You could kill a few steps and make it easier on your self to bake the two halves first then scrape the pumpkin flesh out.

maybe oven needed more moisture, cracked like cheesecake. Put some hot water in the baking pan to prevent cracking. Test the pie by inserting a knife in the center and if it comes out clean its done. Cover the top with whipped cream so the hole is not noticeable or something

orr youu coould havee used a potato peeler & peeled the pumpkin , cut in in half , NOT at thee stemm , && THEN cut off the stemm . && dont cut it intoo chunkss ! it would have saved somee timeee . Lol .
