China seeks honest trade relations. Not dominance but mutual respect is what they have fought for for generations. They will not force a country to trade with them through the barrel of a gun. They will not drug an entire nation so their pharmaceutical corporations can profit from selling anti-opiates. This is not to say that China and its people are perfect. This is simply to recognize the virtues that fueled their progress. If China can correct the mistakes of the West, I'd give them a chance.

@karter139 I've already seen this video. It happened in Iraq, not Afghanistan. They thought they were Arab insurgents, not Taliban. The Apache crew mistook camera equipment for weapons. From a long distance, they can look very much alike. It's a tragic mistake, but it happens in war and it has happened to every army that has ever fought a war.
Also, if you go to Wikileaks and watch the whole video, you'll see that the Americans gave the wounded Iraqis life-saving medical treatment.

Having looked it up, turns out they discovered oil in northern Afghanistan (where the Germans are) in August of this year. We've been there since 2001. Our presence has nothing to do with the oil.
