Uh...I got mine today for Christmas with The Metal Foundry...it isn't showing up. Only Superior 2, and DKFH are showing up in Solo...so disappointed. Oh my god man. There is also no help at the Toontrack website.
Oh and these are pretty much the best drum samples ever made for metal music. Combine the MF cymbals and toms with the bass drum and snare from the Steven Slate samples and you're good to go lol.
I like the metal kits from DFH and all of that opposed to the regular. Even in the lighter music (they sound more pop without heavy guitars). I just like a quicker snap to my percussion than a drawn out room reverb.
The best drum samples for metal music... Superior 2 is good, but it IS NOT THAT SUITED FOR METAL
My bet is MF will be poor choice for milder music, but hey, the name is METAL FOUNDRY for a reason.
I found Superior 2 to be lacking compared to BFD2 when it comes to heavy stuff, but MF is simply N1.
The only thing it lacks is a sub kick/ bass boom / dive type of samples which are pretty modern these days. No harm done however, the effect can still be achieved through processing...

Sound sucks. It is enough to use only SUP 2 without this huge addon. Bad tone. Its the same history as with drumkits from hell "EZ-drummer". But of course some noobies will like it!
hahaha! idk man.. he's pretty jammin. I saw him with Dark Angel & then later with Testament. He had an artillery shell on his kit! I thought that was the coolest thing ever! hahaha! I bet they don't make vst artillery shells... yet. LOL!
Yeah, he's always been a great drummer. The only thing I'm worried about is that since he uses MIDI triggers, he doesn't have to hit his kit as hard as he would without triggers. He might have his kit rigged just right so that he can play it normally and still not break the wiring, haha.
Yeah, my drummer plays with triggered kicks & he has it set up where he can bash the hell out of it! When he plays double bass the whole floor shakes! hahaha! Hey bro, you seem to know Metal. Check out the 2 cover vids I just posted & let me know what you think!
@wastedwithin Well, I have been in multiple jams with drummers and seen how they tick, so my drum programming has become more and more accurate to reflect certain drummers' abilities. The thing is, my computer is really bad...Superior 2 takes up so much CPU on this hunk o' junk. XD

Custom MIDI by Gene Hoglan? Too bad they didn't record his kit too. He's a fantastic drummer.
CesspoolPredator 2 years ago
Gene doesn't use the sounds from his kit, he uses MIDI triggers. His kit is always a wired MIDI device.
Demonstray0 2 years ago
Cool. I guess I saw him live so long ago MIDI drum kits didn't exist! hahaha!
CesspoolPredator 2 years ago
Haha yeah, he was awesome on his kit before he wired it. He should probably give triggers up; he might forget how to play a real kit right. :P

Dude I wish I had a drummer. My computer is my drummer, and don't get me wrong, it's a great drummer, but it's kind of an asshole. LOL.
Sure thing, heading to your channel now!

@Demonstray0 If you've never worked with a drummer before than take my advice, your better off with your computer, lol.
