  • the last one is sped up

  • Apparently a contestant on Wheel of Fortune on tonight's show is named Lorimar, and is coincidentally taped at the same studio backlot where Lorimar once was.

  • @heartofmusic27. I agree. The dark Lorimar after Dallas, and Falcon Crest was very scary! You should see the Russian logo for BND. Vid head, ewwww! Creepy!

  • The red Lorimar scared the crap out of me when I was little. Anybody else feel the same?

  • @mainpaiges I don't think so. I think the logo with the Marble Background is scarier, in my opinion. The red one seems nice with the simple animation and the musical scale.

  • @mainpaiges Yes i do when i was a child!

  • I think there's another variant of the Lorimar-Telepictures logo that's like the first one, but has a higher "chime" note at the end. I saw it on YT a few years ago, I don't remember where.

  • Hey, there's a pornstar who goes by that same name. Lori Marr

  • I wish the electric piano would return in today's music scene; the computerized stuff on the radio is what REALLY scares me today!

  • @2000rubs uhh...yes,rubs,yes

  • I was born the year the snaking logo began.

  • how were the logos from 0:24 to 0:45 made? It doesn't look like computer animation. It looks like hand drawn animation, anybody know?

  • The ones from 0:24 to 0:45 are the ones I remember best. One of those came on after the end credits of Thundercats.

  • There is one missing from 1986 though, as the third variation (with the 'merger explosion') had more music after the third ping - that is evident on the 1986-87 season of "Dallas."

  • @DENo1MatchGameFan thats a great logo, the music dies out fully :)

  • 0:55 wrap speed!!!!!!!!

  • The First logos actually have a nice scale being played.

  • There is one Lorimar logo that seems to have been forgotten. In early episodes of The Waltons, it was a silent, non-animated logo. I barely remeber it, but I vaguely recall it being a large letter "L". It disappeared in short order, even in repeats.

  • I remember The Hogan Family used the 1988 Lorimar Logo on ABC Family

  • 1992, not 1988. 1992 used the TWE byline.

  • @ShaDeed329 really than CLG Wiki lied they said the 1988 Logo plastered the Lorimar-Telepictures

  • You got your information mixed up. It wasn't 1988 because they didn't use a company byline yet! The logo DID come out in 1988 but on ABC Family reruns of "The Hogan Family" used the 1992 version of the logo with the TWE byline.

  • I remember watching some reruns of The Hogan Family from S1-S3, during the Valerie/Valerie's Family-era eps., I would hear the Lorimar Telepictures logo in an F-flat variation. Also on one episode in a local syndie rerun, the L-T logo was plastered over w/ the 1990 WBTV Distribution Shield w/ the F-Flat variation of the L-T music playing over it.

  • In the Preston neighborhood of Plano north of Dallas does have a Lorimar drive that runs around a little north of a mile.

  • @pannoni1 Wonder if it's named in honor of Lorimar?

Or could it be just a coincidence, seeing as in other uses, the name is an alternative form of 'Lorimer'.

Would be kinda disappointing if it was the latter.

  • @IHateLadyGaga1991

The "Lori" part is taken from Merv Adelson's wife, and the "Mar" part being the last initials of the company's three founders (Irwin Molasky, Adelson and Lee Rich).

  • @ClassicTVMan1981X I already knew that, and that's why I said "other uses".

However, Lee Rich himself has said that the "Mar" part comes from Palomar Airport in San Diego...

  • So anybody have Telepictures logo history?

  • Seeing this reminds me of the good old days- watching "Dallas" every Friday night!

  • I liked the logo from 0:23-0:30 the best.

  • 0:19 sounds a bit eerie.

  • 0:04 was so scary

  • I was also born at the time of the marble background. 1991

  • @Mr1991kid The marble background debuted in the fall of 1988.

  • @Mr1991kid

and you are born the same year than sonic the hedgehog:1991

  • I like the overall look and accompanying melody of the second logo. Personally, I think it was the strongest.

  • 0:01 and 0:20 are in the same pitch but sound a bit different.

  • yes that variant is supposed to have a loud note at the end

  • Was this folded into Warner Bros. Television in 1993?

  • yes but Telepictures is still a production company

  • Yep, and the "A Time Warner Entertainment Company" warns of a future merger. Missing was the Line Of Doom variant without the registered trademark.

  • @jinglebell61 I think so!

  • I was born in 1978, when the logo at either 0:05 or 0:09 was instituted. Either way, I always thought the piano melody was nice, and it's a shame Lorimar has gone the way of the dinosaur. They left a legacy that none of us will soon forget.

  • ya!

  • no scare factor! well, for me! and hell yea, thundercats was the shit!

  • I survived all of these logos unscared too. I'm only 16 :)

  • I was born during the Marble background with Time Warner byline (1990-1993)'s run.

  • These are wonderful! Lorimar stands strong since 1971.

  • S**t!!! This video is making me wacky! These logos are f***ing scary!!!! O-M-G! But it's a very good video! :)

  • 0:35 You can definitely see this one at the end of the Thundercats, one of the best cartoons of the 80's.

  • There was another variant of the Lorimar-Telepictures logo that featured another logo in front of it. I think it was Rankan-Baas. Do you have that one?

  • Thank You for not adding the LORIMAR with voiceover since its fake

  • You forgot the Lorimar Telepictures wit h the 1979 fanfare seen on some Perfect Strangers

  • I'm brave of this logo

  • One of the signature orchestrated keyboard instrumental introductory theme was in my dream after the electricity was restored from the thunderstorm.... The most iconic, haunting theme I used to remember was the chime theme coming from a white backdrop with a black logo immaculately scripted across the screen after the ending credit of Dallas was completed. The chime theme was exactly the same of that with the white script of Lorimar trademark logo against the red backdrop.

  • Johnny, Your videos Interesting : )

  • You forgot Time Trax and Freddy's Nightmares

  • I agree.

  • Whoa, this is fresh off the charts -- great video. Always wanted to do one like this.
