  • Who is the one that is missing in the top left corner?

  • @gavmcguinness8024 It is Britain

  • @Stefa2012 Any idea what the artist is suggesting there?

  • @gavmcguinness8024 It´s because of in whole history Britain keeps away from Europe.

  • No Sweden.. :(

  • @12345678909269 it's there! it's the big ikea box at 2:00!

  • @RusNad Ahhhh.. didnt see it first haha

  • @12345678909269 Guess whats inside. Jas-39 Gripen :)

  • @baxa007 best plane ever ! ^^ got some of them in sicily now for fighting that arab dictator dude

  • @12345678909269 Sweden=Ikea box...:D

  • Only two countries I can´t understand their meanings are Czech rep. and Slovakia even I was born in Czechoslovakia :D

  • @Waclaw111 the Czech map is a display but it's turned off in this video

  • I'm sorry, but is there a swastika made of highways on germany or is it just me.... 0:28

  • It tells a lot about the different Member States, but it has nothing to do with the Europe as a whole. The author probably failed to understand that the Council deals with matters concerning Europe as a whole (especially the common European market) rather than the internal affaires of the various States represented.

  • Hmm Denmark with Muhammad, yeah sure it will be remembered for that forever:-(

I have never supported those drawings, and I sure understand why they burned my rag:-DDDDDD

Fuck EU and Jyllands Posten news paper

  • what are the czechs supposed to be ? didn't get it :|

  • I don't get what gay priests have to do with Poland...... what, is it too conservative or what?

  • it's actually funny; it's art, why the debate?

  • is that ireland with the bag pipes?

    at 3:11?

  • Fantastic!Congratulation Mr.Cerny!Zsolt from Hungary.

  • I think this is a great piece of satirical artwork, maybe as great as Candide or Gulliver's Travels. If only they'll makie it less offensive to Bulgarians....

I wonder if they bring out free chocolate in the EU Parliament every time there's a session....

  • Proud to be fro CR :) this was a great joke :)

  • jo jo. český humor jen tak někdo nepobere. už ani čoboláci

  • minarets in holland! OUCH! That hurts!

  • great job by David Cerny, czech artist

  • Denmark = Muhammed cartoon in lego's hehe :]

  • Hehe. Denmark made of lego's... :P

  • Uk is completely missing! <3 that lol

  • POLAND - hahahahahhahaah!

    it's great!

  • You are masters of IRL trolling. well done.

  • So cheerful :)) Never the less, it's a great work of art, guys. Well done !

A big Transilvanian kiss for you all as a reward >:))

  • great peace of work, how can anyone be offend by it ?? this is supposed to ease up the mood

  • Hahaha, this is great, EE still has humour, we are poor and have shit economy (thanks for Soviet Union) but at least we bring some new to the tired old westies ;)

Cheers from Hungary (and Mr Cerny thank you for the fair stereotype, I think we are lucky with that:))

  • He should have included America, with a giant gun on it.

  • @taxibandit13 Or, a giant police badge :]

  • This Sculpture insighted(incited)feelings and made us think, lets call it "ART"

  • Who speaks about Europe? This is ENT- Ropa.

  • @Sparksaty It´s czech pun. The word for Europe is Evropa, so you can see that Entropa makes more sense in czech.

  • UK is right here -> 3:32 See the empty space? The one with the hunter is Finland.

There is a description of Entropa on Wikipedia, you should read it before commenting. Geez.

  • @seecore lol fair enough

  • @HailToTheSkunk How many times Englend have win WC. Just 1, Italy 4 times and they are most succesfull european nation. Btw : GB doesnt play fotball like GB but like England, Scotland and so on.. And Italy looks like leg with ball(Sicily)..

  • Holland got trolled right where it hurts.

  • 0:45 Is that Austria? I don't get the joke.

  • it's the Czech it's cos what ever the e.u said they copy like a mirror

  • @Coffeecrab: At 0:45 it is Czech republic. There was a display on the blue model. The display showed text: "It is OUR president, we elected him for us, so let's show him to the whole world with a pleasure in a soul. He is a shark(= someone who can do a lot of thinks), not only on skis. " Cerny wanted to show, the Czech rep. was under the influence of the president. Now the situation is different.

  • It looks very cheesy...and it's kind of off-hand....

It only represents EU in terms of what this czech artist perceives as humorous...

  • It is true that in Poland, officially the church is against homosexuality, and every second of the priests are gay. When I finally Poland will become a country of tolerance ... ? Such as Germany, England and the Netherlands. We are in the European Uni on, we become the country such as Russia or Ukraine

  • The truth hurts! It looks like a third graders art project and it was made by the czech artist who lied to the EU. He had them believe all member state artists had contributed to the ideas! It is hardly art!

  • this looks a third graders art project

  • In that case, the artist deserves a great prize. Well done artist, all the europhiles cannot take a joke, sad really...

  • @DaNo07HK I completely agree, but with a difference - that i would switch "europhiles" for "eurosceptics" in your sentence, believe me, "our" president Klaus is one of them and he hates this piece of art...

  • French go on strike due to it and stop your stupid babble. It was not the money of the EU, but only the Czech money, which he returned.

  • This is only a joke,no need to take it seriously.

And if someone is to blame is the artist, not the czechs, the generalization mentality, you shown,is barbaric and stupid.

  • Not really. It is original and at least we don´t worry to say our opinion!

  • ViriathusVingathor is RIGHT!!! Stop blaming the Czechs, they aren't all like this.. there's only David Cerny who fucked up... I don't get Slovakia,

  • @catadeluxe Slovakia is packaged because nobody knows what is inside. And is bound by hungary tricolor because Hungarians are still dreaming about Great Hungary which part Slovakia was before WW1. And hungarian politics talk about rights of minorities, but everyone knows that it is about Hungarians living on south of Slovakia. And they want always more and more. And it is problem make progress when you are packed to hungarian tricolor...

  • @ohorok2 damn, same shit in Romania... only in a much larger surface. Transylvania has a few hungarians... and they say OMG, SOO MANY ( not even 10% of the total populaion), TRANSYLVANIA NEEDS TO BE HUNGARIAN.

SEcuiesc region also... they are some dumb people, no neighbourds like then; Poles like them, because hungarians are lying about technology progress and stuf... but mongolians can't do no good, you know

  • I like it.

Art is suppose to be offensive and if it sparks debate the artist have succeeded.

  • LOL when I were in brussels there hanged a black cloth over it

  • absolutly brilliant.... :)

covers all the best and worst stereotypes of all the nations of the EU.

designed to encourage debate and show that we are made of of so many diverse cultures and interests.

would have been nice if they had it turned on, would have been funny to watch the italian football team with thier climatic goal.

without doubt the best value for money that the EU has ever spent(cough wasted).

  • @dbss06e Definitely. And I like how they missed out Britain.. we found this especially funny in the UK. Czechs have a great sense of humour!

  • @dbss06e I think it's a great art, but I just find it a little bit inappropriate on that occasion.

  • But we´re not the ones, who still jump on the trees :)

  • you just proven opposite

in case of Czechs nothing new

  • yes, you are, goddamned europeans.....buncha halfwits, europastan!!!You let the demonic Musselmen come in and take over, dont reproduce, in 20 yrs, another Hitler will show up, stupid "progressive' fucktards

  • hehe, this comment was full of bulshit and i didnt understand it : )

  • it's official - you are absolutely pathetic. This is the thing about Europe - we can discuss and debate, not only offend others, when their opinion differs from the one we have...

  • Personally, I find it a little bit offensive. I do agree that it's a extraordinary piece of art - a piece that provokes, and stirrs strong reactions, but is it what we need from modern art? EU should be about finding common points, not about finding stereotypes, and constantly reminding about the past. And though the work was innovative and interesting (showing our European mess), I don't think it was a good choice for Czech presidency symbol.

  • very classy... shows perfectly your intelligence and mental abilities...

  • super, diese Installation! Präzise auf den Punkt gebracht, vor allem die Mohammed-Lego-Karikatur, der Hitler-hat-die-Autobahn-gebaut-Teil und das Polen-Stück

    einfach ganz grosse Kunst!

  • From BG. David Černý have fuck humor and amerika is the gratest shit in the world. every body i know talks about americans like fat and stupid people. you have no history you fuckers. if you knew bulgarian history and that we were nearly 5 centuries in ottoman(turkish) rule. of course there are fuck turkish people in our land. but the russians camed in the end of 19 century and saved us from turkish people and the will kick your ass in the third world war you fuck nation.

  • nemohu si pomoct, ale jako 5 letej prcek jsem dělal hezčí věci.

  • A měly i nápad?

  • toto je samozřejmě nadsázka.-:)

  • Hahahahahaha, classic parody of Hitler and Stalin, well said, you almost seemed to be honest! Beautiful acting.

  • @markhypnosis Yeah lets ban art... *cough* communism *cough*

  • 1:35 rulez!!!

  • Man I hope I am not the only person here who thought this was hilarious =D

  • Probably they fucking overdid it with fucking Romania, but who gives a fuck anyway.

  • LOOL Romania has the Mouth of draqula in the center .. NICE =)) .

  • The guy who did this should do this for every member nation of the UN.

  • "We EUROPEANS have to pay this insulting piece of nonsense with our TAXES. Thank you very much. "

No, czech gov, and czech mining company paid this. But author gave money back since he didnt meet requirements.

  • "I think it is really pathetic to portray Germany with HITLER symbols!"

Untrue. D.Cerny say he never intended to display swastika, but he found it interesting that some people see it in the art - which by his words just prooves the high level of prejudices. For example me - I never seen swastika in it, until people full of prejudices said it is swastika, which it is not.

  • come on now, every body knows Germans are mean as hell

  • "come on now, every body knows Germans are mean as hell"

    lol, really?

Does the germany torture people? No, ur country does. Did the germans invaded like 50 countries in last 50 years? nope, u did. Come on now, we all know u r bunch of hypocrites.

  • as a matter of fact, we all know they did torture people and they did invade the entire world TWICE. in fact they invented torture especially in WWII. Did you visit German concentration camps? I beleive they wrote the book on concentration camps and torture. the rest of us? are just reading it.

Come on now, just mention someone the world SS, or Gestapo and you' ll see their faces freak out. and as for Hitler, at least in my country is equivalent to... Satan.

  • lol, it all happend like half a century ago and germans are now total opposite of nazis. Unlike americans. You torture now, you invade now.

the word "now" is most important

  • "that they should clean their act and act nicely, or else... "

Or else what? call vietnamese to kick ur asses again, or somalians, they are good in that too.

  • Just flexing your muscles?

Excuse me, but if Abhu Graib was just flexing muscles I don't want to know what a hit looks like.

And by the way: I am German.

I know about my country's past, my ancestor's past for that matter.

If someone mentions the third reich, or the second world war I don't "freak out" it's not as if we deny our fault.

I'd say most Germans, and all germans that have the tiniest bit of common sense, are 100% against fascism, and condemn what happened between 1933 and 1945.

  • your an idiot, the british invented concentration camps in southern Africa, learn your history before shouting facts

  • Dumn ass yank... lets discuss manifest destiny and the anhialation of millions of native americans.. while we're at it lets look at Chile, Panama, El Salvador, Nicaragua, the Philipines, The opium trade and China... and if you think Manifest Destiny has passed lets look at Brzezinski and place his books in the current US admin... Eurasia your next!!!

  • I find it so reidicoulus that people see a swastika in this.

It is, in my opinion, quite clearly the number 18, which is a code for Adolf Hitler...

  • ElbeRiver you completely missed the point...

and if you want out of the EU, move to Switzerland. lol

  • Anyone who thinks any part of this piece is insulting is a moron. It's absolutely brilliant & hilarious. The whole point of it was to shove stereotypes into our faces and get us laughing at each other. If Bulgaria can't deal with the fact that south eastern Europe is seen by the rest of the world as a toilet, then that's their fault. At least the toilets are clean in the art piece! In reality, the squat toilets in S.E. Europe are disgusting haha (I'm from S.E. Europe, so I know).

  • I totally agree

  • Agree !!

  • I personally don't like this kind of 'art'. It's just another crazy project of crazy David. Still, as a temporary exhibit, it's quite an interesting sight for travellers this year.

  • I don't see any of hitlers symbols. It's just a couple of highways.

  • To mrkv4k: I think what ElbeRiver means is that you can trace an 'S' from those crossing hiroads. However, Hiter's symbol is DOUBLE S... and I don't think the artists associated it with SS deliberately, the two are not much alike.

  • Fabulous. :D

  • As a piece of art, I don't like it, but as a means of expression and as critics I really enjoy it, except for the toilet part, that one was either ignorant or pretty malitious, but apart from that one, I think the rest push us to think and remove the prejudices once and for all.

  • Socrealism.

  • not much intereting.

low level art for hamburger generation.

  • looks pretty good to me. nice piece of art.

  • Norway is not in the EU for the moment.

  • Suuperrrrr!!!

Well done! good idea, original, worked out to the smallest details! Witty!

  • EU "right" to freedom of speech :

Criticism of the EU is against the law and "akin to blasphemy" ( case 274/99 European Court of Justice ruling ).

These un-elected "judges" are appointed by the un-elected Commission and it's un-elected "president".

Vote in the European elections for an EU-sceptical party ( while it's still legal ) !

  • EUXTV,

there is a problem with the buttom "Reagovat". After pressing this a new comment is being published instead of simply answer to someones comment.Could you fix it, pls?Thnx.

  • hahahaha I wonder how would Serbia,Montenegro,Croatia,Bosnia,Macedonia,Norway,Iceland, look like LOL ????

  • hahahaha good job Czechs!

  • I think that it is very funny :D

  • I totally agree, I just dislike the toilet linkage, but everything else is okay in my eyes

  • I could not see a toilet. Is it in this clip?

  • Its a turkish styled toilet, the turks dont sit down...they do that kind of "biz" while standing...its at 2:53 in the video...You can see the footsteps...

as I said the stereotypes are very well choosen in order to provocate...I dont like the lying of the artists about the origins of the ideas..thats not good behaviour...but anyhow I had a good laugh except of the toilet stuff

  • and of course the satire is very capitalized here in that artwork...The czechs love people like this... and I like the artwork because it looks at Europe in a very open way. Anyhow as I stated earlier, satire is good, but I really dont like the toilet picture everything else is kind of funny cause it looks somehow backstage ;o)

  • as on the other video:

First of all I had a good laugh as I saw the artwork. At a closer look, at some countries, I was a bit concerned about the intention. Czechs love controverse people, but not in terms of offending or insulting, they love people who dont stay in line and follow strict orders and rites. And concerning the german part of the artwork: it shows a deformed symbol which stood for terror, fashism and raccism, genocide, that symbol is deformed, defect and builded now with streets

  • streets which do connect the people the countries and the nations. So some could evensee it as a kind of a compliment. Out of the fallen, crashed, deformed symbol of horror now comes the symbol for traffic, together, linkage between all folks. I certainly dont know the real intention of the artist, but looking to the other projects David Černý does its no surprise at all. Anyhow I do not feel insulted by this artwork. Anyhow I dont like the toilet linkage to any country in the world

  • You should not take it so seriously. This art is made to provoke people. And to show most "famous things" of different countries.

  • hahahaha Bulgaria is the biggest toilet in Europe!

  • i can say just the same for you as well. dont need ur comment as long as u cant write meaningful comments.

  • well i think THIS is the bad attitude.

its not a shame or something, its just an association what bulgaria got. there is nothin wrong in it.

what about hungary? melon, however we have nothing in common with melon, but okay, just an idea, and funny, and thats it.

    you should change ur behaviour.

    thanx

  • Já lituju Vás:-D Ani jste toho nemusel napsat tolik, aby se všichni přesvědčili o Vašem IQ :-)

  • And? Is it important if he is Jew or not?

  • Though polls have shown in both Europe AND Turkey ( population 72 million ) that a majority are against Turkey joining the EU....public opinion is being ignored ( as usual ) by Brussels.

The Lisbon Treaty insists that all states should expand their "military capabilities" ( page 39 ), and Turkey's membership will make the planned EU military machine LARGER than that of the U.S.A.!

What for and with whose money ?

    Our money !

Vote in June's European elections for democracy and peace.

  • I don't know, why so many Europeans take this so serious - it's about modern problems, althrough Bulgaria could have been visualited differently..

  • what country is that at 0:44?

  • Some insignificant country whose stereotypes seem not to communicate well outside of its borders.

  • It's Czech Republic - it shows some controversial messages from the Czech president

  • Artistically and ironically excellent... Is one of the most interesting critics about the EU... I think it would help us to demolish the barriers created by stereotypes, as the autor pretended...

I love this work and I'd like it would help us to grow up as Europeans :)

  • JE TO SUPER. Černý to vystihl. Miluji Český smysl pro humor.

  • Whole EU is giant toilet with the hole in Brussels..

  • 2Orion602:

    that expalins great money consuption..

  • This Owns.

    Czechs Own.

I am proud to be Czech.

  • Can somebody start to speak about human rights in EU. Why EU dont respect human rigts of Macedonians who living in Greece and Bulgaria. Why Macedonians in EU in documents must have other names from his names. From example from Aleksandar Ivanovski in documents must be Aleksandros Gianakis. For Macedonians who living in EU is prohibet to speak in his mather language. Is prohibet to learn to macedonian in schools. INcredible how this happends in 21th century. SHAME FOR YOU EU!

  • Inekcija --u are right---Greece, a member of EU is a jingoist country

----Greece has a Martial Law against Albania from 1949 ...to these days

Greece still has this MARTIAL law against Albania---and they don't want to cancel this law-----This is SCANDAL--

A Member of EU ---has a Martial Law against its neighbour------What does that mean????

    - Greece has a JIngoist foreign Policy toward--- Albania & Macedonia------In Greece there are 2 Million Albanians and they can't use their Names

  • Macedonia is not a country, Macedonia is a part of Greece. The country who wants to have the name "Macedonia" has the official name of FYROM. Macedonia from the ancient times was occupied by greek people ( people with greek education and culture).

Why people there in FYROM try to create history from the history of other nations. Look what your origins are, search YOUR history and do not create one

  • I checked the history and it seems Fyrom has right to use the name Macedonia. Aegean Macedonia (Greek Macedonia) Pirin Macedonia ( Bulgarian Macedonia) Vardar Macedonia (the Republic of Macedonia = today's fyrom)

Seems to me FYROM has full right to use tha name Republic of Macedonia, while greece have rights on greek macedonia. Why does it matter anyway? Greeks wanna start calling own country Macedonia? I like "Greece" more though.

  • Very nice work of art.

  • Protest ? European Charter of Fundamental Rights. Article 2 states: 1. Everyone has the right to life. The paragraphs of interest are the footnotes: (a) Article 2(2) of the ECHR: Deprivation of life shall not be regarded as inflicted in contravention of this Article when it results from the use of force (a) In defence.. (b) Lawful arrest. (c) in action lawfully taken for the purpose of quelling a riot or insurrection. Can live ammunition be used against a peaceful "insurrection" ?
  • Slovakia is shown as one big Hungarian salami:))))

  • We can see that. Ministers of Slovakia protested and David Čarný apologized. They don't ask for deleting their carricature, like Bulgarians did.

  • I hope they won´t get Cerny to bow down and say he was wrong, but they probably did already. Czechs make nuisance, rebel, are unserious about the so called serious matters, but finaly we never stand for ourselves and for what we do. Generaly speaking.

  • Your candor made me laugh. Good on you.

  • brilliant!

  • That was awsome! The biggest gift for everyone is the capability of laughing on ourselfs. And yes I love hungarian salami:)))

  • absolutely, people are too serious these days, making life barren.

  • Hahahahah, I've just saw JenicekUK commentary: "turkish toilet (SHAIT HOLE) is actualy much more higiyenic, than our modern world toilets." How is that? How can a "SHAIT HOLE" be better than a toilet? :))) hahah

  • Coz you dont contact with the toilet seat...

  • No matter what they say, the whole installation is cool and interesting. The description that was one their web-site is very funny too. "As a result of the global and local political, economic and cultural situation, the GRAA group has gone on strike indefinitely." it's a description of the French part :)

  • He did a pretty good job with Entropa. Shame that so many Europeans completely lack any sense of humour! Ok, that Bulgarian part was a bit over the top, but still...

  • This is just a joke, nothing else :) And actually, I like it. Mostly it's making fun of our Czech Republic :) Because the author perfectly cheated contract, government and bureaux. And did that with honor :D
