I think he got it registered as a 1929 Mercedes SSK. He lives in a really small town, where the DMV office is only open 1 day a week & the employee didn't know alot about cars, so she took his word for it. I'll ask my Dad for the info though, I could be totally wrong. It sounds like you have a little experience at trying to get a homebuilt registered.
Oh thank you so much! He'll get such a kick out of hearing your comment. His next project he's thinking about designing/building a step-through scooter. He's 76 yrs old and wants to keep busy and keep his mind fresh. (Right now it's still winter and snowing often, so he's waiting till it warms up a bit in his area.

Apparently he didn't have trouble getting it registered. Is is registered as "Homebuilt" or did they use his name as the manufacturer?
