i was in about the same spot as you when i was only playing for a year, the thing that helped me by far the most was using the pinky. gotta use it more bro. and sweeping really helped me get better too. although its kinda awkward seeing as im only pretty good at rhythm and filthy at sweeps :/

but keep going man, youll get alot better :D

This is really, really, really, really, really good. For less than a year of playing guitar, you are pretty impressive. Keep playing and you will only improve your skill. I'm sure you've read up technique articles on the internet and found out basic beginner tips such as alternate picking, etc.

But overall, REALLY impressive. Keep the videos coming.
