As far as my knowledge goes, this song is from a movie "Mohityachi Majula" with music by none other than Lata Mangeshkar under the name of Anandghan. Also, the composition is in Raga Hansdhwani.

Those were the days, Marathi people had tremendous self pride. I am a Marathi speaking person with great pride in my mother tongue and write poems myself.

The name Phadnavis, or Phadnis is a common family name in Maharshatra. I am not ware how many have been named Nana. Also Nana was More of a strategist than a warrior, and further was not a Maratha, who were the most common warriors.

I stayed in Maharashtra for Thirty Years . But I never came across a Single Maharashtrian named after The Great Marathi Warrier Nana Phadvanis . i know a Telugu Christian in Andhra Pradesh who has named his son as Nana Phadvanis . He may be in his Forties . I do not know where he is right now .

I am not Maharashtrian, but was fortunate enough to live in the land that gave Shivaji, Tilak amongst scores of other patriots. Best part was that I learnt Marathi and was introduced to its rich literature. This song is so awe inspiring, the lyrics really paints an accurate depiction of how a warrior feels.

I love Maharashtra and Marathi . This land gave me Bread and Butter for thirty years . I can speak Marathi reasonably well and reading Marathi was never a problem . The two things I hate about MUMBAI is that commuting in local trains is miserable for common man . It is the worst commuting in the entire WORLD . I would like to state certain facts about Andhra Pradesh related to Saints of Maharashtra.Fifty years ago N.T.Rama Rao produced acted in Bhakta Pundareek Story in Telugu.Later Telugu Films were made on Sakkubai,Gora Kumbhar and Tukaram.All these films were very popular.  There are about a Million SIVAJIs named after Chatrapathi. There are many Tilaks and Gokhales named after these Great Freedom Fighters.Infact the Maharashtrian Surname has become a name in Andhra Pradesh.

There are Great Directors like K.Viswanath, who has given Many Evergreen Telugu Classics like Sankarabharanam,Sagara Sangamam etc, Telugu Director Bapu who has directed many good films in Telugu and Hindi, Tamil Director Maniratnam who has given many Good Tamil and Hindi Movies and of course the Great Marathi Director JABBAR PATEL apart from Shyam Benegal.
