I am just curious why did Kathy change the lyrics from you're the best to you're my rest?

@mrshenmac I'm not sure why Kathy changed it from "you're the best" to "you're my rest". The only thing I can guess is that the rest of the song is a paraphrase of the Bible (Philippians 3:7-11), and "you're the best" is sort of a modern phrase. Perhaps she thought it didn't quite sound right. Sounds OK to me!

@semajgnik I disagree. "youre the best" is like what a happy lil kid would say to mom/dad. It brought such a fitting enthusiasm to the song (&repeated often in the chorus). We hear "youre my rest" a lot; its good,but means something so different than "youre the best," which is way more fitting to the song's main msg: a deep cry of wanting to know God more because he is SO good..so good that u dont know how to express it without saying simply, youre the best...the best thing i could possibly have

@STEPHENAUBREYdotcom I agree with you stephenaubreydotcom. When my worship team sings this song the peak of the song is that rollover near the end where "you're my all, you're the best, you're my joy!" is repeated. It's hard not to burst into a smile during that part of the song. True, Jesus is our rest, but the phrase just doesn't fit with what Paul was trying to convey. He was exulting and proclaiming the power of God, not resting.

Bob, a LOVELY soothing peaceful tune, Kathy's voice is enchanting, & her piano solo. Maybe because I am Bipolar, it was difficult for me to listen to piano solo & try to read the Bible words @ same time. I lost the words, but will try again later.
