55 €. In Germany at the cyberstore of Thomann 1559 € = 2031 US$ ;-) Sonor stuff in US has a favourable price.

  • Best snare ever...

  • whats the price??? thanks

  • too much in high tuning

  • Sonor Artist Snare 14x5 Steel Black pls make a review of it!

  • @kalidoresdan - if we've got one in stock next time videos are done, we will!

  • @DrumCenterNH Thank you!

  • love that

  • That high tuning is kinda gross.

  • This is the nicest sounding snare I have ever heard.

  • this thing is epic, i dont know if i can say worth its price, but epic for sure. i have a pile of broken cymbals in my basement, ive been trying to find someone to melt them down and make them into a bronze snare shell.

  • Love that high tuning!

  • shit! that's a high tuning.

  • Tomas Haake rocks on this!

    Meshuggah! :D

  • I like the lower tuning the most..

  • Sounds great!

  • That thing will eat snare drum stands like its nothing......

  • DAMN.... this baby sings!!!

  • @v7JaMz7v Silly goose, drums don't sing

  • @evilnarc silly guitarist, im not a goose

  • @v7JaMz7v Haha. Nice.

  • SONOR Drums are great, though I have never cared for their snare drums. DW has very nice snare drums, though I don't care for their drums for the rest of the kit. So throw a DW snare on a SONOR kit and you've got a great sounding kit!

  • what does the "Artist" label mean? because as far as i know, no real artist owns or made this drum. By this i mean that it is not like the Danny Carey snare drum, which he help produce. Although i could be mistaken

  • CAASSTT BROONZZEE

  • @bnyce52 LOL i keep playing it over and over... im almost crying right now

  • hey. great vid. can you please seek out the recent Benny Greb signature 13x5.75 beech snare. im thinking of getting one but not sure where to get it. do you guys import to Australia??

  • @carlos0on0drums - We've had a couple Benny Greb's on order since November when they were introduced. Once we get them in the shop we will definitely post video! We are able to ship most stuff to Australia. Just send us an email - info[at]drumcenternh[dot]com

  • Sounds good, but it sells for $2,369.99??? Way too much.

  • Hey Shane! Is that you playing drums in the beginning of every video?

  • @Sabiano Yep - Shane is playing on the intro!

  • superb drum

  • Ohh and the signature 590 is such a nice drum and so loved why dont they keep making it? it could be 3k and id still buy one..

  • @enyakbutler For 3K Ide buy a nice maple kit plus a shit load of any quality cymbal i wanted ...But NO snare on the planet is worth 3K ....and ive heard hundreds in my time

  • higher tuning seemed a bit to high.. I love these drums though. I would love to find an 80's signature 14x8 bronze drum! they go for the same price roughly and are just magic. You can get s fancy as you want with construction and block, stave, this ply that ply, glued this way or that way, these hoops or that but at the end of the day there are 5 or 6 snare drums everyone should own and a bronze on like this is def one of them.

  • you should let it ring out instead of muffling it at the end all the time

  • I bought this drum from Shane. It is my MAIN snare. Just love it.

  • Got my DW 14x6 Cast Bronze for 500 bucks. That high tuning raped my ears lol.

  • hey are those die cast hoops? looks like it

  • @Tracebebo - yep, those are definitely die cast!

  • @DrumCenterNH awesome! thot they were, the drum has a nice crack to it and i figured it had something to do with die cast hoops

  • thats the snare tomas haake of meshuggah owns ?

  • Wow your website needs some work

  • i came

  • medium tuning :]

  • no offense but i think you tuned it too high in the high tuning. j/s

  • @Tracebebo That's why it's called HIGH tuning..

  • @DoPlease i know that. but it just sounds higher than the other videos that show high tuning. j/s

  • @Tracebebo It's probably the same tuning. Keep in mind that every snare drum sounds different. You will never find two snare drums that sound the same, even in the same tuning.

  • High tuning mmmmmh!

  • toooo expensive, sounds like a drum i'd play in some crazy awesome dream though...

  • DUDE WHY DO U MUTE THE HEAD WITH YOUR HAND????

  • OMG! IT'S PUNCHY A DO BE DE DOOO!

  • is this snare good for rock

  • @gislibesti13 This snare is good for every thing. It better be. It's 24 hundred dollars.

  • Crispy like bacon : )

  • but..... the rim shot?????

  • sounds like shit high

  • too dry on lows, too tinny on highs, maybe snare is too thick to properly vibrate?

  • Can't...stop...drooling...! Good call on the Tama bell brass... classic! The Sonor is a Godly snare!

  • how did you get it to sound like a 10 inch drum when its 14 i can't get mine to sound like that

  • What's the main difference between brass and bronze snare?

    thank u

  • higher tunning kills me - awesome snare !!!

  • can anyone explain WHY THE INTRO DRUMS SOUND SO AWESOME????????

  • Hey Shane, I have the Black Panther Phosphor Bronze 5.5x14, but I can't get it to sound anything like this snare whatsoever. I think its my tuning. Any advice? Right now it seems like I am getting that really snarey marching snare type sound that I really don't like.

  • Hey Shane, i am about to get simon`s phillips gladiator snare drum, wich is also a bronze snare, any comments about the way it sounds?? is it something similar to this?? I`ve heard a lot of bronze snare drums but i dont seem to find the parameter, they all sound very different. Thanks, Al.

  • The Simon Phillips snare will sound similar to (but not quite as full bodied as) a Ludwig Black beauty 5.5x14. I think we have some sound samples, you could check out of that one.

Neither sound anything like this Sonor Bronze, because the Sonor is much, much thicker.

  • Ok, i heard the sample and since you seem to be realy into snare drums i `ll ask for your help body. I want to reach the exact same sound you hear onThe wallflowers one hit wonder "one headlight" i was told it was a bronze snare drum but even considering all of the facts that involves the final sound of the drum i think it is a little away from what am looking for, in your opinion, what could it be the closest way to get that especific kind of sound? Thanks a lot.

  • @DrumCenterNH What Kind of sticks are you using? they look really comfortable to hold!

  • the sound depends on the stick weight and if its wood or plactic.....anyway its amazing snare!!!!!!!!!

  • It sounds awesome in medium

  • damn, what a sound!!

too bad it costs 1500,-€ :S

  • king of snare!!

  • its crispy like bacon!!! lmao!!!

great sounding drum. i held a tama bell brass the other day...it was HEAVY!!!

  • that drum makes me horny!

  • You should re-make this video and tighten the wires a bit. This drum in one of the best out there and this clip could sound quite a bit better......I've got the 8x14 Horst Link, so trust me on this one!

  • is there a dude name Shane at every drum shop, gosh lol

  • thinking of boston drum center? ;P

  • it sounds too freaken good

  • I own this snare and it is THE perfect snare sound.

Loud, articulate, and the overtones are the sweetest I've ever heard. And I've owned a few in my time.

  • How much does it cost?

  • not even close to being worth every penny. you can get a nice shell kit for the price of this one mediocre drum.

  • just wow! in my opinion the one who could reach this it's a noble&cooley aluminium shell, but I'm not sure. I want it!!

  • I ship worldwide! They are about $2k.

  • That snare in this video is about 2k?!?! daaannnggg......

  • Shane, how much?

you don't ship items outside of the US right?

  • I don't think this does Sonor justice...

I preferably recommend something more depthy, crunchy, and med pitch ringy

  • this bastards 2400

  • mid tuning ! WOW!

  • damnit!

this is why i love sonor!

  • WOW! That snare sounds amazing on all tuning ranges!

  • Wow shane, that snare is the bogs bollocks man. Gotta have one. How much? $2,000?

  • This is the best sounding snare ive ever heard in my life. I want to hear it in person. I think im tearing up.... lol. its beautiful. How much exactly?

  • very very nice!

  • As good as the recording sounds, it's 100x better in person.

Crazy loud, yet sensitive. Freakishly good.
