  • It Is Brilliant To See Dusty Happy, Few People Know That Dusty Suffered From Bipolar Disorder. It Took A Hell Of A Lot For Her To Get Motivated And Produce, What I Consider, A Great Hit That Will Never Be Forgotten

  • I watch Dusty singing as rememberance to my Mum, who passed away November 2011 from Cancer, my Mum loved Dusty's voice, i grew up on Dusty and love her voice also.....I can still see Mum boogie on down to Dusty singing her heart out.....music is great for the soul......makes me happy

  • My mom was just a couple years younger than Dusty.. Looked a lot like her and had a lot of the same hair, lol. Mom passed in '95, then Dusty a couple years later. They were both way too young to go.....

  • I agree she was such an underrated singer, she was amazing :)

  • youtube: undertake private party

  • es increible como esta mujer de los 60 se almodo a la musica de los 80 perfectamente siendo ya una señora, me encanta la gente asi, la admiro muchisimo !

  • SHE WAS VERY 80'S

  • All those other women in this video are past incarnations of Dusty.

  • fajny stary kawałek:)

  • Who directed the video, Stock, Aitken, and Waterman?

  • @fep70

I think you'll find it was Michael Caton-Jones.

  • chmmm moze cos tak po Polsku?? po Najpieknieszym jezyku Swiata ! sorki za brak znakow ;)

  • Pet Shop Boys + Dusty Springfield.. Who'd have thought that when Neil was a journalist, Chris an architect and Dusty was conquering America ?.. 3 legends of pop.

  • BEST!!

  • Soo very sad , that being gay/lesbian or bi is still so controversial to some primitive people on here , they feel it necessary to bombard the commentry with subliminal hatred.

  • @TheSaoirse777 I agree with you, When I listen to a great song or singer, I never think what their sexual needs are. Just enjoy the song.

  • @TheSaoirse777 Amen.

  • nice girls and good music! :P

  • Damn, I was 17 back then.

    Time flies.

  • Why the hell do all the best singers die so fucking young? It's injustice...

  • i love this women, its a bloody shame she's gone. carnt decide whats her best?

  • Dusty. We miss you X X X All your Irish Fans X X

  • Glenn Close

  • Great upbeat tune helps offset her own personal heartbreak. Still uncommonly beautiful, despite everything.

  • MUSIC FOR ME IS THE ULTIMATE ART FORM...THE KING.

ESPECIALLY WHEN REAL ARTIST'S CAN DO IT, AND KILL YOU, WITH THEIR POETIC LAMENTS & AMAZING SOUNDS.

    I'M 30 YEARS YOUNG THIS JULY...(TIME FLIES)

AND I LISTEN TO MUSIC AROUND AND ABOUT...

BUT THATS ALL I CAN DO, IS LISTEN...

BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHIN TO HEAR ?

    IT'S ALL SOULESS, DISPOSABLE RUBBISH.

I HONESTLY CAN'T REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I HEARD A GREAT SONG ON THE AIRWAVES ?

    THANK GOD, I HAD THE 90'S ; )

    R.I.P. DUSTY...AND THANKS FOR THE MUSIC ; )

  • 36 people will never do anything in private ; )

  • even men had big hair in the 80s. PERMS lol i didnt have one thank fuk

  • Dusty looks a little Lily Savage here.....lol

  • Great singer, but she looks a bit like Shirley from Eastenders

  • @moonrunner303 Funny, She's London Irish.

    Probably why she's so good... ; )

  • There's a great NEW book on Dusty: 'The Invention of Dusty Springfield - Scenes From a BritPop Icon'. It's a fun read and a tribute to 'our' Dusty. Available on Amazon.com.

  • @phyettb A good book on Dusty I recommend "Dancing with Demons" an Authorized Autobiography by Penny Valentine (who also died age 59 Cancer)Journalist/friend of Dusty's inner circle and Vicki Wickham Dusty's Manager/friend . Dusty's bad childhood family/Catholic all girls school boys are evil.Drugs/Booze/smokeing her deep inner pain which caused her to self inflict wounds, in/out of American/England Mental Institutes, all gay relationships ended in Violence! Truly happy singing and performing

  • best

  • one of dustys best thanks to the pet shop boys .

  • It doesn't sound like she saying "in private" e.g at 3:38 and the next moment she pronounces it fine. I don't get this.

  • Comment removed

  • Thats because she isnt saying 'in private' there. The line at 3:38 is in public.

    The chorus goes -

(and) What you gonna say, in private? You still want my love, were in this together What you gonna do, in public...... Say you were never in love, that you cant remember :)

  • Dusty, my wee Princess. We will hold you dear for ever. x

  • @Nicasitojoe I love this song so much!

It brings me back memories when I used to dance nonstop like it was always Saturday night.

Those days are long gone and I'm here missing them.

  • DAM! So Many More Songs For Dusty Too Sing.

Love This Vid. Totally the "Pet Shop Boys" Work!

RIP Dusty= You'll Never Be Forgotton

  • LOVE THIS VID LOVE DUSTY FOREVER

  • i love dusty she is g8 on tis track i wish she was still here

  • @MsFanmail

I agree I wish she was still here too

  • i was a child when this song was hit nice to hear it thx

  • This whole thing sucks. I love Dusty Springfield and I'd argue she is the best White Soul singer of all time. And God bless the Pet Shop Boys for kicking her some work at a time when no one cared. But this song sucks. It sounds like all those has-beens that kicked out Disco songs trying to be "relevant". (The one exception is Cher's "Take Me Home", go figure.) I wish she lived a little longer. Imagine what the Propellerheads would have done with her.

  • Nice tune, Cool to see Dusty doing something modern... but jeez.. what a STINKER

of a video !!! Just the worst. No Ideas!!

  • Such a great song performed by such a great singer, the white queen of soul! Thank you so much for posting!

  • Simply GREAT! A GREAT SONG FROM A GREAT SINGER, TRULY THE WHITE QUEEN OF SOUL...

  • THE GEORGEOUS DUSTY...MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE IS COLOURING BOOK...R.I.P Lovely Lady.

  • THE GEORGEOUS DUSTY...MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE IS COLOURING BOOK...R.I.P Lovely Lady

  • I love her smile at 1:58

  • What kind of eye make-up is this? They made her look like some kind of macabre raccoon. Totally inadequate for such a fine artist!

  • @shark1305 If You Ever Saw Dusty In The 60's, Her Eye Make Up Was Very Extream & Very

Appealing For That Time In Music. The Ronnettes Are Another Group Of Women That Wore Tons

Of Very Black Eye Make Up & Everyone Then, Tried To Look Like Them.

Possibly "The Pet Shop Boys" Encouragered "Dusty" To Look That Way.

    Then Again, Maybe I'm Wrong.

  • @desert3347 Thanx a lot for your clear explanation, Desert. I never saw Dusty in the 60's but, at any rate, it was the 60's and this was the 80's. Was it the same thing? One thing is for sure, though, make-up or not, Dusty Springfield was a superb singer and she is really missed

  • @shark1305 We Saw Dusty Once In LA in the late 60's, Sexy As Hell, Beautiful voice & Arm Movements, then She vanished! Lots of Personal Problems after Reading About Her. Her Trade Make was Her Dark Eye Makeup against that Blond Hair. The Ronnettes makeup was even more EXTREAM and who the hell didn't love & Want to Look Like Them!! Tnkx for Your comment Shark!.

  • THANK GOD! finnaly I found this song!

  • Rest in peace lady xxx

  • R.I.P

  • 2nd marc h2011 The 12th anniversary of when this incredible lady, The First White Lady of Soul came home. Oh how we miss her

  • @thepeacefulpoet I Agree With You, God How We All Miss Dusty. The Time Has Flown And We All Still Listen To Her Music. She'll Always Be Alive, Won't She.

  • Pet Shop Boys!

    Gooooooo Dusssssssty!!

  • geez ,, what is all this fuss about... Dusty simply is the best British female voice.. period

  • Boomer, I got yer back, she is IT!

  • I'm Sure That Dusty Felt More "Comfortable" Singing With All Women. By This Time In Her Life, Everyone Knew that She Prefered "Women" In Private.

What a Woman, What a Voice!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!! Was this "Dustys" Song or What!

No Men in it! Big Beautiful Blond Hair, Shoulder Pads, Sultry Voice!

I Would Become A "Gender Bender" in A Heart Beat if Dusty Was Around!

    rip Dusty

  • Dustin is a great singer

and this song is from my teenage

what can i say - i love this song

  • yes,discoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooomusic!!!!!!!!

  • yes,discooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo................

  • This is one of the most amazing songs ever.

  • Imádom ezt a számot!!!!

    Fantasztikus!

  • great song. great thing that the PSB hooked up with her during the late 1980s. PSB should have done a follow album with her instead of doing what they did after their 1988 release.

  • so classy, clazza01. Asshole

  • @jfrank94608 ooh dear somebody cannot read

    read the other comments

i think she is beautiful aswell as talented, others are vile about her

    proving a point

  • Hallo ik vind het een mooie liedje.

  • she looks like shirley from eastenders

  • This is a song from an old PC game Gemstorm "G3.mid"!! Kudos!

  • It's been a while, but hey she's still my favourite singer of all time.....Tony

  • This brings me back to my teens the memories come flooding back! good ones when music such as this was still produced.God bless her soul.

  • Right two things. First Im a straight guy and I find something about Dusty very attractive. She isn't coventionally goodlooking but she is very sexy. Secondly and most importantly she was an amazing artist. One of my favourite singers of all time. When in full attack - proper give it some welly- mode, Dusty could belt out a voice that would give Aretha a good run for her money. Shame then that she is remembered for safe vocal range performances like this, but even still I love this song.

  • @firefighterno1 for a straight guy, you have wonderful taste which is rare!

  • @firefighterno1

What is "coventionally goodlooking" My God she is maybe the most beautiful MOMAN to ever Walk, Talk, Sing and Live this dreadful Earh we live on. I started following her 30 years ago.

  • @firefighterno1 I am entirely relieved to read a comment that so perfectly mirrors my own sentiments about Dusty - being a heterosexual woman, I don't find her sexually attractive, but her voice is the embodiment of arousal. I love the material she recorded with the Pet Shop Boys. I've always applauded them for demonstrating such good taste. And I appluad you too.

  • @firefighterno1 Dusty Springfield was conventionally good-looking when young. I'd like to see her looks yearly from the late 1950's to the 1990's. Certainly she promoted a revolution in her hair. She's an intringuing character. For sometime there was talk of Ang Lee making a film on Springfield. Too bad it didn't come to fruition.

  • Dusty was amazing singer wish she was still here i rather listen to her than some singers in the charts these days

  • Very so greatest tune show on! Fantastic!!!

  • I adore this song

  • sheer class love from ireland.

  • dusty was so wonderful

  • Dusty – aka Mary O’Brien, from Dublin – came to terms with her lesbianism when she was a teenager. She never pretended to be otherwise, and for this she is due huge credit. Similarly, she was banned from South Africa in the 1960s when she protested about black musicians in her band not being allowed to stay in her hotel. She cancelled the tour. Dusty wasn’t a political person – she was just a very beautiful human being who, with the innocence of a child, simply could not understand prejudice.

  • @montpelier42d Dusty is not from Dublin. Although of Irish parents, she was born in the London suburb of West Hampstead.

  • I, like others didn't know about this newer music of hers. I have many 45"s from the "sisties" that she did. OMG I love this song!! Was she bi-sexual? That's OK.

  • @Ilvcamusic Dusty was a card carrying lesbian with a beautiful gil friend to prove it. RIP Dusty!

  • @RImusclebear My God, why didn't I know. One of my friends in High School was bi-sexual & has been with her life partner,a woman, for years. Now as I look back over Dustys life, there wasn't many men, if any! Too bad she wasn't able to share that with many people. Just look at all the Lesbian women, broad caster, hosts, singers open with their gender preference! This knowledge just makes me love her more!

  • @Ilvcamusic You have to remember the times our beloved Dusty (Katherine) lived in. Not good for a female singer to be known as a lesbian! Sad but I really think Dusty was very happy with her beautiful girlfriend! When Dusty passed it was reported a large female contingency mourned her passing.

  • @RImusclebear Like I've said many times:

I would of Been A "Gender-Bender" for Dusty*******

    Oh Yeaaaaaaaaaa

  • LOVE THIS ITS BRILL ....ITS ALWATTTYS ON DUTCH RADIO WHEN IM DRIVING THROUGH THERE

  • I am 22 love slipknot bullet for my valentine but I love this. Shows that real music always shines through!

  • Przy tej piosence nie da się nie kręcić biodrami ... :)

  • Love this song.

  • w końcu ja znalazłem..

  • In short...................America doesn't rule the World as far as music is concerned. British music is, and always will be, far superior. What does America have to offer as far as the 60's goes? Not a lot, well, there's always Vietnam!

  • @auntytilly you frigging limey snob. There were alot of great singers and groups in the sixties in America just as there were in every country. Good thing everybody in your country doesn't have the ego you do otherwise you'd have a country full of nothing but hot air.

  • @auntytilly I Love British Music, but excuse ME! You need an Education! Freda Payne, Aretha Franklin, Darlene Love, The Ronnettes, Crystals, Beach Boys, Paris Sisters, Kathy Young, Liza Minnelli! Shaka, Temptations, Stylistics, Smoky! Should I go on You Dumb Bell!

  • love it

  • beautiful song

  • She was straight bi or gay i don't care. She was a great performer

  • @dandyboy1 I always thought of this song and video as homoerotic. I wonder if Dusty was coming to terms with her lesbianism when she recorded this? Great song!

  • Dusty had several major hits the world over, although much is forgotten since her passing and, of course, generations who grew up without knowing her. How quickly people forget! She is and was always one of the greatest performers of history.

  • wow

  • Holy Cow! I never Knew of this later music . Thanks for posting. a true wonderful person and Voice.

  • dusty you are sadly missed love you forever your loyal fan chris

  • dusty is the best thing about this vid!!

  • what I like about this video is it is overtly lesbian and dusty was a lesbian so it is perfect. RIP my lovely Dusty. Your fans miss you so!

  • @RImusclebear

it may be a lesbian video today but did anyone think this video had lesbian themes contained in it during 1988? i doubt it. i doubt anyone thought anything other than it was a good song except radio programmers who might not have played it because they knew she was a lesbian but you can't bet they played r&b black shit music.

why do lesbians think black people are their friends? they burn lesbians alive in africa.

  • @The096757 you must be totally fucked,

  • Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dusty: Perfection from a perfectionist

  • Asian women seeking foreign men for marriage lushfmlk.info

  • Dusty was in a class of her own, and the Petshop Boy gave her a new lease of life...she was superb.

  • do you think dusty is pretty?

    thumbs up - yes

    thumbs down - no

    thanks xx

  • pretty has nothin gotta do with it.

  • @zen465 i ask because on so many other dusty videos people were calling her ugly, i wanted to see...i think she is beautiful...

  • @clazza01 Dusty is absolutely GORGEOUS! Anybody who tells you Dusty was ugly is just plain ignorant! As a gay man I have always loved Dusty and always will!

  • @clazza01 She is absolutely!

  • @clazza01

  • @clazza01 Dusty had a nose job half way through her career. I think she was prettier with the nose Gawd gave her. This video was after the nose job.

  • @clazza01 she looks like zombie albino David Bowie

  • @clazza01 are you looking better, or do you sing better? ;)

  • @Rigiblick1 i think she is beautiful just some people here vile sp proving a point

  • @clazza01 yes dusty was very pretty especialy when she had the beehive hairstyle

  • Loved it when dusty did this number for the movie with Ward, Porfumo and Keeler.

  • zajebisty kawalek .... ;]

  • @AlexVenducci lol

  • I'm surprised the Pet Shop Boys wrote this one, it doesn't have the typical PSB sound/vibe. It sounds more like a Bee Gees song...

  • O.K. I'll settle this discussion on whether she was famous or not. Picture a 13 yr. old Mishawaka, IN, U.S. girl glued to her little blue transister radio to try and catch another h-e-a-r-t breaking song sung in this lovely, clear yet smokey voice by this stylish looking soulful british singer, named Dusty Springfield. Even her name was cool! She was played right along with all of new and hottest Motown soul singers and west coast rock. And her songs & style of singing-still untouchable.

  • @boomer1954ful and so say all of us, she was lovely, god rest her soul

  • @boomer1954ful i agree with your comments i was born in 1970 but brought up listening to 50's/ 60's stuff my dad was a massive dusty fan..she never got the full recognition here in the uk for here later releases ie the dusty nashville album ( one of my all time fave tracks is son of a preacher man!) and and as you say she was the british answer to a soul / motown singer

  • @boomer1954ful Yep, you are a Dusty fan. Most gay guys and gals related to her in our youth! Many straight people did as well

  • @boomer1954ful The Mowton Artists did not christen her the First White Lady of Soul for nothing. Dusty was the most talented and iconic British female singer of the 2nd half of the 20th Century.

  • I remember like it was yesterday hearing her singing great songs that were part of a wonderful period in my life. I was 18yrs old and in the big city for the first time. I heard "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" and was in love with her and with life immediately. She was a class act all the way. Yeah she had some sordid aspects to her life but maybe we all do except no one is interested in ours .... She was nothing short of brilliant. I miss her so much.

  • Irregardless of how we feel about whether or not she was famous or not, her music will live on, long after we are all gone. New generations will discover just what a talent, what a star, what an immensely gifted performer she is. How fortunate we are to have her music. thank you Ms. Springfield!

  • What a voice, and what a class act she was. Another great artist who left us much too soon. No matter how lousy I feel, I just hit the Play button on a Dusty song, and I instantly feel better.

  • great woman good old dusty, we love her

  • With respect to the comments about her popularity in America - Most Americans recognize her music but do not know the personality that is Dusty Springfield. I honestly thought she was a black chick until Youtube. The fact that she's an English blonde makes her all the more fascinating.

  • @jilhal24- I do think you're right, although folks in the US who were around in the 60's do remember more than just the music (she did alot of TV at the time, Ed Sullivan, Hollywood Palace, Hullabaloo, Andy Williams, etc- my mother remembers the big blonde hair and heavy eye makeup), but it was in the UK- where she had her own TV show, multiple specials, and was a fixture on Ready, Steady Go- that she is viewed as an icon. But as you alluded in your comment, she really was one of a kind. ;)

  • @mnmcv1 you have to see how she was portrayed on American Dreams. It's both disgusting and shameful. watch?v=TBlI55laOvs
