John Denver and Pat Hawk ; absolutely Beautiful ; Natural is the thought ; Beautiful is the Feeling ; Melody and harmonies ; gosh i could watch them all day ; equal accolades to the Pickers and Drummer and that Flute : Gosh it`s Good . Instramentlist ; Great work fellas ;
My wife was pregnant with our first child and I was stationed in the Middle East--just 24 years old and a 1st Lt.-I listened to my cassette player when I could-wore it out listening to this song-JD kept me going....we finally got to see him in person in Houston,Texas a couple years later...I still get 'blurry vision' when I hear it....
This song brings me back to when I was a child and family would all get together for laughs and songs. Someone playing the guitar, pots for drums and my Uncle Tom singing. Many of my family from this memory are now in heaven, and I can still hear them singing.... R.I.P Dad.
for me this is one of the best coming-home -songs...imagine you`r working far away from home for a long time and then after weeks / month you are coming home again...
This was one of my Dads favorite songs. I can remember listening to this song since i was 3 years old, and I remember that harmony was like something I couldnt discribe. With this and so many other JD songs there are tied some of my grandest memories. Dad died this past October and I think this song is going to be tied to his memory with me more than any other for me. This ones for you Dad. Thanks for teaching me to love music. Mike.
@kja427 I agree... you bet...but thing is...thanks for videos such as posted on here, we still have his music. I have this whole show on CD and Ipod and others. adn You tube is great...love it.....so we still have John Denver's music....He comes often on our trips...Great guy.. :-)
@zaafran2 I agree with the other comment. If we spent time with each other's music and the other joyful things of each other's culture--dance, art--and spent less time hating, I believe we could have peace and live on this earth how God intended.
John Denver helped me get back the one true love of my life after 28 years and 3 kids apiece. It's been 6 years now and we truly are "soul mates"! Through out those 28 years this song made me think of her. God bless you John...............
John was hitting on all cylinders this evening. Thank you so much for posting this up. I'll never forget his concerts at the Spectrum in Philly, he could make the whole place clap, laugh, and cry... rest easy JD....
I have always thought that John Denver was managed strangely. The pageboy haircut and round glasses of the 70's made him a lot of money, but, the price he paid was not being taken seriously as a songwriter and performer. This song is THE reminder of just how powerful his gift was. He was gone too soon.
Good memories of growing up and people I was blessed to have in my life...always makes me shed a tear. The world is a sadder place without John Denver.
Good memories of growing up and people I was blessed to have in my life...always makes me shed a tear. The world is a sadder place without John Denver.
I don't know what it is but every time I hear him sing I cry. He sings straight to your heart - you know each and every song he sings he believes in. What a gift.
john as left us to soon ,his songs reaches out to everone most of us ,he is one in a lifetime guy that comes along , and wakes us up to this wonderful world we live in ,he is a icon that as open our eyes to earths wonders, he,s the best ,god bless him..lenny roberts .
I've cried several times in the car listening to this song over the years. Makes me think of my deceased brother, the time away from my son due to my job and divorce, time away from my new wife and daughter.... very powerful.
For some reason this song was playing in my walkman when we tried to rescue the hostages in Iran on April 24th, 1980. It turned out to be a disaster with eight personnel killed. I've never forgotten it
Wow! This song is tied to a very traumatic event in my life, and still sends a shiver up my spine! When I was four, I was sitting in my parent's living room listening to this song on a set of gigantic headphones, looking out a big picture window in front of the house. It was during a heavy snowstorm, and at that moment as I watched, a young girl in my neighbourhood was stuck and killed by a car. When I hear this song, I'm right back in that moment.
Wow, I had the first comment two years ago and I'm crying as I type this. This song always has and always will bring tears to my eyes. I just wish I had had the privilege of seeing John play in person.
Such a sentimental song and what a joy it is to play on the guitar as I just learned to play it. As much as I''ve enjoyed listening to this song throughout the years, it just as enjoyable to play for my pleasure. I love it! Simple words, yet so powerful to stir the emotions.

Love this song...JD was the greatest singer/songwriter ever. My friends and I went camping several times a year in W VA and would listen to nothing but JD the whole time; Country Roads had to be playing when we arrived there and Back Home Again had to be playing when we got back. We may not hear his songs but once every few years, but I remember every word...and I love it! All JD fans seem to remember every word, and that is a tribute of everlasting love of JD!
Yes. I love John and have loved him all my life. His was a sad death. It was a hard time in my life anyway, and it was just a sad sad loss on top of everything else. If I could bring any musician back it would be Freddy Mercury, Michael Jackson, and John Denver.
I love this song & the youngest girl of 5 older brothers. They all drove trucks and everytime that I heard this song, it would make me cry. Now I only have 2 left with only 1 still driving & I still cry...rest in peace dear brothers & rest in peace John. You brought some beautiful music to us!!!
The most requested song whenever I went back home to the Phils. Wouldn't leave the folk house without hearing this song. Oh I love it, what a wonderful piece.....
I am a Korean, and I went to University of Washington in Seattle in 1984 through 1988. I remember I used to listen to this song over and over again whenever I had homesick. Thank you for the memory!
This is the best song John ever wrote and performed, 30+ years later it still brings a tear to my eyes when I hear it. We were robbed when we lost him. Thanks greatly for the post of this video.
