Everytime i try to do it, it will turn the folder into a .rar.

But if i try to put a folder in any other folder, like the Minecraft.jar...

it won't change into a .rar and jsut keep the same,

@shotyoudown2 check to see if its in multiplayer format just open the folder and if theirs nothing else but 1 folder inside its multiplayer and in that case just take that inside folder cut and paste it outside rename it delete the original folder it was in and you should be good

To find .minecraft, go to computer, local disk, users, clikc your name, then in the box type \appdata after your name, then press enter (should come up with some options) then go to roaming, and .minecraft is there. youre welcome.

Then you own the alpha (downloaded) version of the game.

The world you downloaded contains newer type items with an other ID.

The older version cant handle these and crashes
