They, apparently, didn't play this clip that often in the 70s, because I don't remember this clip at all. Their voices sounded a bit different, so I'm assuming it was much earlier.
@MissSheilaBeila I'm thinking they may have decided it was setting a bad example (even though it shows the consequences). You don't want kids to have a noise war.
I love the sound of Ernie's footsteps! And what about that quick shot of Frank Oz's hair? Back? just before Bert crab-legs it over to the blender! LOL! 0:55
"O-KAY Smart guy"... I was convinced that Bert was going to go all De Niro on Ernie. Haha, they both really sound like Gangsters in this one, especially when the lights get dark ha!
@toonguy06 I've been looking for that one too as well as another segment about Bert buying a birthday present for his Aunt Matilda and Ernie messes with it. These segments bring back so many memories!
I Most say out of all of the Bert and Ernie Video Clips on Utube this one has to be the funny's Thing is I hate to see how many times they've had to replace fuses in there Breaker!!!
Why does Bert tell Ernie "You blew a fuse?" Bert is the one who started the whole fight by turning on the record player, and he ended up killing the power by turning on the mixer. Good clip, though! I forgot about this one.
LOL @ how Ernie responds to Bert at 1:12 to 1:17. Also, what difference would it it have mad if Bert did play a record during Ernies TV show? All it sounded like was a bunch of gunshots, no dialogue.
LOL! I think it'd be funny if there were a newer version of this, where Bert has a CD player instead of a record player, Ernie plays MP3s on a computer, and Bert makes a microwave oven beep over and over to cause the blackout!
I've been looking for this one forever. I always thought it was hilarious with the eyes being the only thing you could see in the dark. It's still funny almost 40 years later.

They don't really glow in the dark, it's just the white eyes in front of a black background. They didn't really shoot this in the dark. :)
