Am life member of ICF. Been out for a weekend with George and USFWS to Necedah to see nesting whoopers. ICF, OM and all crane conservation efforts are heroic.
I too grew up in Baraboo and my mom was the ICF's first veterinarian. I used to help her and George Archibald position cranes for the various procedures. Members can attend the Annual Member meeting in September and usually get the option of a field trip to the Horicon Marsh where the Ultralights are located. It's a fantastic experience.
