  • likeNp,i's version (for FROM...er.. where je as the Nazi spy

  • lol just a few subtle innuendos

  • Wow, what an amazingly hilarious interpretation.

  • Im confused right now... he was realy gay ? Or bisexual ? Why do so many people know that he was realy gay ? And not bi ?

I dont care, cause I love him as a human being but I think its an interesting point. :D

  • @Fruchtzwerg3006 He was as camp as a row of tents, but still an awesome singer and i wished i could have known him.

  • @Fruchtzwerg3006

Watch the documentary made about him

  • @acouragefann Do you mean "The nomi song" ?

  • @Fruchtzwerg3006

    exactly

  • ADORO A ESTE HOMBRE ES FABULOSO :')

  • Does anyone know the bass tab for this? I'm new to bass and I want to learn this crunchy tab but I can't figure it out/find it online

  • Falling In Love Again was Klaus Nomi's "Empire Strikes Back"

  • Those were great days... I was lucky to be in NYC in the '80s, when art and music were daring! We'll never see that sort of daring here again...

  • Did anyone notice the backing dancers in this video are SHOCK? [with Tim Dry from TIK&TOK]....wow i didn't know they did this....discovery!

  • Did anyone notice the backing dancers in this video are SHOCK? [with Time Dry from TIK&TOK]....wow i didn't know they did this....discovery!

  • I LOVE KLAUS NOMI...HE IS AN INSPIRATION FOR ME

  • Two comments:

    1) This version of the song is not the LP version. An earlier recording?

    2) People complaining about the women... are you SURE they're women? ;D

  • I LOVE this song!

  • Dear Klaus, I love that you were a sweet gay boy. I'm sorry you had to have these stupid floozies in your video then.

  • Bleh, I like this song, but you don't see much of Klaus in this video. At least not much compared to the strange women in leotards licking things. I truly wish the man was still here, still singing, and showing the world what real music sounds like.

  • can't help it.

  • Chizzad: he is not trying to be straight! Those models are his fag hags!

  • Wow. Lisa Edelstein looks so different now.

  • What's with the soft porn actresses? LOL

  • Way ahead of his time, this would have been accepted with no problem today.

  • @chloboshoka

not sure that today's audiences would get all the cultural references, which add the juiciest layer to seeing this version. Sort of like when people don't understand how original Rocky Horror, Road Warrior, or Blade Runner are because so many later films built from them that they seem old-hat now.

  • 32 justin bieber fans missed the like button

  • Its too bad he was a pole-smoker, he could have had a good chance to tear that chick apart like at 2:46

  • @markx64 haha stupid fucker that "chick" is a dude......."pole-smoker" really?.....fucking sad

  • Comment removed

  • How come I get the impression he had noting to do with the women cut into the video? The bad old days when the "gay' stigma ended careers....

  • See you kids at the docks for wild gay sex *wink-wink*

  • delicious!

  • Does anyone know if the brunette featured in most of this video is ("Sensational") Sherri Martel? It really, really looks like her.

  • awesome beat!

  • great style

  • He came from space to save the human race!

  • Marelene Dietrich would have heard this and had a wtf moment.

  • hes was gay?

  • @baclammert of course!, and also he was from another planet

  • @baclammert - No.

  • I actually enjoy his music and i'm straight....I can tell he was very artistic in his music and he really put his heart and soul in Simple man. Unlike today's crap stars. And RAPPERS.

  • ooooooh, so gliiterrry =)

  • Profoundly sexual and weird.

  • @ieatorbs Awesome! ^_^!!!

  • that bitch Lady Gaga wears that exact same purple and blue body suit. christ is there anything she hasnt lifted from someone else? I would trade her to grim death gladly to have Klaus back today.

  • @xxzerawriotxx in all fairness, gaga has said more than once that nomi is one of her biggest influences.

  • @xxzerawriotxx I wouldn't trade her. But it's messed up that GaGa (who I am a fan of...) borrowed his style and becomes a super-megastar, when he couldn't get a record deal outside of France and New York City. :/

  • I always keep coming back to this video, it's fucking fantastic!

  • @WoodRatGirl me too! I just did today. I was just sitting down ignoring the tv and the words came into my head, "---CAN'T HEEELP IT!!" and I was like what??? WHAT is THIS???!!! and, ah, sure enough it was Nomi!!!! ahhh...... can't help it!

  • DR DEATH DEFYING SENT ME HERE :')

  • Who's the model?

  • @Ilcristian

You'll probably have to e-mail Joey Arias to find that one out :)

  • Is he faking being straight, or is he singing a classic associated with one of the leading ladies of yesteryear, Marlene Dietrich, which seems to be a common and popular gay pasttime? All I know is that this version seems pretty lackluster compared to the album version. He does seem kinda sad. Is that because of the AIDS, pretending to be straight, or both?

  • @DaiReborn He probably just really liked the song, as I do, aand Marlene Dietrich, she's pretty awesome too! ^_^!!! ... I haven't heard the album version yet. I thought this one was superb tho! =))))))))

  • Sometimes I think Nomi sent Gaga to us as a cosmic joke, as if to say "You didn't appreciate the real deal when it was here, so now you have the third rate version as punishment."

  • @Messylin BEST COMMENT EVER! LMAO!

  • @Messylin HAHA! I love it! ditto. =)

  • @Messylin HAHAHAHA!

  • I like this version of the song much better than the album version! :D

  • this video compared to lightning strikes or nomi song is like a rembrandt compared to my aunties picture

  • if nomi is gay then he must sing about gay sex? i dont think this is even about sex or love at all. this is... art hehe

  • I MUST find out who she is!! >_<

  • One of the most overtly sexual videos of all time - wtf 3:46?!?!!

  • @mg196 have you seen any of the videos of the past 10 years? are you kidding? lol

  • @chizzad2001--I don't think this video is about pretending to be straight. I think it's about frustrated women who fall for gay guys--believe me, it happens a lot.

  • the adicts version is the best. this just sounds weird

  • what?!? klaus is gay?!? oh no!

  • Lady GaGa stole the costumes off of Klaus and the people in the video

  • this is the creepiest fuckin song ever

  • The women are men.......

  • @pipy05 how do you know?

  • Hey! It's Joey Z, all in red again!

  • ode to der Blaue Engel, marlene Dietrich, Vom Kopf biss fuss auf liebe eingesteld....

  • I absolutly love Klaus Nomi. But this video sounds kinda strange and kinda... perverse, isn't it ? First, it's surprising to see all the doing of the women when we know that Klaus was gay : is it just ironic ? Do you think Klaus wanted to put sexual images in this video only by perversion ? I hope not, I hope someone will answer but anyway, I still adoring Klaus Nomi. (Sorry for my bad english, I'm french)

  • I sure am glad there's no sexual imagery in this video!

  • There really is no clear love interest in this video. He seems detached from the women. So I don't think he was pretending to be straight. But the Jagermeister ad. Now that's an entirely different can of worms!

  • Comment removed

  • A very personal and beautiful version, thanks!

  • These women look so fake

  • Very interesting. I would like to see the translation of the German lyrics.

Now I see where Lady Gaga stole a ton of her moves, persona, and ideas for videos!

  • Klaus Nomi was the original G. None of this Christina Aguilara, Lady Gaga, or Rihanna bullshit. Nomi was the ORIGINAL diva!

  • and lady gaga thinks she is a unique artist? pfft yeah right its all about the nomi!!

  • Recontraqueshuuusha D:

  • I like how Klaus kind of looks freaked out about what's happening in the video it's kind of Ironic. since some people are freaked out when they see him lol

  • I just found out about this guy last night and I have probally watched this video 20 times since then cause it's an interesting video but awesome song

  • And this is why i love the 80's so much

  • he could be the dad of lady gaga :D haha

  • @Kek5kopF Thats awesome! and so true!

  • you can say what you want. this shit grooves hard.

  • Thank You for posting this!! I Love Love Love it!! Nomi was a true Genius and I will ALWAYS Love him!!

  • 45 seconds - WOW.

  • WTF at 3:48??

Oh, 4:11 it's ice cream, duh!

    Klaus Nomi is awesome.

  • The purple woman is so beautiful.

I love this song and vid.

    =]

  • marvellous

  • eccentric homo singing and hot asian chick cant loose

  • Did Tim Burton make this video?

  • It's terrible he had to pretend to be straight in his videos or anywhere. It would have been so much better if he could have just had guys in this video and be honest.

  • @chizzad2001

    Sexual repression was stronger then

a shame really, everyone should be available to express themselves with freedom

  • @livingdeadpunk138 well, he was part of the avant garde scene which means you can get away with alot more than if you were aiming to be a mainstream hit.

  • @chizzad2001

I think it's the greatest form of parody when an extremely camp openly gay man sings such heteronormative songs.

  • @Distortion0

I completely agree. He made this for a general audience, not just gay men. Also, the song is clearly an old-fashioned one and it would have ruined it for him to have a male love interest in the video.

  • @chizzad2001

this song is a re-make. i imagine the video was made to reflect the song's original intention.

  • @chizzad2001 That makes the video more perverse, as someone says in another comment... He might did it on purpose.

  • @chizzad2001 i dont think he pretends to be hetero, videos are only art

  • @chizzad2001

It's not about pretending to be straight. He obviously didn't want to distance himself from a straight audience. How much more do you think he need to beat it over people's heads that he was gay? The notion he needed to be "more gay" is as goofy as saying Spock needed pointier ears and was "playing round." It's not like Nomi was making out with the lead woman.

Nomi set out to make a naughty video with sexy imagery that everyone should find arousing.

  • @TheJediCharles ditto. =)

  • @chizzad2001 I don't think he pretended.

  • @chizzad2001 I Think you are the one who would have prefered to see guys in their videos........jajajaja pffffff, im straight and i dont have problem seeing girls in klaus nomi videos xD

  • anyone know where to find this version--it's different from the "simple man" album version!

  • Is anyone else hearing the striking similarity of this song to David Bowie's "Fashion"?

  • Surprisingly funky.

  • he speaks german and english ? someone can write what he sings.....? what does it mean...?!

    thanks a lot :-)

  • You can look the lyrics up in google... It's easy...:P

  • @alexender30 He says the same thing in both languages - that he's made for love, that everyone is attracted to him, and that he can't help it if they burn themselves from playing with him, he was made that way.

  • the dark haired woman reminds me of sensational sherri from wwe(f)

  • does this remind anybody else about David Bowie's fashion?

  • Love the video, but prefer the version on Simple Man. I loved how he sang the original slow intro on this one though. Either way it's Klaus and it's fantastic!

  • Love this song from the second I heard it! And I am dearly in love with the beautiful charismatic dark haired woman!

  • Ich muss es mir immer qieder ansehen und hoeren! Es ist einfach grossartig!

  • I haven't seen or heard this before, it's great!

  • Klaus Nomi is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great Music, great video!

  • I'm know I'm not to blame... - - - - of course not, mi amor Nomi: you are truly an angel.

  • Here's to super-fab homos who think they are space-aliens, and bless us with swanky grooves to wax the dance floor to!

  • Wow, I LOVE this! This is a great example of something that lives in the limbo between the 'ridiculous' and the 'sublime'!

Hey Cookietoad21, the 80's WERE AWESOME!

I was there! This was still a time when people had creativity and fun... although this was a 'recycled' song, they made it sooo original.

    LOVES IT!

  • Not if you were there.

  • The 80's were awesome.

  • So utterly true. I loved the image of the 80's, and visionary Nomi was obviously on the bleeding edge of it's formation and direction.

I can't believe I didn't discover him until just a couple weeks ago, but it is interesting that being such a late arriver has given me a great vantage point to clearly see that he was far more than "part" of the 80's. He was a determining force.

  • HarlotBug3 and rhythmandblues87, i was trying to give you a thumbs up, and accidentally hit the thumbs down, lol. sorry. i agree with both of you.

  • don't worry i've gave them thumbs up in your place;)

  • lol, thank you :)

  • I saw a reference to Joey Arias as being on this vid. IF Arias was there then it was early, not late. Joey, Stephanie (Kay) and others actually left Klaus before he died. They created a band called "NO Nomi". Of course they had no idea that he was headed for death.

  • It's like catching a glimpse of an entire civilization lost to history.

  • Unfortunately, that's what AIDS did to the burgeoning New Wave scene in the early 80's. Ended a glorious party that should have blossomed into much more. I am too young to know a world without that goddamn disease...videos like this are time machines for me.

  • I find this excellent.

  • Buen video.

    Klaus siempre fue muy unico

  • fukn mean

  • Good God! What is it?

  • Am I on drugs?

    I think I am.

  • who knows, but they most certainly are :)

  • FAB!!!:)

  • Does anyone have this version on mp3? The version on his album Simple Man is different and it's shorter...someone please help!!

  • I'm having the same issue. I once obtained a mp3 of the video version through a Klaus Nomi fan site, but now I can't find the site anymore. :/

  • the most sexualized music video i have ever seen

  • Yeah, that's the 80's for ya I guess..! There is so much innuendo, it's almost sickening, but great song of course, and Klaus just brings it all together..

  • jesus - its been YEARS since I saw this......

  • Could do without the flirtatious models, but the music is great. Love the guitar.

  • love the innuendo

  • gran genio de genios!!!!! viva por siempre KLAUS NOMI!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yummy....laser

  • Super

  • Can't Klaus Nomi get a fuckin' break? The man was a genius. He created beautiful music and he was and is still very misunderstood. It makes me happy to know that at least I'm not a sheep and that I can actually appreciate this.

  • AAAAAAAAARRRGH I love it!!!

Really puts me in mind of Steve Strange and all those other blitz kids. Boy George, Madonna.

If I were born 20 years before my birth!

  • I love the part from 2:00 to about 2:13 or so when he looks around with this look that says 'what is this going on all around me?' he looks separate, 'apart' from it somehow, yet still in it. But I love that part when he speaks German! Sounds so alien.. it's great.. anybody else famous in this video? The woman with the dark hair looks familiar..

  • Joey Arias and Janus are definitely in this video, it seems that Boy Adrian was also in it, the guy dancing in silhouette seems like him, but it could as well have been Joey.

  • It's such a shame he died, he had alot of music difference to add

  • is this a klaus nomi original? cause the first time i heard this song, it was the Adicts performing it.

  • Composed by Frederick Hollander as "Ich bin von Kopf bis Fuß auf Liebe eingestellt." The song was introduced, and popularized, by Marlene Dietrich in the film Der Blaue Engel.

  • woodratgirl.........he wasn't a true artist ....there're no true artists......there're artist or not.......Klaus was an artist and above all a genius..........

  • I wish Klaus Nomi was still alive, he'd really shake up the music scene these days.

    A true artiste.

  • Hi.. plz any who write the intro of the song (00:01~00:40)

    Thanks a lot!

    =)

  • You can find the marlene dietrich original with tabs and lyrics on the net...

  • I can't find only find the sing part no the intro... but thx =)

    Any plz ... ;D

  • Piano intro- I often stop and wonder why i appeal to them,so many times i blunder in love and out again they offer me devotion i like it i confess, when i reflect emotion there's no need to guess.... fallin in love again

  • Thanks a lot bro.

  • Who is Joey Aries?

  • Arias. He's the slender fellow dancing. I forget the girl's name.

  • the girls name is janus
