This touched my heart so much .. this coming tuesday I am going to have to do this with my 15 year old Doxie Macs .. I know it is for the best and I know he will be better and free of all pain .. and considering he was only given till he was 5 and has made it this far I know he has lived the good life.. .. Six months ago, I put my beloved Doxie away at the age of 6 because of kidney problems. Believe me you never get over it. This video just made me bawl.. Nice looking sausage there. I've got one myself and she's hitting 12 pretty soon. Her brown colored hair are fading and her face is all white already. Still the cutest dog in the whole world, but sad to see her aging so fast already.

Jack is beautiful. There is just nothing like the heart of a little dachshund. Mine is 10 now and just had a disc rupture in her back 3 weeks ago. She is still partially paralyzed but we are hoping for a good recovery. Dachshunds are such special dogs. I can't imagine not having her around. Thanks for such a heartwarming video.

I lost both of my babies the same day. One had to be put down, and the other got out of the house in the night (she never did that before) and got run over. They were mother and daughter. Sad, SAD day. I had just lost my mom 3 months earlier. Didn't think I was gonna make it.

Beautiful video. My daughter had a dachshung, Leo, for 12 years, and he was a wonderful dog. She had to put him to sleep this summer because of numerous health problems. It was heartbreaking! This video reminds me of Leo! Wonderful tribute to a member of the family.
What an awesome tribute! Even without your song of choice, you can tell just how wonderful and devoted a doxie mom you are. We also just lost one of our doxies, ALSO named Jackson (aka "Funny Boy"), so I know just how hard it is to let go. The years of memories, unconditional love, and laughter SO outweigh the pain of his loss ... I'm sure you know what I mean.

my doxie has heart failurer and is being euthanized in a bout 5 mins its a heartache that NEVER leaves! sorry for your loss but hes in a better place now.

I remember the first time I saw this video. It touched me deep down like an icy grip on my heart. It made me realize how precious time with the ones you love really is. I think the reason this struck such a chord with me is because my dachshund Snoopy looks just like jack did. I don't now how I will deal with life when Snoopy departs but I do know I will always remember and treasure the moments I had with him. I'm sure Jack was one in a million and there will never be one like him.

while shopping in Monroe La, yesterday at southern style antiques the guy who owns it is a weenie dog rescue person. He showed us his wennie dog collection it added up to 19 weenie dogs one or two blinds ones but all looked to be in magnifient health! Ya know their are some speacial folks out their no one knows about such as this guy! We have a weenie dog also in which he gets fed before i do! Like alot of the people that commented my little molly is almost two years old now, and seeing this made me get teary eyed. I think it's awsome that you have a photographic history to remember him by. Molly isn't the only "lady" in my life, but she comes second best to no one. These dogs aren't just playmates they are life mates as well.
As the song goes "There's no other dog like a dachshund". We have a mini red and will be 5 in Aug.09. Unfortunately he went blind last winter. He still enjoys life but sure slowed him down.
Be happy that you had Jack for the years you did. He'll be waiting for you in the "Great Bone Yard in the Sky".
He had a happy life for sure. My dachshund died last year with 19 years old. I miss him a lot. But our rule as good master is always give them the best, like you did. God bless you and the dogs of your life!
I'm writng this with tears in my eyes. My doxie boy is 10.5 years and is all grey where he once was tan. He has chronic back problems, Cushing's disease & just survived MRSA but wakes up happy every day. Every day with me is a blessing. You were lucky to have your boy for 13 years, God blrss!

Dear doxzens4ever,numerous dogs and cats have shared my life since1985, but the time I had with my little Bindi, a red and black longhaired minitiature dachshund is always going to be a very warm memory, she reached the ripe old age of fourteen, and I was so lucky as to have her live with me for five happy years. Hope that one day I can let another long-haired treasure into my life again, save your memories well, and good on you for your fostering work, must be hard.
it's difficult to try and type this, i have tears in my eyes and i keep having to wipe my nose. that's sooo sad. i miss my dog Itchy, a stupid mangey cat clawed him to get a piece of bread my mom gave him and it's claw got stuck in his gum and it somehow turned into cancer that took his life. since then i will never let a cat in my home. i don't have anything against cat's... i just don't want them near my dogs

This was just wonderful. We have had Daisy Duke for 6 going on 7 years and dod not know what we will do without Daisy. She is the joy of our lives. Beautiful video. My daughter had a dachshung, Leo, for 12 years, and he was a wonderful dog. She had to put him to sleep this summer because of numerous health problems. It was heartbreaking! This video reminds me of Leo! Wonderful tribute to a member of the family.

What an awesome tribute! Even without your song of choice, you can tell just how wonderful and devoted a doxie mom you are. We also just lost one of our doxies, ALSO named Jackson (aka "Funny Boy"), so I know just how hard it is to let go. The years of memories, unconditional love, and laughter SO outweigh the pain of his loss ... I'm sure you know what I mean.

god saw him getin tired, cure was not 2 b so he put his arms around him and whispered come with me wit teary eyes u watched and saw him passaway although u loved him dearly u could not make him stay.a golden heart stopped beating hardworking paws at rest god broke our hearts 2 prove us he only takes the best..............GOD BLESS YOU and every heart that was broken.

Thanks for sharing. As I watched your dog age I couldn't help but noticing the similarities with my old one, Bubba. It was truly a loving tribute to all dachshunds young and not so young. They are truly a great dog and friend.

my doxie has heart failurer and is being euthanized in a bout 5 mins its a heartache that NEVER leaves! sorry for your loss but hes in a better place now.

I remember the first time I saw this video. It touched me deep down like an icy grip on my heart. It made me realize how precious time with the ones you love really is. I think the reason this struck such a chord with me is because my dachshund Snoopy looks just like jack did. I don't now how I will deal with life when Snoopy departs but I do know I will always remember and treasure the moments I had with him. I'm sure Jack was one in a million and there will never be one like him.

while shopping in Monroe La, yesterday at southern style antiques the guy who owns it is a weenie dog rescue person. He showed us his wennie dog collection it added up to 19 weenie dogs one or two blinds ones but all looked to be in magnifient health! Ya know their are some speacial folks out their no one knows about such as this guy! We have a weenie dog also in which he gets fed before i do! As the song goes "There's no other dog like a dachshund". We have a mini red and will be 5 in Aug.09. Unfortunately he went blind last winter. He still enjoys life but sure slowed him down.
Be happy that you had Jack for the years you did. He'll be waiting for you in the "Great Bone Yard in the Sky".

He had a happy life for sure. My dachshund died last year with 19 years old. I miss him a lot. But our rule as good master is always give them the best, like you did. God bless you and the dogs of your life!

I'm writng this with tears in my eyes. My doxie boy is 10.5 years and is all grey where he once was tan. He has chronic back problems, Cushing's disease & just survived MRSA but wakes up happy every day. Every day with me is a blessing. You were lucky to have your boy for 13 years, God blrss!

Dear doxzens4ever,numerous dogs and cats have shared my life since1985, but the time I had with my little Bindi, a red and black longhaired minitiature dachshund is always going to be a very warm memory, she reached the ripe old age of fourteen, and I was so lucky as to have her live with me for five happy years. Hope that one day I can let another long-haired treasure into my life again, save your memories well, and good on you for your fostering work, must be hard.

it's difficult to try and type this, i have tears in my eyes and i keep having to wipe my nose. that's sooo sad. i miss my dog Itchy, a stupid mangey cat clawed him to get a piece of bread my mom gave him and it's claw got stuck in his gum and it somehow turned into cancer that took his life. since then i will never let a cat in my home. i don't have anything against cat's... i just don't want them near my dogs

Your doxie was obviously a ray of sunshine in your lives. I lost my dear longhaired dachshund January 24, 2009. She was not only a beloved pet, but a treasured member of our family.
