I've been a fan of this band from the start and at first I was like, "Hmm..this is different". But I listened to the CD...(Speaking of Load...because both are basically the same). The haunting melodies were stuck in my head...and had to hear it again. I really like both of these albums. There's melodies here you won't hear anywhere else. One of the things that affected Load and Re-Load is the musical era/landscape they were released. Released today...and the opinions would be different I think.

Black is definitely great album but not as good as the others i mentioned.Load is a pretty damn good album too.Re-load has good songs but is worse than Load and in my opinion is the second worst album after St.Anger.(St.Anger has its moments but lacks in many things).

I love the fact that St Anger didnt have any solos. the songs were long but i never found myself skipping a song. I love Death Magnetic, a furious return to their roots. St. Anger would be good if the songs were not so long. That formula worked for their earlier, thrash metal music, but not for St. Anger. Cut the songs in half, and I would love that album.
