@catbaddoc I tend to agree. Some sopranos are not cut out for Mimi, Tosca, Butterfly and others.
I can think of two great sopranos, Hildegard Behrens and Karita Mattila, who made big mistakes in
trying to take on Floria Tosca. Netrebko is another great one, but she's not particularly good here.
Loved her in "Traviata," though.

Oh My God! She took a breath between 'Babbino and Caro'! She has the worst breath control I have ever seen, even mine is better and I've only been singing singing for 5 years! Her diction is inexplicable and her voice sounds weak and unsupported. Hugely disappointed!

Alright, if you think you can do better, make a video of you singing this. Prove that you really know how to improve her version of this. Otherwise no one will take you seriously when critiquing a Metropolitan Opera singer.

big deal. it looks like she didn't take a breath before she started the phrase. she sang 6 beats long but she was able to sing longer phrases in one breath (third phrase was held for longer than 11 beats)? Bad breath support? i think not. She has done better.
