@rolandrkelly2 I was in the military, and unless you are in a combat role, then you play a support role (which is most likely what you play). Now, support is needed, but don't get a big head based on a simple support job. I could have done every support job in the military but decided against it because they are squishy, pogue jobs. Also, don't argue with somebody who knows more than you about the issues. You watch maybe 15 minutes of news a day if that? I do 6 hours, different networks. Sorry.

@jargainjones Once again you are telling lies to people who know the truth. Ranger school is 61 days total. You have to set yourself apart from your peers to get any additional schools. Where as ranger is offered to new recruits during airborne school, which you can volunteer for in AIT. Your best change to go after that is to have one of those POG jobs they need. And I bet you're out of breath after a walk to the mail box.

There is absolutely no comparsion but you wouldn't know that because you are just a support pogue (POG). You don't know what it feels like to go a month with no shower, w/ non stop missions, only to wish you could be home eating a warm meal, or any good meal for that matter. Maybe even miss sleeping on a pillow, or having a chick at your side, etc.. No, you haven't felt that nor will you ever.

The only thing you need to have to be a sniper is good eyes, and good aim. You don't have to endure any physical or psychological stress, unless you are just a stressful person to begin with. Again, we are on completely different levels. I was the kinda guy you wanted to be in the military but were too afraid to become.

I don't even think it is a requisite any more to learn how to read a map in sniper school. Don't worry, you won't ever have to tell anybody that you gained your knowledge from an intellectual on youtube.

What about windage, elivation, bullet drop, humidity, altitude, and all the other math that goes into distance shooting. Not to mention stalking, consealment, deficating on yourself to mantain your position, and the stress drills. And getting recomended for the school and putting together a packet with a maxed PT score. Again not ranger school but not a cake walk. Stop perpetuating your lies.
@rolandrkelly2 Roland, what I am saying is a 13 year old could do all of that. Have you seen some of these kids who go hunting with their dads at young ages? Marksman, perfect marksman. The hardest part about being a sniper would be in a real combat role, where you could possibly take fire. That goes for every combat role though, not just being a sniper lol. As far as Sniper School, I reiterate; a 13 year old can do it.
@jargainjones I find it hard to beleve that a 13 year old could do 71 pushups(2 min), 78 situps(2 min) and run 2 miles in 13 mins or better. Not to mention those kids are shoting 300 or less meters with optics, which is a lot less than 800+ for qualifying with a M24. And again the school is not just marksmanship. Had you been a soldier you would know that already.
@jargainjones And in combat they have it a lot harder than you think, opertating in 2 man teams, laying on an OP for days strait piss and shiting on them selves just in hopes the can spot that HVT or providing over watch for someone else. They serve 2 roles scout and precision weapon.
@rolandrkelly2 Roland, sniper school can't prepare you for dealing with combat, no school can. When it comes to combat, the training and practice obviously helps, but not going to ease your mental woes. Don't even know why I am going this far, but the reality is - To get into sniper school, really anybody can do it. When you actually surround yourself with people who all have a ranger patch, and everybody else has other school patches; only then will you know how easy schools like sniper are.
@jargainjones The only other school that has a patch is snapper, which is extreamly hardcore also and SF which is the most hardcore. But then again I don't know why I expect you to know than.

Pathfinder, air assault, and the others don't have patches. They have these things called skill identifier badges(which are only autherized in garision). @rolandrkelly2 I was in the military, and unless you are in a combat role, then you play a support role (which is most likely what you play). Now, support is needed, but don't get a big head based on a simple support job. I could have done every support job in the military but decided against it because they are squishy, pogue jobs. Also, don't argue with somebody who knows more than you about the issues. You watch maybe 15 minutes of news a day if that? I do 6 hours, different networks. Sorry.

@jargainjones Once again you are telling lies to people who know the truth. Ranger school is 61 days total. You have to set yourself apart from your peers to get any additional schools. Where as ranger is offered to new recruits during airborne school, which you can volunteer for in AIT. Your best change to go after that is to have one of those POG jobs they need. And I bet you're out of breath after a walk to the mail box.

@rolandrkelly2 Roland.. Ranger school is 100x harder than Sniper school. How can you even argue this? There is absolutely no comparsion but you wouldn't know that because you are just a support pogue (POG). You don't know what it feels like to go a month with no shower, w/ non stop missions, only to wish you could be home eating a warm meal, or any good meal for that matter. Maybe even miss sleeping on a pillow, or having a chick at your side, etc.. No, you haven't felt that nor will you ever.

I just said that you have to be highly motivated to go to sniper school and anyone who enlist is given the chance to go ranger if you go to airborne. There you go assuming you know me. I've spent weeks strait in 125+ weather shearching for the notorious Bongo truck VBIED, sleeping in a MRAP a few hours at a time. Let me guess you think your a Ranger? My XO is ranger qualifide, he answers e-mails and keeps accountability of the property book.

The only thing you need to have to be a sniper is good eyes, and good aim. You don't have to endure any physical or psychological stress, unless you are just a stressful person to begin with. Again, we are on completely different levels. I was the kinda guy you wanted to be in the military but were too afraid to become.

@rolandrkelly2 Sniper School is not extreme in any way. A 13 year old child could pass sniper school with flying colors, so long as he could aim and shoot. I don't even think it is a requisite any more to learn how to read a map in sniper school. You have no idea what you are talking about, but now that I have informed you, you can now go out and spread the word. Don't worry, you won't ever have to tell anybody that you gained your knowledge from an intellectual on youtube.

What about windage, elivation, bullet drop, humidity, altitude, and all the other math that goes into distance shooting. Not to mention stalking, consealment, deficating on yourself to mantain your position, and the stress drills. And getting recomended for the school and putting together a packet with a maxed PT score. Again not ranger school but not a cake walk. Stop perpetuating your lies.

@rolandrkelly2 Roland, what I am saying is a 13 year old could do all of that. Have you seen some of these kids who go hunting with their dads at young ages? Marksman, perfect marksman. The hardest part about being a sniper would be in a real combat role, where you could possibly take fire. That goes for every combat role though, not just being a sniper lol. As far as Sniper School, I reiterate; a 13 year old can do it.

@jargainjones I find it hard to beleve that a 13 year old could do 71 pushups(2 min), 78 situps(2 min) and run 2 miles in 13 mins or better. Not to mention those kids are shoting 300 or less meters with optics, which is a lot less than 800+ for qualifying with a M24. And again the school is not just marksmanship. Had you been a soldier you would know that already.

When it comes to combat, the training and practice obviously helps, but not going to ease your mental woes. Don't even know why I am going this far, but the reality is - To get into sniper school, really anybody can do it. When you actually surround yourself with people who all have a ranger patch, and everybody else has other school patches; only then will you know how easy schools like sniper are.
