Although I love Bono's music I don't think he deserves to be voted Ireland's greatest person. He may have done alot for charities in 3rd world countries but what has he done for Ireland?? Not alot compared to Michael Collins. Only for Collins Ireland wouldn't be the country it is today. Bono should first use his fame and fortune to help get Ireland out of the hole it's in then go and helf these 3rd world countries. Charity begins at home
@DJEMMEY25 He did Self Aid back in 1986 and continues to support Irish charities (the Irish Hospice Foundation also springs to mind). Not to mention the fact that he and the rest of the band own houses in Ireland, generating money that way. There's also many hardcore U2 fans that make pilgrimages each year to Ireland, thus increasing revenue into the country.
@shkee23 Fair enough Bono has done some great work but if it wasn't for the hard work of Michael Collins this country would still be ruled by the english and the likes of U2 might ever of been formed. What I'm saying is Michael Collins made a great foundation for Ireland

i believe his ONE charity has taken in millions,but only gave thousands to charity.the rest went on salaries and costs.ease third world debt.bono please give generously
