I'm pulling 6lbs of boost and 650 hp. my next upgrade is the fuel system to a kenny bell and fuel lines then I can run 10 lbs and pull another 80 hp . somewhere in the neighbor hood of 750 hp on the rear wheels with a stock LS2 bottom end . 20 thousand miles and I'll put a 418 block on it and it will be over 850 hp and I'll have 20 grand in the car and 20 total in upgrades after the rebuild .

They have cars pushing more that 2000hp and run high 6's in the quarter corvettes aren't "the fastest car you can get, when maxed out" they have big turbo supra's that could eat this thing like a bowl of cheerios. They're by no means the worlds fastest cars, but they're sexy as hell and about as fast as it. Not knocking the Corvette just saying that they aren't the fastest things out there.

@jolseen this is a won of a kind of a car but all you have to do is put a bigger cam in a motor like that to obtain HP. I had a 61 chevy that produced 435 HP just by doing some mods to the motor. I think he has a nice car and can get better results by going to a bigger bore in the block. If he had a larger lobe seperation in the cam and more duration then he may accheve a much better gain in horse power for sure. He may have done that, but we can see the end results.

I will take this beautiful work of machinery over any trashy Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche. I owned a Testarossa, (nothing but headaches), and my brother has a Porsche Carrera. Everytime the Porsche is pushed to the limit, some part always breaks. The Corvette can be stomped on all day and at the end it would ask for more. The only real sports car in the world, without paying thousands of dollars for replacement parts. Beautiful!

46k with tax, 6k in mods. 52k all in. Well over $15k below the cost of a base 2008 Z06 without tax. Only reason I did not go for the Z06 is because it has a fixed solid roof. The removable glass roof was a must IMO

You can get a new 08 LS3 base model for around 40k (I paid 40,5xx for mine last week). Long tube headers, cai, intake, exhaust, tune can be done for around $2500. You're looking at a grand total of $44,000.. a long way from a $70-80k Z06.
